Working for a IT bodyshop as J1 in another country, another time zone, remote. Got offered J2 at $115k at another IT bodyshop but requires 40 hours in office.
Going to chat with my Point of Contact in a bit regarding any flexibility on it? I can't believe people with a single job are also putting up with it. I don't need the flexibility for J1, I do need it to get used to RTO and get other affairs in order. Wonder how folks with kids are even managing these brutal work hours.
Apparently, I can't even step away for more than 20 minutes without "prior" permission from the client. All meetings with cameras on.
Might quit in next few minutes.
Edit: J1 pays about $40k in my home currency.

Welp I was laid off from J2 today, I was only there for 6 months, it was fully remote, $60k. They cited budget and restructuring as the reason.
I was laid off from my other J2 back in January 2025. It took over a year to find the new J2 and I’m back at square one again.
Ugh at least I’m not unemployed…

Well first time OE can’t believe I lasted 8 months!
It was a whirlwind a rollercoaster! Cant believe J2 had the nerve to let me go lol they say they’re getting rid of my role altogether clowns!🤡
If a company gives you bad vibes from the get go stick to your gut, it probably won’t get better - some teams are just toxic
Make personal judgements on how much time and energy you are willing to give each job and stick to it
All in all grateful I was able to get rid of 30k debt and save some.
Now we will see what’s next !!

Hi all, I’ve been pretty good with juggling multiple jobs so far. For almost 6 years I’ve been on and off stacking. For the first time I’m starting a 4th job and curious. For anyone else who has been having 3 or more, what helpful tips do you have? I don’t want to give mediocre or underperforming work. I try to automate some work and want to know what else I can do in the meantime. I I won’t be doing this for more than 2 months since 1 is a contract but for that time I want to make it work without having to quit one

Hi all - looking into J3 that utilizes the same HR platform (Justworks) as J2. I have the offer in hand. From my own research, it seems setting up Justworks with separate emails might be OK. For tax purposes, I understand JW has to treat each company as an individual entity, so not too worried there. From a benefits standpoint, I get them through J2 - will be declining J3 benefits
How about shared SSN, address, etc across two employee profiles? This seems risky to me. Will my profile show a job change or anything like that if I onboard J3 through Justworks?
TIA!

On the main sub of a big tech firm, someone stated that HR asked why they left some work history off of their resume. This was found during the background check. Is it common for HR to locate unlisted jobs on candidates job history? Seems like a big risk to OEing.

Currently on 4J and some days are insanely high stress. The money is so good and I’m torn. When did you know it was the right time to quit a J? Or if you stuck it out, do you regret it?

I wanted to get some advice from the more experienced OEs here. I’m going to be a first-time dad, and since I’ve never taken time off beyond PTO or sick leave, I’m not too familiar with how to navigate the paternity leave process.
For Job 1, there’s no dedicated paternity leave, so I’m planning to take two weeks off using PTO. For Job 2, I have 12 weeks of paternity leave available, and I’d appreciate some guidance on how to apply and what steps I need to follow. One thing I need to be careful about is that I’ll still need to continue working at Job 1 while on paternity leave from Job 2. If anyone has experience navigating a similar situation, I’d really appreciate any advice on the process, what I should be aware of, and how to handle it properly.

Trying to OE for the first time and received and offer from J2. Signed offer and they initiated a background check, but I didn't have to submit any of my employment history?
This has me worried as I exaggerated my titles and dates on resume and was prepared to with everything to pass employment check.
Is it a red flag that I didn't have to enter my employment history on the background check?

Title says it all, it's through American Express but I'm concerned Amex will see something that'll send up a red flag. Has anyone else gotten a corporate cc and run into issues?

J1 will require me to be onsite at some point on a need by need basis, but since I've been hired I've only gone in a few times. Since then, fully remote. I don't even have an office on-site and won't for at least a year or 2 until they expand
I interviewed for J2 just for kicks and ended up getting it. This one is fully remote and in the Pacific time zone (I'm MT). But it's a contract gig, I'm technically an FTE with this company but they partner with one of the FANG companies as contractors
This is my moment to be "over employed" but I'm nervous because I like J1 and don't want to mess it up if I'm caught. J2 is the one I'd sacrifice if needed

Making more money would be nice, but I honestly just want a job that I will enjoy more, however I don't want to give up the safety net that my current job provides. Right now I'm doing my personal bare minimum (still meets standards for the role) because I have no passion for this job, but the benefits are great and the pay is decent. For the past few weeks I've been realizing that my job would be very easily automated and I can set that up + remote access so I can jump in to resolve anything more complex than usual, and find a second job. However, I am often too ambitious and too quick to jump into things without fully thinking it through. Has anyone does this, or even if you haven't, what are your thoughts?

Something sparked a thought when answering another question, which is how people are using AI to help them OE effectively.
I'm a programmer so I use it a lot just for direct work (for the programmers out there I use cursor and copilot and Claude code -- different clients have different requirements), but I also use it to manage my time, help with questions, get through my communications, and I also have been developing some software to help manage the whole enterprise. I know I should be using something like grokbot, but I haven't got around to it yet.
I'd be interested if others would like to share how they are leveraging AI to make their OE experience better.

We have built our platform to over 180K users in 6 months and have over 11 Million views and 300K impressions across our channels. Im great at growth and trying to bring these skills to a another company whos trying to hire me
