Looking For Advice How to dull the color on m1907 tunic buttons
I purchased a replica m1907 field tunic at a surplus store near me and was comparing it to originals online, and one thing I noticed about mine is that the buttons were very shiny compared to the originals. I am going for a mid 1916 look so if there is a way I can mute the color a bit that would be awesome. (And yes I know the stick grenade model I have is incorrect, I live in the US and have no easy access to replicas.)

Looking For Advice M1 Garand chambered in .308
Hi! I'm brand new to ww2 reenacting (coming from 6 years of Vietnam war reenacting) and was wondering if I could use a M1 Garand chambered in .308 instead of 30.06 for a 4th infantry division in Hürtgen, 1944. The only reason I ask is because the price of 30.06 is increasing and .308 is more readily available and cheaper for an M1 where I live.

Note: I was able to find reliable places for reproductions of shirts, socks, sweater, and boots from the period but I was unable to find any for pants or the jacket.

Looking For Groups Looking for WWII German Reenactment Groups Near Colorado
Hey everyone Iām looking for active WWII German reenactment or living history groups in Colorado or nearby states. Iām based in northern Colorado and would like to connect with groups that attend public displays, historical events and eventually tactical reenactments.
Iām interested in hearing what units and time periods you portray, where youāre based, and whether youāre accepting new members. Iām willing to travel for events, so recommendations in Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Utah, or New Mexico are welcome too.
My interest is historical education and accurate impressions, with no political or extremist involvement. If youāre part of a group or know one worth contacting, please comment or send me a message. Thanks!

Looking For Advice Ww2 German paint recommendations
Hi all, picked up a yugo mount for my semi mg42. I do USGI so I don't know much about German paints and want to do it right. Will use it for fun capture pictures and if my German friends want to use it. Where is a good place to purchase spray cans? Was ordnance paint different than German army paint? Thinking field gray so.it can be used early war if the need ever arises
I'm going to fabricate an optic mount for the tripod and replace the straps and pads for leather. A lot more work will go into this but I like a project.
Finally degreased and going to work on stripping the old paint

Completed Operation Urgent Fury 2/505 82nd Abn
Operation Urgent Fury, 2/505 82nd Airborne.
Sgt Mallet, E-5 Company Medic.
Urgent Fury is an impression I've been doing for a while now. If you squint hard enough, southern PA looks pretty tropical.
Couple notes:
82nd was the only division to have PASGT helmets at this point.
The unit I portray quickly shed their PASGT vests.
CO of 2/505 Col. Nightingale ordered his unit to use sandbag scrim and apply glint tape to their suspenders, which would show up on an AC-130s thermals to prevent friendly fire.
Hair regs went out the window.
Sleeve rolls also went out the window. Edit: typos

Action Shots Portuguese CaƧadores, 1811, 4th Company of the 1st Battalion, integrated into the Light Division, as they would have appeared during the pursuit of the French forces out of Portugal.
A glimpse into our latest immersive campaign weekend.
The 1st CaƧador Battalion was an elite light infantry unit of the Portuguese Army during the Peninsular War. Alongside the 3rd CaƧador Battalion, it was integrated into the Light Division, serving alongside three British regiments: the 43rd, 52nd and 95th Rifles.
This immersive weekend provided an opportunity to further develop our individual and collective skills, helping us maintain high standards of historical accuracy, military drill and field performance across all our members.
