ANNOUNCEMENT Announcement: No More Breed ID Requests
We've noticed an increase in "Is my cat a Persian?" posts. These are repetitive and don't align with the intent of the community.
Starting today, breed ID requests will be removed. If you're unsure of your cat's breed, we recommend doing research through reputable sources or consulting with a vet or breeder. You can also try posting on r/catbreeds.
Thanks for helping keep the sub on topic and enjoyable for Persian cat lovers!

Happy floof Sign from my late Persian
I lost my little soulmate Darth almost a year ago, on the 29th October 2025. It absolutely broke my heart and I will never be the same.
Well, yesterday my husband noticed this dried spill on our furniture where she used to sit.
I have a video too which I wish I could share.
There really is an uncanny likeness to Darth! I love her and miss her so much.

Glamour shots The face of my new naughty little boy.
My full Dearheart Persian 2 years old and 4-5 pounds. His grandparents were in Fancy Feast ads. I got him and his brother 2 weeks ago. The brother is in hiding mood still but this little guy follows me everywhere. He also loves to stand up for some reason haha and he is always up to no good. I’m bias bc he’s my son but I think he’s the cutest cat I’ve ever seen.

Recent grooming
I took my Persian, Millie, to the groomers last week. It is a forty minute drive from my house, but in my area, it is difficult to find a cat groomer.
I had visited them a few weeks before the groom as they wanted to assess her. I told them that Millie doesn't like travelling and could I just send photos. I assured them that she doesn't have any mats, I just wanted her fur thinned out, claws cut and a sanitary cut. When I was there, I viewed through the glass a cat on the table being groomed. He had a mask on, and the groomer stepped away to have a conversation, obviously in no hurry to get the groom completed, to remove the mask. I explained to the groomer that I wouldn't want Millie to wear a mask, as I rescued her from the groomer and it has taken me a while to earn her trust. He said that they had to use a mask with this cat because, "He is a biter."
Come the day of the groom, I dropped Millie off and they said for me to return in around an hour and a half. I visited after an hour, just to check on her, and I could see through the glass that Millie had a mask on. There were two grooms taking place, a dog was on the other table and Millie was on hers. The two groomers were having a conversation, in no hurry at all. I was upset to see the mask on Millie and I asked if they could hurry up and left. Understandably, Millie wasn't herself for a few days but she seems ok now. Obviously, I will never take Millie there again but I wanted to check some things with you guys.
Am I over-reacting, as I am finding it difficult to forgive myself for putting Millie through this.
Is it common for groomers to put a mask on cats, bearing in mind that the groomer told me that Millie had been "Good as gold!"
Take a look at the photograph, sorry it's a little messy, but would you say that she has had an acceptable sanitary trim?

Question First time owner
Hi everyone! I am 85% sure I am going to be adopting a beautiful white 6 month old dollface Persian on Saturday. She’s $600, which seems like a more than fair price, from a family whose cat spontaneously had kittens. They’ve been more than communicative, honest, shared her vet records, etc. I am very excited at the opportunity, and the situation has honestly worked out perfectly, however, I just want to make sure I fully understand what I am getting myself into before I take this baby into my home!
For context, I am a first-time pet owner, but have always grown up and been around pets. We had cats and dogs, inside dogs and mainly outside cats. I was originally looking at ragdoll‘s because I was really intrigued by their calm and docile temperament, but I was approached about a Persian and I have honestly fallen in love. From what I read, they seem to have the same type of lazy/calm behavior. I live alone in a studio apartment and work from home 5 days a week and am home nearly 24/7.
I’m looking for any advice + things you wish you would have known + what you reccomend as a must have for her supplies! 🤍

Care regimen
Hi all!
Been a proud Persian cat owner for 6 years. She is the runt of her litter and is a joy.
I was wondering how you keep up with the maintenance of the little guys (eyes, ears, toes, etc)!
I used to take her to a groomer, but will probably start doing that at home now as costs rise (I’ve been grooming her since she was a baby so this shouldn’t be a problem).
Do you have a tracker for care and/or suggestions for brushes/materials or anything? I was thinking I could put together a care kit with all of her things in it (nail clippers, cotton balls, etc).

Not her walking all the way over to talk to my reflection 😭
She probably thinks I'm standing behind the glass door and only realizes her mistake at the very end.
