Discussion Thinking about starting my own cleaning business in Regina. Looking for advice!
Hey everyone!
I’m 26 and currently a student, but lately I’ve been going through a bit of a rough time mentally and have been reconsidering what I want to do moving forward. School has been taking a lot out of me, and I’m trying to figure out what’s best for myself and my mental health.
I’ve always been someone who genuinely enjoys cleaning. It’s something that actually makes me feel good mentally, and I love having a clean and comfortable space. Lately, I’ve been seriously thinking about starting my own residential cleaning business here in Regina.
I’ve always wanted to be my own boss, make my own hours, and build something for myself. I also love the idea of being able to help others, especially people who are busy, overwhelmed, or just need that extra help around their homes. I want people to feel comfortable knowing they can trust me in their space.
I’ve been doing some research on registering a sole proprietorship, getting business insurance, purchasing cleaning supplies, and figuring out pricing. I’m still learning and trying to understand everything that goes into starting a business before jumping into it.
I’m wondering if anyone here has started their own cleaning business or has experience in the industry?
How did you find your first clients?
How much did it cost you to get started?
Is there a good demand for residential cleaners in Regina?
What are some things you wish you knew before starting?
Were you able to eventually make a steady income from it?
I know starting a business isn’t easy, and I’m not expecting to become successful overnight. I’m willing to put in the work, but I also want to make sure I’m going about things the right way.
I’m just at a point in my life where I really want to do something I enjoy, become financially independent, and hopefully build something successful for myself.
I’d appreciate any advice, experiences, or suggestions, even from people who currently hire house cleaners!
Thanks in advance! 😊

Question Any walk-in clinics that do minor procedures (ingrown toenail removal)?
I'm dealing with a painful ingrown toenail. My insurance doesn’t cover a podiatrist, so I went to a walk-in clinic initially, but they just prescribed me antibiotics and told me to follow up with my family doctor.
Unfortunately, it's still not recovering after taking the antibiotics and my family doctor can’t get me in for two weeks.
Does anyone know of a walk-in clinic performs a partial ingrown nail removal right in the office?
Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Question Good Condo Management Companies?
Are there any good ones?
We went through a few companies in our early days and at the time it felt like there weren't many good options. But we landed with Charan and overall things seemed decent. We've been with them for quite some time now....But over the last year or so they have really been dropping the ball.
I'm wondering if anyone out there has had any good experiences as it looks like It's probably time for us to find new management. Any insights appreciated!

Question Heritage/General Hospital neighbourhood morning church bells?
I live in the Heritage/General Hospital area and work at RGH. Every morning on my walk in work, I hear church bells in the distance that begin ringing between 7:50 and 7:55am (roughly).
There are many buildings - including the hospital - that the sound gets bounced around between and it's really hard to tell what direction it is coming from. If it wasn't for this I'd simply walk in the direction of the bells to find the source. There's also a lot of churches in the area, so it would be hard to pin it down to one without knowing for sure. My guess is it's coming from an area north and east of the hospital itself - maybe north of Victoria Ave - but I can't be sure.
I was hoping somebody here might have an idea as to which place of worship this might be!?

Community New here looking for new connections, new friends
Hey everyone! I’m relatively new to Canada and looking to meet new people and make some friends.
I’m pretty adventurous and always open to trying new things! Whether it’s hitting the gym, hanging out, playing sports, photography, hiking, exploring new places, going for coffee, or just having good conversations, I’m down for it.
If you’re in the same boat or looking to make new friends, feel free to reach out!
Also, I’d love to hear any suggestions on places, groups, or activities where I could meet people and make friends.

Question Ring Road Train Track Bridge
So.... when will the city finally decide that its a good idea to make a bridge over the train tracks on Ring Road? Could be a train bridge or a regular old bridge made for cars. It would do wonders for this city...... I bet more people would travel up north.
