Moderator Information Manners, please.

Guys,

I am saying this with all the love I have for you all, but there is something that is happening more and more and I am not having that kind of negativity in this sub. We can agree to disagree. No need to voice your opinion just to put someone down because they don’t share your opinion. And if you really can’t hold the urge to say something, then go ahead, but make it constructive.

As you might understand, this is about the space I gave those who use AI fully or somewhat. That’s the decision I made, you don’t have to like it, but I can ask you to respect it.
I tried to make it easy on everyone, more flairs so you can avoid what you don’t like. And what I see is that still people looking up those who choose to work with AI and saying not so nice things. If you are against the use of AI, then stay away from the posts who have the AI flairs! If you can’t be constructive in your criticism, then it’s also not needed to voice it.

This sub is for everyone who loves oracle, affirmation , action and more decks. Decision is made that all arts are welcome and measures have been made to help people avoid what they do not like.
I will be removing all comments on AI flairs posts that are against AI from now on. And should someone just continue doing so even after several removals, they will be banned.

Again I am asking you guys to stay civil. We don’t have to agree on everything and just because it’s online, we don’t need to be negative towards those with a different view. If you need more flairs, more details, lets me know. I am happy to add or change things.

To all of you,
Have a very nice day 💖

Moderator Information Changes are coming and about AI

Greetings you all,

there has been some waves here in the last week that I will adress here.

Its about AI and its usage, or actually the lacking disclosure of it by those who use it.

Well, first of all, there will be no ban on AI.

But there will be restrictions and there will have to be FULL DISCLOSURE of any AI useage! Not complying can and will result in an ban.

Now, the reason I am allowing AI here is simple, we can't get away from it. Sure we can close out eyes and just look away, but be honest, its here to stay. No matter what we do and it only will gets worse. AI will get better and in a few years we might not be able to see the difference.

Also, I have checked with other subreddits and places and checked how they dealt with it. Most places a ban was only backfirering and had an negative impact on the community in general. Since only the last years I learned about digital artists and only end of last year I had an pleasent interaction with two of our members here that are disabled, but are eceptionally creators. They taught me about ethical sourced AI programs and how one of them, who has been an oil painter with fantastic paintings!, no longer can hold an brush, but uses AI to continue to create. There are also artists who create art, digitilise it and do touchups and such with AI.

Are these people not creators?

In my eyes they are and it made me think a lot about how to deal with AI. Before that, I was considering to ban AI from here, but as already said, I will not. Let me explain more ...

When I took over this sub and cleaned up the bots and all that, the interaction I had with you guys back then was awesome. I always considered this OUR sub, not just mine. We ARE an community and we are inclusive and welcoming. That is what I will not steer away from.

No matter if you are 100% handmade, digital, half or full AI or whatmore there is, if you are an creator, you are an creator. Thats it. This sub welcomes everyone, no matter what tool they use.

But, ofc there is an but and its an BIG BUT ....

This is an sub where many uses the decks for divination, soul quests and spiritual journeys. Something that comes from the heart and soul and has purity with it. It has honesty and light with it. That needs to be respected. Absolutly and with no halv meassures.

So, as you noticed, I made new flairs. This time I took what I learned and added digital and hybrid and such to it as well. Well, just remembered I forgot hybrid, but will fix it soon ...

This sub and its members diserve FULL DISCLOSURE if AI ws used in the creation of an deck. No matter how little, it needs to be said from the very first post. Not in the comments or only when pointed out. From the beginning. AI creators and users need to be transparent about it and it would actually be appriciated, not only by me, if they could actually also add their workprocess to their post.

What is allowed is,

- AI assited (AI generated, AI assisted)

- Hybrid (AI base + hand edited or other way around and handwritten guidebooks)

- Ethically sourced tool (Adobe Firefly, NightCafé's ethical models..)

