Others/Miscellaneous Please tell me 80° core and 100° hotspot on lp gpu is fine.
I'm turning gpu temp monitoring off, I'm obsessing too much, I can't take it anymore.

My first sff build and pride and joy at the moment, reused my most expensive parts before the AI kaboom. Didn't expect that this build would go fairly easy, tho cable management was still a pain cause I didn't plan it properly. I mostly use this rig to play Tekken and it being 8.5L makes it easy to bring to lan parties. No regrets switching to sff.

Was going for 0 LED all blacked out. Quite a change from the A3 build.
After letting this case sit on the shelf for a year, I decided to build with it. This case was both fun and slightly challenging.
Built using some on-hand components thankfully. Unfortunately I still needed MOBO, PSU, RAM and GPU. RAM prices were shocking since last spring. First time using ASrock but this ITX fit 2 nvme and 2.5GbE.
I do think I will switch to inverted or standard and swap for an air cooler but this works for now. Idles around 40 but I haven’t messed with any fan settings.
I missed gaming after selling my A3 mATX build, which will be forever missed. Used the 3D printer a lot for the A3 and definitely using it for some custom brackets for better cable routing and a front fan to start, I have a few more ideas. I’ll probably order the IO covers from their site as well.
Do we think it can run Minecraft?

I want to put an Asrock B580 in the case, which is around 2-3cm longer than the max GPU length the case says.
I'm looking for a stand for it so I can keep the case in the original position

I always loved the glass front panel and small footprint of this case. Parts upgrades were slowly done over the last five years. I hope to find a similarly compact case in a few more years for a new build.

When choosing a GPU for compact SFF cases, which dimension is the most important to consider: length, height, or thickness? Are there any other clearance factors I should pay attention to when comparing cards?
I'd appreciate recommendations for RTX 5070 models that offer the best compatibility with smaller cases, particularly around 5–7.5 litres.

Recently moved overseas and planning to build a new sff gaming pc. Can’t decide between the kiang (5.45L) with a 5060LP or C2 plus (about 7.2L) with a 9060xt 16gb.
My old pc that I couldn’t bring with me had a 3060ti 8gb Only ever play at 1080p and was mostly happy with the performance. I prefer the layout of the kiang more, but is it worth it to be limited to LP gpus?
I’ll also need to bring it on a few long haul flights

Hey r/sffpc!
Working on a custom ~13.7L slim vertical ITX case (342 x 100 x 400 mm). Initial CAD model is done and I’m currently test-printing the frame parts in ABS for better heat resistance.
It’s a sandwich layout with a 100mm width, so clearances and thermal management are going to be tight. Also added a fun little detail: integrated a mechanical switch (Red switch) for the power button!
Still expecting some design tweaks after test fitting the PSU/GPU. Let me know what you think or if you have any tips on airflow/structural strength for tall 3D-printed cases!
Hello everyone, for a couple years my PC has been randomly shutting off while gaming. I previously remember it shutting down every few days while gaming but it has now progressively gotten worse by shutting down every time I game. It does not shut down while I am browsing/idle.
What happens:
When I launch a game from a cold boot, I can usually play for about an hour before the PC suddenly shuts down. After that, if I turn it back on and launch a game again, it shuts down much faster, usually within 5–10 minutes. I have to press the power button to turn the PC back on.
PC SPECS:
Case: Form D T1
MOBO: Asus ROG STRIX B650E-I
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT Reference
RAM: G.SKILL Flare X5 Series DDR5 RAM (2x16GB)
PSU: Corsair SF750
Troubleshooting I've done:
Tested a brand new PSU Corsair SF750, still shutting down
Updated CPU, GPU, BIOS drivers/firmware
Reinstall Windows
Surge protector: I've used a brand new surge protector as well as directly to the outlet.
Tested with one RAM stick at a time in both slots, 1 stick shut down while gaming in about 5 mins. The other lasted much longer, varying around 3-4 hours when first switched, but is now seeing the usual symptoms of ~1 hour of gaming then shutting down.
Ran OCCT CPU, GPU, and Power stability tests, no shut offs
Checks temps, nothing outside the usual, highest is the CPU at 85 degrees while gaming
Reseated all cables
Reapplied thermal paste to CPU
No error 41 kernel power in Windows Event Viewer
At this point, I'm suspecting the RAM or MOBO, but I'd like to rule out anything else before spending money on a replacement.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any other suggestions for troubleshooting?

