Looking for an A5 planner

Hi, I need help I’ve been searching forever for a planner! I like the layout of the 2026 Day Designer planner but the 2027 mini weekly has so many extra pages I just won’t use.

I’m looking for a planner that’s: - A5 - spiral bound - soft flex cover, preferably a plastic protector - weekly - not a ton of extra pages like expenses and checklists - monthly tabs - nd this might be asking too much but where in the weekly spread they split Saturday and Sunday into half a square lol

I really like the Plum Paper journal weekly soft florals horizontal design nnd almost got it but when I was looking at the days of the week with the modern color scheme some days were randomly lined colored and some were gray? I know that’s small but it would bother me I think.

If anyone could suggest anything to me I would be so gratefull I’m stressing for the New Year! And if anyone has the Plum Paper journal with the modern color scheme can they tell me if their journals look the weird way they were showing online?

A6 avec cousin

Sorry if this has been asked but I want it all. I want monthlys weeklys and dailys but easy to carry around. Does anyone have any recommendations for something that would be similar to an A6 Avec Cousin?

I have been using a redated 2024 A6 Hon since June. I have drawn on the January and February daily pages to be my weeklys and using the back of the year as my dailys. March, April, and May are over flow journal pages.

I purchased a weeks mega for 2027 but I’m not sure if I like the layout or size.

Any help would be appreciated!

Remorse? Anxiety? were your eyes bigger than your wallet? I’ve been there, many years in a row.

skip all the fatigue from trying to mimic what you unintentionally have been influenced to think you need.

Focus on what you like and what works for your brain. What makes YOUR life easier?

Find a NOTEBOOK that you like (I prefer Sterling ink grid in B6) with the paper that you like in the size that you like. I know you have a favorite.
Just get the notebook! dot, grid, blank, whatever tickles.
Then buy a cover that you love. My go to is always clear because I can never leave it alone.
Then always have an extra cover for back up that you also love. This one just feels like a luxury. And for me it really pays off. Anytime you need a fresh start, clear off your cover or get a new notebook refill. you won’t feel the guilt of planner remorse.
Personally, I don’t need a pre-printed date. I like the idea of the consistency, but there’s way too much guilt and anxiety attached to a book giving me zero choice of either being forced into false creativity or the guilt and shame of back filling.
My pages starting the beginning and end on the last page. There are no sections. It’s chronological …like my life. Anything else wouldn’t make sense for me. Not to mention, I save so much more money. Which intern you could use on the supplies instead of buying 18 planners. You can actually enjoy the supplies that way. Find your preferences, stick to them, save your money. There’s too much disappointment out there. And if you do find something you like you really hold onto why. 🤷‍♀️
Here’s the sign you need if you needed one. What could go wrong?

Sorry if there’s any grammar spelling errors whatever. I have too many things to worry about. Good luck to you all, don’t turn something you love into anything but.

Vertical weekly planner that also has dated daily pages and is grouped by month

I tried a Hobinichi Cousin this year and did not like having to switch between the monthly, weekly, and daily pages. So for 2027, I ordered an Aura Estelle B6 Daily because I liked that the pages were grouped by month. However, I'm realizing that I really need a vertical weekly to see my week at a glance AND dated daily pages for my daily notes/tasks.

I think I found that the Take a Note fits this criteria but are there any other ones I should check out?

I know I'm a bit late to planner season, but I thought I had found what I was looking for!

Best pens, highlighters, dot markers & mini stamps for Cosmo Air Light 75gsm

Hi everyone! :)

I’ll soon receive my planner with paper I have no experience with. I’m looking for recommendations for pens, highlighters, dot markers and mini stamps that work well on Cosmo Air Light 75gsm paper. I’m especially curious about Zebra Mildliners vs. Tombow Dual Brush Pens, but I’m also open to other suggestions, particularly for soft pastel colors, dot markers and small stamps for journaling. My biggest concern is avoiding bleeding and minimizing ghosting as much as possible, since I’d love to use both sides of the paper. Has anyone tested these on Cosmo Air Light 75gsm? Which brands work best, and are there any I should avoid? I’d especially appreciate photos showing the back of the paper! Thanks so much!

ISO multi project undated planner/notebook

Basically I'm looking for Asana or Trello but in a notebook form.

I don't know if this exists, but has anyone heard of an undated project planner that is bundled by project not date?

I'm thinking a notebook that has some or all of the following:

- project cover page

-project goals

-undated calendars

-gantt chart

-kanban board

-Eisenhower matrix

-to do lists

-meeting notes

-And then repeat for the next project

At work I contribute to multiple projects that range from months to years, and would like to consolidate all the tasks, planning, and notes into one book instead of spread between multiple softwares, notebooks, and planners. Anyone have any suggestions?

What do you track in your planner? And how often?