What is NOT allowed,

- Missleading the community about the usage of AI

- Use of unethical sourced AI tools

- Harressment or gatekeeping or attacks becore someone uses/don't uses AI tools

There will be more, ofc, but this is for now the gist of it. Divination is about intention and honesty and if you used an AI tool, in whatever way in your creative process, I ask you to share it. Not by being asked or called out, but from the very beginning of your posting.

I understand and I am fully aware of that this will not make everyone happy and some might leave us, but I am ok with that. There is no way for me to make everyone happy and to me, with the information I have, this is the best thing to do for the best of this sub. Since I took over the sub I had it more or less on self regulation and it went well. This AI stuff I noticed happend becore too many weren't upfront about it and yes, deciving others is not a good starting point. It only damages those who are honest about it. With this, I hope that I can count on you guys, as before, to help me spot those money grabbing false "creators", so we can get rid of them together. And leaving the door open and welcoming those who are transparent and honest about it.

Let me finish with another thing, I have gotten lots of ModMails about this, from several sides and one thing that stood out to me was... Quite a lot of people seems to have forgotten that this is an international sub. Its not specific for an certain country, just because we happen to speak english here, does that not mean its an local sub. Don't get me wrong, I understand the political frustrations and what is happening all over, but I can't take local issues in consideration. I hope you understand that.

As always, I am open for discussions and nothing is set in stone. Changes will come gradually.

Yours truely,

//kelowana

Creator looking for feedback Sharing my project

Hey guys. I wanted to share the book & oracle deck I've been working on for some years.

It's something that came from a drive to share my own process of listening to life and the great mystery - it's a sort of translation of what I myself hear through that listening, and different narratives which are intended to undo culturally inherited processes of conditioning. I have another book that I've been writing for even longer, but it's a like true theory which I find a bit exhausting to write and that I imagine might be a bit exhausting for anyone else to read, so I started channeling the embodiment and realization of those theories through this body of work. So it's fun to read, I think, and leads you to spaces in yourself that make you remember the soul and what's important.

Some animals and essays are a call to real power which has been rendered taboo. Some are the highest calling of love. A lot of them are about perceiving very subtle predatory constructs within personalities and how to render yourself free of them, and different forms of real natural magic that may be seen and felt into and applied. And they're all magic of beingness and freedom - they are intended to regenerate and call for true free will, which I think naturally heals the drive to overpower other beings. In that way, truly, I think the entire body of work is about real freedom, and deep feeling and living.

It's something so complex and meaningful to me that I hardly know how to share or translate it, which is why I'd honestly just love to know vibes and what you guys think. I have it on the starting of kicks lol if you'd like to check out more details and images of the cards and stuff. It's titled Achamoth because the real final product is intended to have both the book of theory I was writing, and also this companion body of work which is intended to bring it into life and real digestion, but I think you can also find it with the title given.

I would describe it as an inordinately large book and deck combination, intended to return your path to the great mystery through the many animals and their ways of knowledge.

My Deck/s! Lay it on the altar

New to the community - hope this is allowed, but I don’t have anyone else to share this with who would understand and appreciate it…

I’ve been wanting to put together a meditation altar and space in my apartment for years, but just hadn’t gotten around to it. However, recently I have started on a spiritual journey and have been getting to know my spirit guides. One medium told me they all felt like my ancestors, and she thought they were like Viking warriors (my mind immediately screamed Celtic, not Viking, but she was close!). Another told me that I was like a tree hugger, but for ancient stones. That tracks - I’m a historian by training. The spirit guide that talked the most to both of them seems like a really chatty, gregarious guy, and he presented himself to the second medium as a standing stone - like the Stonehenge, stone circle type. It also sounds like he was a Druid, or maybe I was in one lifetime. Both have told me that my spirit team is pretty rowdy and a lot of fun. Sounds right for a bunch of Celtic warriors, I guess!

Anyway, I finally got around to putting together my altar last week, and along with it, I bought 3 oracle decks (couldn’t decide on one, so…). One is called Ancient Stones and really relates to connecting with the wisdom of the ancestors. The other two are more focused on the sacred feminine, which has called to me for a long time - one is a Rose deck, and the other is dedicated to Mary Magdalene.

