Discussions WHY are these cars so rare now?
I barely see these cars anymore, hell I feel like I've barely seen them my entire life. And why do they all look the same? I always confuse them

The Chevy Cavalier is a good example of this
In the early to mid 2000s it was driven by high school kids/tuners
By the early to mid 2010s it was seen as nothing more than a cheap affordable commuter car

I nominate the Saturn Astra. Apparently, 1/2 of all new Saturn Astras in the US sold in Chicago's north suburbs and in southern Wisconsin. Saturn aggressively opened up dealers in this area of the country.
Honorable mentions:
West Virginia: all late model Suzukis. Suzuki had a very strong dealer network in WV, where cars like the SX4 and Kizashi are still relatively common. When I went to WV last year, I even saw 2 different Suzuki equators.
Maine: Saab 9-3 and 900 convertible. It's fairly well known that Saab culture is strong in Maine, but the convertibles are particularly Maine-specific; they were common cars for seasonal retirees to keep at their Maine summer homes.
Buffalo/Niagara Falls NY metro area: full-size sedans with canvas tops. A symbol of blue collar wealth from the 70s to late 2000s. Common soft top sedans included the Buick Lesabre, Cadillac DTS, W-Body Chevrolet Impala, and even the Toyota Camry.
San Francisco Bay Area: 2010s compact EVs like the Fiat 500 EV, Chevrolet Spark EV, and Honda Fit EV. Compact TVs were very poor sellers in the 2010s due to high prices and limited range, but many of them ended up in the Bay Area where incomes are high, parking is scarce, and EV technology was the sound of the future.
New York City: Fisker Ocean. When Fisker declared bankruptcy, a company bought all 11,000 unsold Fisker Oceans for taxicab use throughout NYC. For reference, only 8,200 Fisker Oceans were sold in the US before bankruptcy.

I like it. Good pickup with the V6, nice leather interior, and loud sound system too. Perfection.
