I’m looking for advice from anyone who has dealt with a similar Stripe situation.
Stripe has been holding €3,249.49 from my account since October 2024.
After the account/payment issue, I was told that eligible card payments would be refunded. Stripe then told me that if a balance remained after those refunds, the remaining funds would not be made available to me, referring to Section 5.6 of their Stripe Payments terms.
The problem is that they have never properly explained to me:
I have emailed Stripe multiple times asking for a proper accounting and explanation. They have now stopped responding to my emails.
The €3,249.49 has effectively been locked for around 2 years.
Has anyone here had Stripe retain a balance for this long?
If so:
I’m not looking for legal advice — mainly trying to understand whether this is normal Stripe procedure and what the most effective next step is.
I can provide screenshots of Stripe's response if useful.

Billing infrastructure shouldn't be a black box. Built in the open for speed, clarity, and control.
Meet QUANTUM BILLING :
QuantumBilling is a Phoenix LiveView application for Indian business billing: clients, GST invoices, document templates, credit/debit notes, e-way bills, recurring billing, payment links, reports, and compliance reminders.
It uses Elixir, Phoenix, PostgreSQL, and Oban. Business data is being separated into PostgreSQL schemas, with shared accounts and business memberships in `public`.

Hey all, hope this is ok to post here. I’m a co-founder of a fintech that’s been created for the adult industry. Payments amongst the industry, along with getting debanked and kicked off payment platforms, is a massive problem right now.
Vaultus is build by the adult industry, for the adult industry. We have contactless cards; Mastercard licensed cards; batch payment capabilities, competitive transfer fees and FX rates and you can hold multiple currency accounts and send payments in over 60 currencies.
I’ve also started a sub if anyone is interested in more info: r/debanking.
Any questions, feel free to message!

I'm trying to understand how this works in practice for businesses that use Stripe.
When a payout includes multiple transactions, fees, refunds, or adjustments, how do you verify that the final amount matches your records?
Do you usually rely on Stripe's reports, export CSVs into a spreadsheet, use accounting software, or follow another process?
I'm particularly interested in how the workflow works from start to finish and which parts require manual checking.
I'm researching this area before deciding what, if anything, is worth building. No need to share private financial information.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi, I'm a small business. Which is to say I'm a freelancer doing a niche thing (I do hand-made electronics - bits of engineering, bits of programming, a whole lot of hassle). My clientele is sometimes from another country so we need to settle on one way to pay for things. For convenience sake, I've been offered crypto more than one time and I kinda started considereing it. But that doesn't work for tax reasons (mostly, because I need to show the earnings and actually get the money in my currency). So if you know of any platforms that have the functionality for that kind of thing - note them down in the comments. Thanks.

I’ve been thinking about building a payments product in crypto, but I don’t want to build another exchange, wallet, or “buy crypto with card” app. I’m more interested in the boring but important part: making crypto payments feel as easy as Stripe for devs and merchants. Before I commit months to it is this something you’d actually want, or is the market already too crowded? What’s the biggest pain point you have with accepting or sending crypto today? Would you use a tool that makes crypto payments simple, or do you think fiat rails will always be the bottleneck?

I'm at a stage where I think I can launch a second store under a different brand/category/audience, but I'm not sure if I should keep the merchant accounts separate or create a totally new one specifically for this. From what I understood, this at least gives me a safety net if one brand gets a flag (the other won't be affected). But then, I'm worried this might cost too much for smaller operators like me since there's going to be two sets of overheads. Just curious if this is standard practice, and at what stage should I do it (if ever).

My business paypal account was permanently deactivated last month during the application process of ID verification. Apparently, the photo I submitted wasn't clear. I emailed support but didn't get any response. I had one personal account as well with a different email.I made it before making the business account. No bank account was linked to both. So, I converted my personal account to business account and the ID verification was also successful. I am currently using the same account. Now paypal is asking for verification of the deactivated account after a month of appeal.
Shall I give them the documents and tell them to close this account as I am using a new account? Will it affect my new account?

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice from people with experience in payment processing, acquiring, or PSP partnerships.
We operate an e-commerce business registered in the UAE, UK and have customers in Iraq who want to pay for our digital products using Visa and Mastercard issued by Iraqi banks. Unfortunately, our current payment gateways are not accepting these transactions.
We’re trying to find a reliable solution that can:
I'd really appreciate your inputs.

Hi everyone!
I run a high-risk e-commerce business and have been trying to find a payment processor or merchant account provider that can work with my industry.
I've already reached out to a few providers, but the application process has been pretty demanding. Some have asked for extensive documentation and even required an in-person inspection of my business.
For those who operate in high-risk industries, how did you find a processor that was a good fit? I'd appreciate any recommendations or advice on what to look for when evaluating providers. Thanks in advance!

Just as the title suggests, if you have any recommendations please let me know. I've been stuck on this issue for quite a while now, I have CCBill as my payment processor, I just need a bank. I've tried reaching out to CCBill's payment facilitator as well, but I haven't gotten a response back yet. I've reached out to every bank and credit union in my local, and I've been denied from basically all of them (I live in a somewhat conservative area). My business is 100% legal. I am legit willing to bank out-of-state, anywhere from Alaska to Florida, as long as I can bank online, and they're willing to work with me. Just to clarify, I'm in the adult-entertainment sphere of things, so the major banks are all pretty much out of the window.
DM's are open, and more than appreciated.
Thanks in advance. If there's an obvious answer, and you want to call me an idiot, I'm all for it.

There are a lot of companies which fall under the same broad category - payments. Why so many needed? How do they differ?
r/payments • u/niko686 • 3d ago
Do you think that it is essential for saas to buy an app that will try and recover all your failed payments and overdue ones or you are willing to awkwardly chase those payments and manually deal with it.

finding a payment processor for my business has been such a headache. i thought it would be a simple process, but one provider kept asking for more paperwork and another was vague about fees and payouts. now i'm second guessing everything because i really don't want my money getting stuck later.
i'm fine paying a little more if it means consistent payouts, clear terms, and support that actually helps.
anyone running a high risk business in the us? who are you using, and has it been worth it?

Imagine you could enroll once and then pay at participating stores just by touching a fingerprint reader .. no phone, card, or wallet needed.
Curious what people actually think.
