So since this semester started I’ve gone through two back packs, currently on my third. I keep most stuff in my bag and I use a humes upright bag so I don’t need a back pack for my mallets, just books and small gear. I usually keep my laptop, iPad, a travel practice pad, 7-10 books and all my little gear like clamps and triangle beaters. Does anyone have recommendations for a strong bag that would be able to hold all this stuff and maybe have a lot a compartments to keep it organized? I’m not too worried about price as I’m going to be using this until it’s on its last life.

You all were really kind about the first one I posted, so here's another! Pretty obsessed with this thing. I think I'm gonna keep making these.

So im planning on doing tenor drums next year and currently the band director lent me the drums, there is no one else who can or has a motive to audition for it so im pretty much guaranteed the drums as we only have 1 pair
So i wanna know what should I exercise in my freebie to prepare for next year's band camp(im not going to a gym so I cant do anything for that)

The body is metal (brass), thick bolts, made in Pakistan, and according to the seller, it was acquired decades ago. It’s 10.5”
It’s aged quite a bit but sounds great.
Does anyone recognize aspects of this or can tell me about it?
I never played one before. But very excited to learn.

I’m a high school pecussionist, and these are the only mallets for timpani my school owns. They once had felt on them but it was stripped off. The branding is very faded but I think it says Vic Firth.
Are these safe to use? I use my own mallets but most other percussionists dont have timpani mallets, so they use these. I don’t want the timpani to get damaged, so Id like to know if these are safe to use. Thank you to anyone who can help.

I am looking for strong opinions on a concert snare drum for orchestral playing, mostly. Somewhere around $1200. It is a gift for a very talented player. I have my own thoughts (I am a percussionist, too), but I wonder what you all think. If your opinion is to let them pick, that’s fine and I totally get that. But, that’s not what I am looking for. Just advice and opinions!

Hello, do any tenor drum people have any tips to help me out getting on tenors (I'm in 8th grade and on them currently for junior high stuff, and I'm hoping to get them freshman year, which will be a really hard task because we have a ton of great players with also more experience, so I need GOOD help, and if this helps, my marching endurance is my weakest point, but idk how to improve it) Thanks!

If you had the chance to teach lessons at a facility that had all of the equipment you could want, including orchestral, marching, and drumline, would you rather set your own lesson times and prices and pay a rent fee each time you teach there, or work for the facility and receive a flat rate for each lesson you teach but you don't have to find students?
For this example, let's use these numbers.
If you are finding your own lesson, you would pay 10 dollars for each different lesson you teach. A lesson being any time you teach someone and they pay you money for it. So you could charge 60 and take home 50.
If you are a hired teacher. You are put on a list, and people could come by looking for lessons. Let's say there are enough students that you are able to have as many as you want a week. For each lesson, you receive 15 dollars per 30 minute lesson you are assigned.
Which option would you choose and why?

Hi everyone, I hope you’re doing well! this community helped me a lot with pieces researching but I don’t know if it’s the right place to ask for help with pricing and selling. Sorry if not, feel free to ignore me ahah.
I’m interested in selling my first mallets, the ones I used when I first started playing 🥹
do you have any advice on how much I should price them (could be for the single pair or for the whole set, I just desperately need advice ahah) and on where I could sell? (I’m in Europe!)
thank you in advance!

I'm struggling to find the name of what sounds like a cymbal of varying pitch being dipped in and out of water at the beginning of this track from Fantastic Planet. I hear it often in 70s soundtracks.

I kinda fell in love with this thing. It's so hypnotic to listen to and to play. I wrote this while playing around with it. (Key of D)
