The second picture is the only example of something similar I had in mind, but it’s a bit too big and I want the folding parts to be a different color/fabric

Hi! Sewing newbie here! I have a couple of questions:

I was wondering if, somewhere on the internet, there was a fashion directory/blog/website that has free sewing patterns of trendy clothes? Kind of like Worn on TV or Spotern that’s community-submitted or crowdsourced. But instead of directing you links to buy the items, it provides you sewing patterns instead!

Reason for asking is I found a cute top from Free People that I thought would be easy enough for a newbie like me to attempt. But I was hoping to be able to get the basics of it down pat: measurements, pattern, tips, how much fabric is needed if I were to upcycle, etc.

I know I have so many questions on here! Would love to hear yalls thoughts.

I’m fairly new to sewing (I’m a fashion design student in my first year) but ik how to make most basic things except necklines and how to finish them.
I came across some fabric which is pretty much identical to the black and pink top and I really want to make it. I prefer the yoke in the middle of the waist w the flared/ gathered bottom.
Despite this type of pattern looking easy to replicate I just don’t trust my skills enough to waste the fabric.
If anyone knows any similar style patterns please do share, I would really appreciate it.

I have made a pattern for a printable pdf but really need help on how to set it up for printing on a 8.5x11 sheets. the patterns bigger and needs to be taped together. this is a sample from a pattern i have from another designer and need to set mine up simular. I use affinity but if theres a better way please let me know. My canvas in affinity is 17x14inch right now thanks

I’m looking for a simple, fitted, woven mini dress pattern with a zip closure similar to the one in the photo. For some reason I’m actually having a difficult time finding one. Free is preferred! Im not sure if the photo is actually woven fabric, it’s just the closest I can find to what I’m looking for.

Hoping for: spaghetti straps, mini length (though I can hack a bit), fitted through the waist, and a scoop neckline. No AI patterns and no cups. Darts and princess seams are great!

I think ...the top is similar to a Kinsale cloak? There are slash pockets, a collar/hood that is in two parts that when buttoned acts as a stand collar. Pulled up is a hood. Unbuttoned lays down into a wide flat collar. Each sleeve is a separate piece and cuffed. Two pieces for front plus button placket. Back is likely one piece? Lined with cotton plaid, body is cotton corduroy. Does anyone have one to show the back of this and give a laid out photo? I can draft myself but need more detailed images.

Or if someone has idea of a patten someone has drafted from this, that would also be fab! I need more info as I don't have access to measure myself and verify construction.

I really like the look of these types of blouses, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a pattern I could use. I am a bit new to self-drafting patterns; otherwise, I would try doing that. I would say I am an intermediate sewist, but I prefer to sew things without zips! Haha

I also thrifted a nice white linen bedsheet to use to make a top like this. Would that work?

I’m looking for recommendations for shift dresses that you’ve tried and love. I’m looking for one that has bust darts, is not too a-line, not too fluffy so I can use a stiff fabric and not be a potato sack, and also is sleeveless with good facings, not bias. Preferably no seam in the back
I’ve tried MM trapeze but it’s too a-line
TT plains is not sleeveless and seam in the back
Fabric store Mona is also a-line
Mm camber has sleeves

My thought right now is take the uniform top by grainline and adjust the length but I’m not sure of how the skirt should flair out to be flattering but also grade out for hips.
Also the facings on uniform aren’t quite meaty enough, looking for nice thick facings to get a good sewing line.
Anyway hope this makes sense and you can help me

I got the Vogue 1748 sewing pattern but I’m not a fan of the pleats on the front of the bust. Is there a way to remove them? Looking online it looks like my options include either cutting them out from the initial pattern or sewing darts there instead but I’m not sure which is the best option or if there’s a better option aside from those.

I found a pattern sometime in 2023 or 2024 that I want to make but cannot for the life of me remember the name of. Hoping someone else can recognize it from context clues? There were options for a short dress, long dress, and a dress shirt. It was loose fitting with long vertical panels that were almost in the shape of flower petals and gave the whole garment a flower/bell like appearance. It was loose fitting and I distinctly remember watching a few tutorials where people made it out of a very gauzy or tulle like material that gave it again that ethereal flower like effect. Hoping someone whose made it or something similar can recognize it from the description? I've gone through bookmarks, pins, saved posts with no luck in finding it.
