[GTA IV] Boosting trophies with a modded console as the dummy account?
I have a question. So I bought myself a second used PS3 a few days ago which I wanted to homebrew just for fun. I still have a normal unmodded PS3 as well, which I use for trophy hunting. GTA IV has been itching me for years now but I really don't want to boost it with others longer than absolutely necessary (I know some trophies require more than 2 players). So for the majority of the grind that only need 2 players, I thought about using my freshly bought 2nd PS3.
Now the problem. The console was sold for parts because the disc drive isn't working. Laser is practically dead. I could fix it with parts, but it costs money and I don't even need a working drive if I want to mod this console anyway. So I thought why not use it modded then?
So here's the question. I've read a lot about that you should never sign into PSN on a modded console, while others say it's safe if you deactivate syscalls and what not. So if I were to create a throwaway PSN account, could I be able to use it as my dummy account to help me boost the trophies over on my normal PS3? Or is the risk too high of getting banned since I'm signed into PSN?
If the account gets banned, I don't care, I just create a new one. But I've also heard about hardware bans which would ruin this whole plan obviously. I do NOT intend to use mods or cheats in the multiplayer. Nothing at all. I just want to use it as my dummy acc, no mods no cheats.
To the people that are experienced in the homebrew scene, is it safe nowadays? Is only the account at risk (which would be absolutely irrelevant)?
Of course I'm not using it for trophy hunting at all. I would never risk to lose my actual main PSN acc lmao. But for a dummy account, what are the stakes if any?
Thanks to all in advance