What the title says! What habits/information do you track in your planners, and how often do you update it? Is it helpful? Why? 🙇

Context: I needed a clean slate from my TN planner inserts from the rest of this year, but it’s too soon to use my 2027 Hobonichi so I’m setting up a temporary bullet journal (in a blank insert in my TN). I’ve tried and abandoned the bullet journal like ten times while I was in school, but I live or die by my planner now so I gotta make something work until 2027 hits 🤪

On a separate note, I generally like a vertical weekly setup, but there were no cute vertical weeklies and I wanted to try a more daily practice next year, so I decided to go with the 2027 daily Hobonichi. I’m trying to work out now what would be beneficial to track starting next year :3
(I did also get one of those tiny cat Midori planners to carry with me everywhere so I don’t miss appointments, etc.)

Printables to bound planner... Any experience?

Exactly what it says on the tin. I love the planners from Creffective and their printables would be amazing if I decided to go that route since they're a little more pricey even before shipping gets involved.

So I'm hoping for advice if anyone has been able to print a bound copy of their planner from a printable? Who did you use? I can't do binders really as a leftie so I really would prefer stitched/ bound over rings.

Appreciate y'all!

Sterling Ink N1 Flex

Every year I pick a planner layout/size to try. For 2027, it's the N1 Flex. Originally, my Daily Driver was going to be an A5 discbound with grid monthlies and plain grid pages. After receiving the N1 Flex Compact, my plans changed.

So I ordered the Full Year version and it will be my Daily Driver.

Of course I wondered how I would use all the daily pages, since I don't need a separate page for each day.

Here's my setup.

Pages 1-20 Commonplace/Reference

Pages 21-318 Daily Pages

Monday-Wednesday (all three days on one page). Thursday - Sunday (one page per day).

1 Cover Page per Month (December 2026-December 2027)

Pages 319-367 Notes

Of course, this will be adjusted if needed.

I LOVE the open planning space with the minimally placed timelines.

Hopefully, this layout will be available in other sizes (B6 or B6 Slim) in the future

Pre-ordered H&O but eyeballing AE?

For starters, I am very aware of the conversations around Aura Estelle and want to note that that definitely is weighing in to part of my decision making currently.

Looking for a bit of advice, hopefully from someone who has used both Hemlock & Oak and Aura Estelle. I have a Daily/Weekly from H&O currently for this year and while I loooove the paper, and have pre-ordered another D/W in horizontal for this next year, I don't 100% love the formatting and have eyeballing other options. I do a mixture of to-do lists and journaling, and I'm more of a 'let me kind of make my own layout without too much of a backbone' person. I really like the simplicity of Aura Estelle's pages (I dont tend to use the schedule/hours and somewhat dislike the boxes that are on the H&O pages) and I reaaaaally like the monthly trackers, however I worry about liking the TRP (I have a hobonichi weeks and could kind of take it or leave it) and switching to a different brand. Hobonichi cousin is a no-go for me because I am def. a horizontal girly, and love that it's becoming a more popular option!

Thoughts?

How many of you buy multiple planners/setups just in case?

Curious to know what other people do in situations like mine - or not like mine but somewhat in the vicinity of similar.

After lots and lots of research and planner soul searching, I decided to buy a Faded Chronicle in B6 size for 2027. It’ll be my first year using the planner, and I couldn’t/can’t figure out a good way to try the layout ahead of time. (I have a brain injury and really need to trial an actual copy of a prospective planner to know if it will work well for me. Unfortunately, my efforts to track down a 2026 version of the FC planner were unsuccessful.)

As January looms closer, I’m feeling more and more nervous about what I’ll do if the FC turns out to be a poor fit. My planner is so essential to my ability to function that I’m terrified of life without a functional planner.

The concern is leading me to consider getting what I used last year (a Hobonichi Weeks Mega and A5 Hon) as a backup. It would be expensive to do, and I’d feel really bad if they went to waste - and I also made the hard choice to switch for good reasons. So I’m not sure about this idea.

Just wondering how many folks out there have done something similar in the past (or for the upcoming year) and how it went?

Any experiences would be really helpful to hear about - or advice, even if you don’t have experiences to share.

Either way, thanks for reading this :)

Cheaper muji planner alternative?

Hello,

I'm usually not one to use planners, but ever since starting with Uni, the Muji undated planner with monthly and weekly spreads has been a life saver. It seems to have been discontinued though. Now, I don't know the first thing about planners, but the price (which adds up to roughly 20€) seems a bit too high for one.

What I need:

  • Weekly spreads (1 week per page with space for notes; right page with just notes not needed, but preferred)
  • Monthly spreads
  • notes space in the back
  • preferably dated (2027)
  • Preferably max. 10€
  • No aesthetic design necessary, but no visually busy pages

Discbound Planners on the Shelves ... Help! How to Organize so I Can Read Year, Topic (Gratitude, etc.) Without Pulling Them Out

I'm stumped. I've been roaming around Pinterest for a while and then remember Reddit! Yes!!!! Here's my quandary:

I have lots of Discbound Planners that I want to keep. I've got them lined up on a bookshelf (or four; fine, SIX) and all the disc colors are pretty as you stand there and look at them. But I can't tell what's what without pulling them out.

