thoughts about future sibling?

little princess is super social , but likes her space too. she’d rather we would be home more often than not, but not in her face all the time. but she loves being around people, and is super playful. she was a rescue so we didn’t intend to adopt a cat necessarily, though we’d just begun talking about it. i suppose my question is, do your folds seem to have a preference to having another feline friend? if so, does anyone have a second cat that isn’t a fold, but that have bonded really well? i have no idea how to tell if she’d prefer a pal, but she does want to play so often and i always worry i cant give her enough. considering getting her a buddy somewhere down the line.

Rapid Breathing

So today my 10 month old fold has been lethargic and his breathing is at least 50 breaths per minute. He has had this before after play and walks but he hasn’t really done much today. He did get freaked out in the garden so it may be stress but that was at least four hours ago. I am monitoring it and if it’s doesn’t settle soon I will be taking him to the vets. Has anyone else experienced this and did their breathing return to normal without the need for a vet ?

Any tips for my noisy baby?

I have a three year old Scottish Fold cat that I adopted about two years ago.

She, when I adopted her, was like a Velcro cat. She was always near me. She was always looking for pets. She would sleep next to me all night long, no bother. And even though she did meow a lot during the day, not so much during the night. She used to love following me everywhere and cuddling. She has completely stopped doing that. Is it adolescence?

In the last six months, she has started meowing way more. She meows a lot during the day and now also during the night for no reason.

It has made it really difficult to sleep properly, and I don't mind as much because I adopted her and I love her, but I have flatmates that are just not happy with the amount of noise that she makes. She meows so loud that it sounds like a baby is crying. I have tried to play more with her right before sleep so that she will be calmer when she actually does go to sleep. I give her supplements to make sure she's not in too much pain, and she seems to be jumping a lot and being really playful, which tells me she might not be in so much pain to explain why she's always meowing.

I just wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar experience and if anyone has any tricks or any tips or any cues on what might be happening to my cat.

Adopted my first Scottish Fold

Long time cat owner, first time Scottish Fold owner. She's 5ish, super sweet, and was adopted from my slightly insane mother-in-law, who left a kitten sized collar on her for way too long, creating a (hopefully temporary) ring of furless skin around her neck. Her name was Belle, but I'm searching for a new name.

This will be my first fully indoor cat. My previous cat was an ASH rescue that we were never able to get used to being inside. I would welcome any advice for setting up our home for a new kitten. We also will be introducing her to our Amstaff, Bader, eventually. I've been reading about socialization strategies for introducing them.

Any and all advice is welcome. Thank you guys!

best places to find a male silver shaded scottish fold kitten?

hii everyone!! 💗 i’m new to this subreddit, but i’m currently looking to get a Scottish Fold kitten and would love some recommendations!

i’m specifically looking for a male silver shaded kitten my budget is around $1,200, and i’m hoping to find a reputable, ethical breeder.

does anyone know of any trustworthy breeders or websites where i could find one? i’d really appreciate any recommendations, links, or advice on what to look for when choosing a breeder!

i also want to make sure i’m getting a healthy kitten, so if you have any advice about health testing or questions i should ask breeders beforehand, i’d love to hear it.

thank you so much!! ♡
