Hi all,
I thought I only had red cherry shrimp and amano shrimp in my tank, but this little stripy guy/gal doesn't look like either. I'm not expecting any breeding recombinations either, as I only had 3 cherry shrimp (of which two died/were eaten) and 4 amanos (which don't breed in freshwater).
Does anyone have any thoughts?

I saw it this morning and this is the only one of my shrimp with this dark area, I had a hard time getting closer or a better picture to see if i can see individual eggs bc it left the branch. I'm pretty sure it's berried I just want to make sure

Hey everyone, I have a 26.5-liter (7-gallon) aquarium with a built-in rear sump filter.
I have one female betta, one ampularia, and two Neocaridina shrimp (one of them has died minutes ago).
My nitrite and ammonia levels are close to zero, and my pH is between 7.0 and 7.5.
Tonight, I noticed a white, ghost-like exoskeleton in the tank, and then I found the body of one of my shrimp, apparently missing its head.
I’m not sure whether it had trouble molting or if my betta attacked it. I think the betta attacking it is unlikely because she has always completely ignored the shrimp.
I still have one shrimp alive.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Could this have been a failed molt, or is it possible that the shrimp died for another reason and was partially eaten afterward? Any advice would be appreciated!

Sorry about the potato photos. I have seen some black ones on here before. Was feeding the kids today (was originally 5 orange and 5 yellow - now due to excessive kinky time somewhere around 50 if not more) and noticed one that was clear. Thought that was kinda cool. Nex minnit there’s a black one then a bigger black one. So apparently both variations are cause by inbreeding leading to throwbacks in colour? I thought it was pretty interesting. Certainly adds to the variance in the tank.
Hello!
I got my first bamboo shrimp as a stowaway in a plant, but I love her, so decided to get another one today.
For no reason whatsoever I thought my first one was a male, called it Ernesto (which is still her name), could I please have help with this new one?

We’ve had a marble wood shrimp for awhile and just got a regular bamboo shrimp from the same store and I’m really surprised at the behavior differences despite all of the research I have telling me they’re basically the same.
Our marble wood shrimp was hiding at the pet shop in a piece of wood when we got it and was hard for the worker to scoop out because he kept swimming away and hiding. When we got him home he immediately swam away quickly to a hiding spot. He’s mostly hid in pieces of wood and decor since we got it and rarely comes out in view even when he’s feeding he hides. He’s had successful molts and seems to be eating regularly with his fan filters so I’m not too stressed about his behavior.
The bamboo shrimp has been much more social, he feeds next to my neos and amanos, is out in the open, and hasn’t hid much at all since we got it. Even at the store he didn’t swim away when the worker was scooping him and happily fell into the net when she went to grab him. Super docile and a chiller all around.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience or knows any more unique differences between these shrimp besides just the color and name because the personalities are a stark difference but I’m not sure if that’s just unique to my shrimp or the kind of shrimp they are?
Thank you in advance and happy shrimp keeping to all!

Hello, just a heads up (if this isn't already common knowledge): this is how Sf_aquatics is sending out 'blue velvet' shrimp right now. Sometimes not blue and with bonus worms. Messaged them last night - haven't heard back yet but I wanted to at least save anyone else considering using them some trouble, because if these had been for my established community tank I'd have lost a three year old colony. Thankfully, I'd set up a tank specifically for these shrimp. I've had to dip six of the 20 so far since they arrived Friday and the rust spot on the (random) snowball they sent in this blue velvet order is caving in.

Brackish water shrimp: Halocaridina rubra, also know as Opae ula.
I usually feed them organic spirulina+clorella powder, but today I gave them a fragment of a spirulina flake. And... well, who knew opae ula could be this greedy? They're the most chilled shrimp on Earth. ;)

I am starting a new shrimp tank after my last was taken over by snails (pictured behind the new one). I have been wanting to try crystal shrimp and have decided to in my new tank. It’s a 1.6 gallon fluval and there will be 10 in this order. Anyone have any tips for caring for these shrimp? My tank has been cycling with water from my larger tank that has fish and about 100 shrimp from breeding. I used Fluval Plant and Shrimp Stratum Aquarium Substrate and will be ordering plants.
I have 5 red cherry shrimp from the tank that was taken over that I want to add but if I want the new shrimp to breed will this interfere with the color? Anyone tips for breeding the crystal shrimp would also be appreciated!
This is my third and hopefully forever shrimp tank after the past 2 were overtaken by parasites so any advice is welcome!

Hello Everybody! I need help figuring out what kind of shrimp this is. I ordered 20 Grade AA Red Cherry Shrimp from a seller online. As soon as I looked inside the first bag, I saw a blue shrimp. I've already contacted the merchant and they confirmed these are in fact Grade AA Red Cherry Shrimp....
I already own red cherry shrimp, so my plan was to breed them. I feel like there's a maximum of 5 Grade AA cherry shrimp, along with some regular low grade cherry shrimp in this batch. Some of these definitely don't seem like cherry shrimp at all, though I could always be wrong! Upon arrival, there was a striped shrimp that I thought was a rili, but unfortunately it passed away a few minutes after opening the package. I understand shrimp can turn pale or translucent when under stress, but was not aware they could change colors entirely... I'm hoping somebody could help me understand better or possibly identify what kind of shrimp these are?

Originally I bought some ghost shrimp for my turtles to snack on. I had one turtle that was a relentless hunter so I started a separate tank to see if I could get some shrimplets going. I separated my turtles (apparently they do better as solitary creatures) and rehomed my hunter. Cleaning the 125g turtle tank tonight and saw SO MANY ghost shrimp. The berried female in the group must have produced her fry and lots survived the guppies and danios in the tank. I watched a shrimp swim down and look my turtle in the eye and then go on his way. This turtle has no interest at all. So now I have two tanks for shrimp.
Berried girl is from my 18g. I don’t know how well they’ll do because there are minnows and guppies, but lots of places to hide.

So as of now i have snails in there is this too big for just shrimp? i have been thinking and i really want a truly planted tank my first tank didnt get to be because my stores didnt sell aquasoil now they do so its possible . so i have some questions rocks that fizz from the nitrate #1 bottle what makes it fizz ? and is it only toxic to fish or shrimp aswell? i have this cool rock id love to see displayed but it fizzes in certain spots . would moderately hard water be okay for them ? my ph is 8.2 . what should i do with this tank ; how should scape it ? plant ideas? show me your shrimp tanks for inspo on how to make it look . what kind of shrimp should i put in ? what to feed them and the babies if they have some ? how often would i need to clean like poop since its shrimp ? what plants would make this low maintenance i would love some red or purple in my tank not sure i am ready for co2 though so something that just needs good lighting for the colors . is a dry start a good idea if growing carpet what kind of of carpet is shrimp’s favorite? should i add a snail if this all works out and what kind would add personality to this tank or what kind of shrimp would add a pop to this tank ? last question your favorite place to order shrimp that never fails you for healthy and well bred ?

Hello, about 3 months ago I bought Caridina Crystal Black shrimp. They weren't the highest grade, but most of them had nice black stripes.
Now I've noticed a few cases in the tank like the one in the photo, and from what I've learned, it's probably a "panda" shrimp.
I'm wondering whether I should treat these shrimp as culls or continue this line in the tank.
Thanks in advance for any answers.

Should be ready in 5 weeks. Still need to figure out how to baby proof the filter slots. Any ideas for aquascaping? I have a bunch of dragonstone, dwarfgrass, rotalas, mini anubias, hydrocotyle, montecarlo, and of course, java moss.
