💣NEW Fucking Squeeze Play $INO — 20.8 MILLION SHARES SHORT + OCTOBER 30 FDA CATALYST 👀🚀 Potential Short Squeeze?
I've been looking into INOVIO Pharmaceuticals (INO), and I think this could be an interesting short-squeeze candidate heading into the end of October.
Not saying a squeeze is guaranteed, but there are some interesting ingredients here.
Short Interest
According to September 30 short-interest data: 20.82 million shares short
Approximately 20–25% of the float shorted (depending on the float estimate)
7.59 days to cover based on average trading volume
Short interest increased from approximately 19.9 million shares in mid-September.
That's a substantial bearish position heading into a potentially major catalyst
The Catalyst — October 30, 2026
INOVIO has an FDA decision target of October 30 for INO-3107, its treatment for recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP), a rare disease that causes recurring growths in the respiratory tract.
A favorable decision could significantly change the company's outlook and potentially attract new investors.
However, approval isn't guaranteed. The FDA previously raised concerns about whether the treatment qualifies for accelerated approval. That said, it would make a company in cash run-off suddenly available to generate revenue and significantly change their evaluation. They've already began lining up potentially buyers hoping for a good decision.
Why I Think a Short Squeeze Is Possible
Here's the potential setup:
FDA announces positive news.
Investors begin buying INO, pushing the stock higher.
Short sellers start taking losses and some buy shares to close their positions.
That covering creates additional buying pressure.
If momentum and trading volume accelerate, the rally could feed on itself.
With roughly a quarter of the float reportedly shorted, an unexpected positive catalyst could make things interesting.
Another Potential Catalyst
INO also has an estimated earnings report around November 10, shortly after the FDA decision.
If approval happens, investors could be looking for updates on commercialization, launch timing, and future revenue potential.
I'm not expecting meaningful drug sales to materialize immediately, but management commentary could influence sentiment.
The Risks
This is a speculative biotech play, not a guaranteed squeeze.
The FDA could reject or delay approval.
High short interest doesn't guarantee forced covering.
Financing needs and potential dilution could limit upside.
The stock could fall sharply on unfavorable news.
My Take
What caught my attention is the timing.
20.8 million shares short, a major FDA decision approaching, and a potential company update shortly afterward.
If the FDA decision is unexpectedly favorable, I think the combination could create conditions for a sharp rally.
I'm personally holding INO calls expiring November 20, so I have a bullish position and could be wrong.
What do you guys think? Is $INO a legitimate short-squeeze candidate, or are the shorts correctly pricing in the FDA risk?
