I saw today that the song Gangsta's paradise was a remake of a Stevie Wonder song called "passed time paradise", Stevie Wonder only allowed Coolio to release the song after he rewrote the original lyrics to be "less gangsta". Does anyone know what the original lyrics were?

I’m EMIL2MIL, an independent rapper from Sandviken, Bergen, Norway.
I started making music in early 2025 without any previous experience. Since then, I’ve taught myself the whole process — writing, flow, recording, mixing and mastering.

My sound is rooted in Norwegian/Bergen rap, dark humour, surrealism, horror, storytelling and the strange contradictions of everyday life.
I’m not trying to sound like everybody else.

I want the music to feel raw,
unpredictable and a little uncomfortable.

One-take energy,
unfiltered delivery and stories that don’t always
go where you expect them to.
I’m still early in the journey, building this thing with my label “Tjuagutt production” I’ve got a strong vision and plan behind this “Label”, but first thing, figuring out how far I can take it.

Spotify needed a better female rap playlist, so I created The Feminine Flow celebrating exceptional lyricism, flow, and artistry from underground legends to mainstream heavyweights. Give it a listen, and share your favorite tracks or overlooked gems I should add.

For those of you who write and record your own tracks: what do you do about a lyric video when a single drops?

• Do you make one at all, or just upload the track with a static cover?
• If you make one: what do you use, and which part eats the most time? Timing the lines, the pictures, the vertical version for Shorts/Reels, the thumbnail and description?
• If you've paid someone: was it worth it, and would you do it again for every single?
• Does a lyric video actually do anything for you on YouTube compared to a visualizer or a static upload?
• Roughly how many singles a year do you put out, and does every one get the same treatment?

I'm trying to understand how people handle the release work after the recording is finished. Not selling anything in this thread; I'll summarise the answers in a comment for anyone who's curious.
