Idk what I’m doing
I’ve been trying to learn how to scream and I’ve got something but it’s very quiet and I feel like I’m just not doing it right. When I try to add projection it just kinda doesn’t work.

Fry screaming thing
Does anyone know if there’s any special way to this kind of high but not high and sort of airy scream that people do because I can’t do it and I’m wondering if it’s technique or just a good fry scream voice (I can already scream). Some clear examples are Shawn Milke screaming in early apology, Shane Told in bleeds no more when he says “more”, “stone”, “else” etc at the end of some lines and the second dude that screams in Beautiful things are better left dead by aprils love affair when he says “please”. Hopefully people know what I’m talking about lol

AMV vocal covers are the new subway surfer/family guy engagement bait (Title Fight - Numb But I Still Feel It)
Idk I thought it was a funny idea to get people to stay for my insta video.
Not directly scream related BUT the technique I'm using here is a combination of my fry scream, sung voice, and a technique I borrow from my false chords where I use a lot of my chest and nose. I also do this to emulate the dude from Hot Mulligan, but my voice is higher than his so it turns out more like Dillinger Escape Plan (Calculating infinity era)
I'm high sorry for the tangent.

Do you need to use head voice for high fry screams?
I am pretty sure I can do a basic fry scream, but it doesn't sound quite like those high black metal screams. I can't figure out how to make it higher, but I also can't use my head voice at all. So I wonder if I need to practice head voice to get such high vocals.

Mouth shapes
How do I do mouth shapes and stuff? For context I do inhales cos I suck and I’m still learning exhales, but even though I know a few mouth shapes just by playing around and seeing a few videos, like basic pig squeals, toilet bowls, no one seems to go into detail on inhales at all, like I want to learn a lot of songs by the browning, but his inhales sound like exhales, and I don’t wanna hurt myself learning the high stuff, anyone have any idea what to do? I’ve looked so hard I can’t find anything

Any advice for a beginner (who's only been training for a few days) ?
I love to sing and I'm a huge metal fan, so 1+1=2...
I decided to teach myself (anyway, I’m French and I live in the countryside, it’s already hard enough to find someone with the same musical tastes as me, so a vocal coach for a girl who wants to sing metal… that’s mission impossible)
Anyway !
After spending a long time wandering around looking for advice online, I figured I might be able to find what I was looking for on YouTube. Luckily, I stumbled upon a rock/metal singer who makes lots of videos giving tips. After a few days of practicing based on what she says and doing the exercises, I feel like I’m managing to reproduce her examples pretty smoothly.
Except that while trying to film/record myself over two days, multiple times, so I could compare my progress later… I mostly noticed that I seem to be able to do nothing but a vaguely guttural, angry scream.
It’s complicated, I’m in no position to judge myself, which is why I’d like to find real people who know what they’re talking about and could give me feedback without making fun of me.
I love singing, and I’ve dreamed of being able to perform songs by my favorite bands ever since I was at least 14, but it’s so hard to find someone IRL who understands that...
I'm 22 years old, and I have to practice by myself in my kitchen, making me look like a crazy person to the neighbors, by the way.
But anyway...
I'm attaching a short video to this message that I made this morning, featuring a clip of my weird scream.
Thanks 🔥
