I've looked at some manual processes that involve FinOps and they are easily automated.

Rightsizing, finding orphaned resources, flagging resources that don't have owner, cost predictions based on iac, or even larger architecture refactoring to reduce costs are now possible at scale and fully automated with combination of AI and deterministic workflows.

I still don't understand why these are not more widely adopted and solved in platform engineering.

Is it processes problem?

Platform engineer applicant

Hi i have an interview soon on platform engineering, been spending the last few days learning about it throught github/youtube/claude.

But from my experience normally interviewers ask about how to handle specific scenarios, so im kind of worried that i only know the basics of why, what and how platform engineering is done.

Any help is much appreciated. For context its in a bank.