Working on a 3D printed radiator bracket to replace the T1’s stock AIO Bracket. It’ll be apart of my next project; DDCZero x FormD T1.

I can get one for $70 new right now but I can't find any proper reviews or testing on it. It is cheaper than Arctic LF3 and Atmos I/II. Arctic is a hard no since I don't want to bother with a difficult installation. Atmos I/II is much more expensive than Nautilus II RS.
I will be using it on Ncase M2 as a side mounted AIO to cool a 9800X3D.
I am also planning to grab a Noctua NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP to act as radiator fans. My ultimate goal is the quietest (white) build as much as possible. Thank you in advance.
I wanted to share what i've acquired over the last year on the 2nd hand market, as opposed to going new. Everything is in USD.
Purchase 1 Asking was 1,000. Bought for $900 - Velka 7 SFF build (7.1L because stand), 5800x3d, Alpenfohn Lp Cooler, 16gb 3400, 1tb WD Blk SN750, Reference model AMD 6900xt(16gb), Coolermaster v850. It also came with peripherals, LG 4k 144hz Nano IPS Display(27GN95B), Razer Deathadder Mouse, Wooting 60HE(BIG SCORE), Edifier 1280DB. All for $900, I had sitting around a 32GB(2x16 3200) kit I threw in there. And then acquired a 2TB 990 Evo Plus for 150 or 160, i cant recall. Then Acquired a Gigabyte 9070xt OC ICE, Brand New for 620(Need new case, to thicc so it's sitting).
Then Today, I was supposed to buy a new LG 34GX90SA-W. Brand New, in factory sealed box for $450. But after agreeing they ghosted me. i would have came up to $500. But instead I bought a LG 34 Ultrawide, They advertised it for $50 and 160hz, So i didnt care about model til i bought it. Turns out it was a LG 34WP65C-B (3440x1440, 160hz VA Panel)
And then the BIG SCORE! Also today, I bought a SteelCase Gesture WITH THE FACTORY HEADREST! Date of Oct 2021 On the Chair. The Seller said it was used as Display Furniture at a business. Seating is very much in tact. oh, did I forget the price? Listed for $400, Last min i asked if he'd take 350 and Done deal. To the same seller I mentioned looking for a Hayworth or Steelcase(non Solo) desk and he said he has a steelcase Ology 3, Which is the right desk i'd want from SC but the wrong width at 48", Looking for a 66"+ x 30"+ desk. and we already agreed to 250 if it comes up. So here's to hoping.
So i'll be selling some of the extras displays and ram and 6900xt soon which'll help recoup some costs and drive down my end purchase even further. For what i'll be selling im expecting 7-900 dollars back.
Just wanted to share that you can get a great set up on the 2nd hand market if your patient and know how to negotiate.
At a local pawnshop, There's a Samsung 49" oled g9 5120x1440 240hz (LS49CG954SNXZA) 1st Gen Oled, I could pick up for just under $500 but decided not to because of the issues around the 1st gen. Like; Thermal expansion, Different materials expanding due to heat at different rates, Panel Delamination And lack of Burn In tech. BUt its under 500. Should i still pick it up? On one hand its an amazing display but on the otherhand longevity of it isn't garunteed because of it's build process. Thoughts?

Built this a few years ago now. Was meaning to post for a while. Someone might enjoy.
I had issues with the AIO. So i pulled the mounting frame and just used the wraith prism (i think it was) that came with it.
It's been awesome.
Few overheating issues. But i'm willing to give the H2 a run next time.
Got my pc about a year ago for msrp, and since then some components have 5 or 6xed in value. I definitely wouldn't be able to replace them at this cost, but it'd make me very sad to not be able to game anymore if they broke. Anyone have experience looking for a solid insurance agent for this? Have done a bit of research myself, but the process feels very opaque to me.

Picked up this LOUQE RAW S1 build for $550 on Facebook Marketplace recently. Wasn't really planning on buying a complete PC, but it seemed like a pretty good deal.
Specs:
Everything seems to be working fine so far. Ran a few stress tests and didn't get any errors, although the GPU gets pretty hot (around 87°C) even with the fans at 75%.
I actually have a MIDORI 7.5L sitting around that I bought for a future AM5 build. Still planning to build in it eventually, but I figured this was worth picking up in the meantime.
Mostly using it for 1080p gaming right now. I'm thinking about selling the 1080 Ti and getting a used RX 9060 XT 16GB, partly for the lower power consumption and partly because I could reuse it in the MIDORI later.
How did I do for $550? Would you guys bother upgrading the GPU, or just keep the 1080 Ti for now?
Also, if anyone has experience with GPU temps in the RAW S1, I'd appreciate some advice.