Many are Happy Planners. Some are Franken-planners I built myself. So fun to do.

I've seen one solution where a series of these plastic storage sleeves were lined up with labels on each sleeve. Then the planners were placed within them. Maybe four to a sleeve. It's a solution but meh.

There's also little tabs or circles you write on, then hang down from a string tied to the top disc ... wondering how they would work if you wanted to open up the planner or I guess, technically journal for some, and lay them flat on the desk.

Whew. Thanks in advance for your time in reading this - and especially for any comments or suggestions you have. Really appreciated!!!!!

Like LEUCHTTURM New Work Journal but without all the extra stuff?

I picked up a LEUCHTTURM New Work Journal and I really like the layout - especially the daily todo list and half hourly daily schedule. However, I haven't gotten a lot of value from the weekly themes, space for weekly reflection, or bonus stuff like "What made you laugh this week?"

I've almost completed the 3 month journal and am looking for a replacement - any suggestions? A5 or A6 is fine, undated is great (I don't need weekends!) My daily personal journal is a Hobonichi HON (which feels like overkill for work) and I also use a Weeks for daily work planning/todo list catching - but I love having space to plan my day!

How do you decide how to date your planner?

I use a discbound system, typically with a monthly layout followed by the weekly layouts for that month. Each month with its monthly layout and weekly layouts is separated by a divider.

In this type of system, how do you decide how many weeks go behind each month? For example, if a month ends on a Thursday, do you put that whole last week of the month behind the previous month’s tab or the next month’s tab. Let’s say the last day of March is a Thursday. Does the whole last week of March go behind the March tab or the April tab? Do you split it? Do you repeat days?

I usually include a dated planner in my stack so I have an example to go by, but next year, I have the planners I need.

Hobonichi Techno Cousin VS. Kokuyo Jibun Techno (DAYs) - Your Experience/Thoughts

As the title says.

I have been using the Hobonichi Techno Cousin for years but for some reason I feel its too much for me. Anyone tried the Kokuyo Jibun Techno DAYs?

I just got the Kokuyo for 2027 and it seems to be for people not doing as much stuff or for drawing.

Just wanted your thoughts.

Notebook covers for hobonichi weeks style planner?

I've been wanting a cover for my hobonichi weeks dupe, because I want to keep the pens and highlighters I'll use in the planner with it. However, I can't figure out what size I should get. I don't mind if the cover is wider than the weeks, but I don't know what I should get to accommodate the height. I want it to be able to store 6-ish pens/markers plus my weeks. I'd like it to be under 20 USD if possible and if it's on Amazon that's ideal, but not necessary. I don't know if something like this really exists but I thought I'd ask!

(For anyone curious the planner is 7 and a half inches tall, 3 and 3 quarter inches wide and about half an inch wide)

What is the point of having the previous year's calendar printed in a dated planner?

So many of the 2027 planners I looked at, including the two I ended up buying, have this multi-year calendar spread that's just tiny calendars for 3-4 years with no space to write anything, including a full 2026 calendar. What do people use these for, especially the year that's already over?

I just love my A7 rings, so wanted to share some of my pages with other planner people! I use Filofax's week-on-two-pages inserts in my Moterm planner. I also have the one line a day insert but it's for 2027 so it's all blank for now.

I've found myself having a lot of fun with adding little collages. I've been using some silly old clippings from a vintage market, newspapers, stickers, other bits and bobs. Makes it more fun for me. Anyways, thanks for reading.

Do you hold on to your old planners?

I have all of my old planners, including ones I only used for part of a year. I have kept them all, but the collection has gotten a bit out of hand, and I never refer back to them. I think I am afraid that I will suddenly "need to know" when I did (fill in the blank).

The influencers I follow are a mixed bag. Some keep every planner, lined up neatly on a shelf, while others who are functional planners toss them at the end of the year. (I decorate my planners, if that makes a difference.)

Planner with daily hour blocking AND a large weekly to-do list?

Post image
42 Upvotes

Hey guys! This year I have the Erin Condren Hourly LifePlanner, and I do really like the time blocking by hour. But I find that the small to-do list column on the hourly page is not enough space, so I have been writing those in a separate notebook as shown in the picture. I need a full page or so for my weekly to-do's. I don't want a daily to-do space, I am fine to pull from the weekly list and assign it to hours on the day-by-day view. Can you recommend a planner? Or how to customize the EC – I didn't see what I wanted as an add-on? Thanks!

Do you write across one line or two?

I recently got a Sterling Ink Planner. This is the first time I'm using a book with such a tiny grid! I could possibly write on every line (and probably will for to-dos and such), but feel more comfortable leaving a line space for long-form writing.

Do you write on every line or take two when you write in these tiny grids?