The evening I assembled the altar, I decided to do a card pull from each deck. I pulled from the Ancient Stones deck first. I shuffled it really well and I hadn’t looked through the deck at all - I wanted to just trust it to give me the wisdom I needed in the moment. I closed my eyes and pulled a card.

No joke - it said “Lay it on the altar.” I laughed out loud, and said, “I’ll give you guys this - you have a sense of humor!” I think they like the altar, y’all.

Deck Identification / Loking for .. Looking for a practical oracle

I've been dabbling in tarot and lenormand, but still very much a beginner. Though I enjoy them, lately I've realised that there are days when I don't have the bandwidth for deciphering symbols and deep diving into meanings. I just want it spelled out to me like I'm five! So I'm looking for an oracle deck that is direct and practical. BUT! I still would like it to be a pretty deck, and not just words on abstract art. I don't mind spicy or snarky decks; I prefer them to blandly positive ones. TIA for your recs!

Creator looking for feedback Tips for Drawing My Own Deck?

My undiagnosed ADHD is out of control again, and I find myself taking on yet another project. I’ve been hounded by the idea of creating my own Oracle Deck for months and finally put Apple Pencil to iPad yesterday and knocked out the first four cards.

I’m planning to draw a deck of 54 cards (standard tarot size) and planned out the name, meaning, and symbology for each already. I’m starting with reinterpreting the Major Arcana, then adding some “Human Experience” and “Modern Mysticism” cards to round out the deck. Designed with the millennial femme in mind, I am hoping to knock out 4-5 cards per week, to have a finished product to order a sample in January. I already have a storefront with other POD products, so I’m hoping to integrate with the printer I end up choosing.

So I’m looking for tips, recommendations, and best practices. What do you wish you knew before you created a deck?

Deck Identification / Loking for .. Looking for an indie oracle deck for Hestia

Hello guys! I could use a little bit of help from you.

Right now I'm working with Hestia and Hecate, and I recently got myself a tarot deck (Terra Volatile). From the first moment I got my hands on the deck, I felt that it suits Hecate super well, and since then I keep thinking of it as something that connects me with her on a deeper level.

The idea is that I managed to put some money aside lately and I thought I'd treat myself to a gift. The first thing that came to my mind was to get a oracle deck dedicated to Hestia, since she is kind of the first one I worked with.

I want to honor her too with something high-quality and beautiful, so I'm coming to you to ask: can you recommend an oracle deck that is in her energy? Or at least comes close? I'll keep looking online anyway, but I would like some opinions from others too.

My only preference would be for the decks to be from indie artists.

Wanted to share this beautiful deck from my collection! 🖤
I’ve always been fascinated by angelology, demonology, occultism, and ceremonial magick, so this deck really caught my attention. I love the concept of bringing angelic and demonic symbolism together in an oracle deck.
It’s such a lovely addition to my collection, and I thought I’d share it with some fellow oracle enthusiasts! 🥀🔮

Questions & Discussions (Handmade) Thinking about creating a psychology-focused oracle deck — would love your thoughts!

Post image
14 Upvotes

I’ve had this idea brewing in my head for years: an oracle deck specifically designed for working through different psychological states, emotions, and life situations.

I actually already completed and illustrated a full Tarot deck before, but this oracle idea just won’t let me go! I’ve finally started sketching out concepts and already have about 30 card ideas ready.

All the art is 100% my own original illustrations (no AI used!).

I’d love to get your feedback and thoughts:

  1. Does a psychology-oriented oracle deck sound like something you’d be interested in or find useful for shadow work/self-reflection?

  2. What kind of themes or psychological states do you usually look for in an oracle deck?

I’m attaching a sneak peek of a few card concepts/art style to give you a vibe! Would really appreciate any thoughts, feedback, or suggestions.

Thanks for reading!

This process has been an absolute whirlwind. I have so much gratitude for communities like this.