I’ve had this Midori 5L for a little while now and finally decided to properly benchmark it before I start changing too much. The goal is basically to see how optimized I can get a genuinely tiny 5L system while still keeping it practical enough to use every day.
Current setup:
[Case]: Midori 5L
[CPU]: Ryzen 7 9700X
[GPU]: MSI RTX 5070 deshrouded with Noctua fans + EIGA Shroud
[Motherboard]: ASUS ROG Strix B850-I
[RAM]: 32GB TeamGroup T-Create DDR5-6000 CL30 + ZCOOI Mugitya Studio heatsinks
[Storage]: 4TB WD Black SN850X
[Cooler]: Noctua NH-L9a
[Fans]: 5x Noctua NF-A9x14 Chromax Black
[PSU]: Enhance 600W Platinum Modular Flex ATX
PCIe is currently forced to Gen 3 because the stock riser has been unstable at Gen 4.
| Benchmark | Result |
|---|---|
| Cinebench R23 Multi | 18,373 |
| Cinebench R23 Single | 2,165 |
| Time Spy Overall | 20,106 |
| Time Spy Graphics | 22,013 |
| Steel Nomad | 5,287 |
| Speed Way | 5,834 |
| Speed Way Stress Test | 98.6% stability |
For a more realistic test, I also ran 10 back-to-back Cyberpunk benchmarks at 2560×1600, RT Overdrive, DLSS Auto, Ray Reconstruction On and Frame Generation Off.
| Cyberpunk 10-run test | Result |
|---|---|
| Average FPS | 54.24 |
| Average minimum | 48.36 |
| Average maximum | 61.01 |
| GPU temp | ~71.8°C avg |
| GPU hotspot | ~83.0°C avg |
| GPU power | ~216W avg |
| Effective clock | ~2835 MHz |
What surprised me was how little performance dropped as the case heat-soaked. FPS and clocks stayed extremely consistent across all 10 runs.
I’ve already made a few small changes: swapped the RAM heatspreaders for the ZCOOI Mugitya ones, redid some cable management, reapplied thermal paste and cleaned up some of the airflow/ducting.
| Metric | Before | After | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| GPU Core Avg | 76.0°C | 75.1°C | -0.9°C |
| GPU Hotspot Avg | 86.7°C | 85.8°C | -0.9°C |
| VRAM Junction Avg | 81.8°C | 80.8°C | -1.0°C |
| GPU Power Avg | ~250W | ~250W | Same |
| Effective GPU Clock | 2764 MHz | 2774 MHz | +10 MHz |
| GPU Fan Avg | 2270 RPM | 2117 RPM | -153 RPM |
| Stability | 98.6% | 98.6% | Same |
So nothing dramatic yet, but getting roughly 1°C lower temps at the same ~250W while also running the GPU fans ~150 RPM slower is a nice start.
I’m not comparing the RAM temperatures yet because the post-mod run was accidentally done with EXPO disabled after a CMOS reset, so I’ll redo that properly at DDR5-6000.
Next I want to start actually tuning the system: GPU undervolt/OC, PBO + Curve Optimizer, tighter memory timings and fan curves, while keeping the same benchmarks so I can track exactly what each change does.
Longer term I’m considering an AXP90-X36 + 96mm 4070 FE Nidec fan, custom 3D-printed airflow/exhaust shrouds, a better Gen 4/5 riser, and eventually a 9800X3D. I’m also waiting to see how a custom GPU heatsink being developed for the Midori turns out, if it works well, I’d love to eventually squeeze a 5070 Ti or better into ~5L.
Let me know what you think and if you have any questions!
Thanks for reading!

intel 250k+
Thermalright axp90 x47
Asus B860m micro-atx board

Build complete. the cpu thermal throttles heavily, had to limit to 65 W to work, plus ram and gpu hit mid 70 degrees. Two exhaust fans on the side to remove heat from gpu and cpu. 60 db when gaming. Any advice for a better air cooler + fan config?
hello guys i’m coming from a 011 mini v2 and im planning on switching to a sff build, i already switched my ram to a lowprofile kit, and a mitx mobo, but i cant decide if i want the GOATED m2 or slightly bigger M3, do you guys think the m3 would be better future proofing with bigger GPUs? or do you think the m2 is more than capable of holding bigger gpus! i still only have a 3080 ti but planning on upgrading down the road! thanks for the advice and suggestions