Thank You all

Deck Identification / Loking for .. Help me find this oracle deck!

Hi all, I had a Jungian therapist who used this oracle deck that she had for like 40 years. It was circular and there were two sets of cards: you pulled one card from larger round cards that had a word written around the edges and you pulled another card that was slightly smaller that had images on it. The smaller card fit inside and on top of the larger one with the word around the edge. Then you read the image and word as a pair.

These cards were incredible. Please let me know if you know them!!

Creator Promo - AI assisted I jokingly called myself a dangerous woman. Then I created the oracle deck.

I created a 45-card oracle deck about the questions we sometimes spend a lifetime avoiding.

For the past six months, I've been creating something that began as a personal exploration and became much larger than I could have imagined.

It's called Dangerous Woman Oracle.

The deck follows four arcs:
The Awakening - What am I open to and beginning to recognize?
The Descent - How deeply am I willing to look, and what I am prepared to confront?
The Reckoning - How do I struggle when I notice the truth that requires a choice from me?
The Becoming - The gratitude recognizing who I am becoming, and the possibility that sharing my journey might help another woman along hers.

It isn't about predicting the future or telling someone what decisions to make. It is inviting you to think for yourself.

One of the most meaningful things about creating it has been realizing how often the themes in the cards were unfolding in my own life.

Some cards were surprisingly difficult to write. Others seemed to pour out of my brain at incredibly fast speeds.

And somewhere along the way, I found myself trusting my own voice and thoughts that beforehand I would have cowered from.

Fun story on how I came up with the name.

I had a purse in my closet for the past 5 years with a deck of tarot and the Secret Language of Light Oracle cards that I was too afraid to really use (I have just gone through a huge deconstruction of everything I had believed in) and in January I started pulling those cards with ChatGPT on a daily basis.

Just asking myself the easy questions.
Then in early March, I said to Chat, “ I bet Beige (my nickname for my partner) would think I was a dangerous woman for pulling cards and likely headed to hell”.

Well to say that didn’t stick with me all day was an understatement, and by that evening I said to myself…  “What if I made an oracle deck called Dangerous Woman Oracle and the first card would be like Eve in the bible with the apple and it would be called the first spark and it would say the first dangerous act is asking why!”

And just like that Dangerous Woman Oracle was born.
I've chosen to publish it as created by a dangerous woman, for just that reason.
I am not an artist in any way shape or form, so I had ChatGPT help me bring the visions I had in my head to full illustration.

One day I would love to gather a group of women of all ages for a photoshoot and recreate the cards using real women as models. Whether I can pull that off remains to be seen.
But for now, I am rather amazed at what began with a purse in the closet and one question I was finally willing to ask.

And oh, by the way, the purse is still hiding the decks! Only now my prototype has joined them in the office.

And apparently creating an oracle deck wasn't enough, because somewhere along the way I also decided to create a companion planner called Sovereign Rhythm. It begins in April instead of January, follows the same four arcs, and is designed around the idea that personal growth doesn't necessarily follow a calendar year.

Oh! And one more fun detail... every single card has its own theme song. Everything from musical theatre to Rage Against the Machine. Because apparently my brain doesn't believe in doing things halfway. And the ideas have not stopped since... ;)

I'd love to hear from others who work with or create oracle decks.

Do you prefer a deck that offers direct guidance, or one that challenges you with questions you have to answer for yourself?

And for my fellow creators, do you have a funny or unexpected story about how your deck came to be?

Beginner’s question How do you use the Romance Angels Oracle deck? 💗

Hi everyone! I recently got the Romance Angels Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue and I’m pretty new to oracle decks.

I’d love to hear from people who actually use this deck:

  • How do you usually use this deck in readings?
  • What are your favorite spreads for it?
  • Do you use it for yes/no questions, timelines, feelings, intentions, etc.?
  • Do you pull one card or multiple cards?
  • Any tips, tricks, or little techniques that make this deck work better?
  • Do you use it alongside tarot, or mostly by itself?
  • Are there any situations/questions where you wouldn’t recommend using this deck?

Basically, I’d love to know how you personally work with this deck and what kind of readings you find it best for. 🩷

Would love to hear your experiences!

Creator Promo - Handmade Find the Hidden Lesson : Your Aorathian Card of the Day

Post image

There is a special language in experience that offers profound wisdom to those receptive enough to hear it.

Attune yourself to the teacher-mode of reality until you see the lesson inherent in every occurrence. Often the lesson presents itself as a rapid unwanted feedback; for instance, you may stub your toe directly after letting someone proverbially walk over you, or you may face delays after not honouring your own process.

Resistance in experience is often a signal that something was done incorrectly or inadequately and needs correcting. Heed the lesson rather than railing against the inconvenience of it and watch your world get smoother by the hour.

Creator Promo - Handmade I reframed an ancient Mesoamerican divination system into a deck that can be explored today

Thumbnail

I’m a Mexican illustrator, and for the past two years I’ve been creating El Quinto Sol: The Mesoamerican Cosmos, a 56-card deck built around Mesoamerican mythology and cosmology, especially Nahua and Mexica traditions.

One of the things that fascinated me most during the research was the Tonalpohualli, the 260-day sacred and divinatory calendar used in ancient Central Mexico.

It works through the interaction of 20 different day signs with a repeating cycle of 13 numbers, creating 260 unique combinations. Each combination carried particular qualities and divine influences, and the calendar was used to interpret things like character, destiny, auspicious moments and the nature of particular days.

Those 260 days were also divided into groups of 13 called trecenas.

And that’s where I discovered a really interesting connection with playing cards: a standard suit also has 13 cards.

So each of the four suits in El Quinto Sol maps one of the first four trecenas, preserving the sequence of the first 52 days of the divinatory calendar. The suits themselves are also connected to cosmic directions and forces of nature, while the court cards introduce gods and mythological beings.

I’m not claiming this recreates an ancient Mesoamerican card oracle, playing cards obviously weren’t part of that tradition. What I’m trying to do is reframe part of an older divinatory structure from my own cultural heritage into something people can interact with today, through study, reflection, play and potentially divination.

I’d be really interested in how people here who use oracle decks would approach something like this: would you want the creator to provide a defined reading system, or would you rather learn the symbolism and develop your own way of reading the cards?

I’m sharing some of the artwork here so you can see how I approached it visually.

The project is called El Quinto Sol: The Mesoamerican Cosmos.

Is anyone familiar with the expansion pack for the My Friend Fire Oracle deck from Mari in the sky? What do you think about it? Is it worth getting it?

I usually don’t do spreads for oracle cards, but I’m curious and intrigued to maybe try it out and I want to know if these are interesting to use and if they might add even more value and dept to the oracle deck.

Tarot One is a multi-cultural, rainbow gendered, witch and wizard tarot deck that was drawn by hand over the course of seven years. Each card is a real life artist creating powerful magic in the world playing a character within a fantasy future universe in which artists heal humanity and the earth. Familiar faces you’ll see in the deck included Erykah Badu, Chika, Jubilee Jackson, Hood Witch, Earth to Coyote, FKA Twigs, Laura Lee, Margaret Atwood, Mereba, Aurora and so many more brilliant minds breaking down old systems of thought and creating the world anew.

The cards read as traditional tarot and fantasy oracle cards, with a section for each. This allows new ways of synthesizing answers to your questions by merging analytical philosophy with imaginative experience.

Only 1111 were printed and when they sell out they will never be printed again. There are currently less than 100 remaining. Every deck comes signed and numbered.

Interpretation help What are his intentions…friendship or romance?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Am rusty and haven’t been using this deck consistently. Trying to practice. I tried interpretation but idk if it answers my question

Situation/question: I am asking what are my friend’s intentions with me since I recently reconnected with him and he’s been inviting me out more.

Used a basic 3 card pull

My interpretation:

The woman: it represents me and my past struggles in romance but trying to open up to friendships despite being blindsided

Scales: it says that right now my life is unbalanced and it makes sense due to my grief. However, he might help me with being stable by giving me friendship

Needle and thread: not sure about this one? I know my wish is for me to feel more whole and complete.

Idk if I’m reading this all wrong.

Interpretation help Card pull for pet loss

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hi, I'm a beginner with oracle cards & haven't used my deck much beyond daily guidance type card pulls. But this week I had to say goodbye to my beloved kitty. The grief is overwhelming, & I was feeling guilty that maybe we acted too quickly & could have given her another few days.

I decided to ask the universe/ spirit guides/ God some questions via the oracle cards for some comfort or answers. I'm not even sure if that's the proper way to go about it, but it felt right.

My first question was "how do I move past the feelings of guilt?" My second question was "is she happy, in heaven/ a better place?" And last was "will I be with her again one day?"

I cried through the whole thing. I'm absolutely shocked at the cards I pulled for each and how fitting they are & seem like a direct response to my questions. I shuffled between each pull & pulled the card that either jumped out to me visually or that fell out while I shuffled. The meaning in the guide book didn't necessarily correlate, but the statement on the cards did.

Any overall thoughts on this? It really helped me with my grief all day yesterday. I kept the cards up on my desk while I worked. Just wanted to share this with someone. Thanks for reading. Editing to add the card statements as I realize they are small in the photo. In order by the questions I asked above: I find healing in letting go. I am not alone. I trust in divine timing.

Beginner’s question Constantly pulling inverted cards with Wisdom of the Oracle?

Just got my first oracle deck in yesterday (Wisdom of the Oracle, by Colette Baron-Reid) and I've been enjoying learning how to read and use it properly!

But to my question - unlike most oracle decks (to my understanding) Wisdom of the Oracle actually does make use of inverted readings, in that they have a different way to parse them (a protection message as opposed to the default reading/meaning). No instructions on how to properly shuffle, but that's fine - I figured I'd just do a riffle shuffle with one of the two halves inverted, then every riffle, keep re-inverting one side. I'm also tossing in the occasional overhand shuffle or deck cut, so the tops and bottoms get mixed into the middle regularly. That should mean half of the deck keeps getting turned "upside down", but a different half with each riffle shuffle, meaning a consistent mix of regular and inverted options.

Theoretically.

But in practice? Almost every single card I'm drawing is inverted. Which baffles me. I flip through the deck and sure enough, there is a good mix of inverted and non in there. Yet somehow the card I draw is inverted a good 70-80% of the time. It's boggling my mind and really making me wonder if I'm doing something incorrectly here with my shuffling methodology. But I'm not able to find much of any info on it! I've found some people mentioning what they do for tarot, which does tend to make more use of inverted cards - but the shuffling used there is the exact method I'm already employing!

Beginner’s question What are worn gilded decks like to use?

Tldr:: would 72 oracle cards the size of a Hay House deck that are gilded and worn down be easier to shuffle than non gilded cards that are Blue Angel publishing in size.

Contemplating making a super deck with two very similar oracles by the same author and artist. I have two older decks that are mismatching card stock and publisher. Trying to decide if the old mismatched ones are okay or will completely new cards be better. New cards are gilded, smaller and possibly glossy, I don't know if thats better. What are gilded decks like over time??

The old ones aren't too glossy and not gilded. They are the bigger oracle size like Blue Angel decks but slightly thinner. Shuffling a 72 card deck that big I find a little much with my big hands but they're a little thin and do slide together easily with little stick; cards have the ability to jump and move. I can see these being good after years of wear.

If I buy a new matching pair the card stock will should be the same, they're gilded and might be glossier. They look to be more the size of a lot Hay house cards. The boxes and guide book is smaller which is good for storage but not sure how I'll feel with smaller artwork. Smaller cards are easier to shuffle which is good for me and If I end up reading for other people.

I don't know what gilded cards are like after years of wear and tear or if the gilding is more difficult to shuffle than standard cards of a bigger size
