The juxtaposition of the initial drawing and the very rudimentary skeleton made me giggle.

The first one takes time. Now we just gotta get a mold (mould? Mulder? mildew?) from that one and we’re off to the races.

While I'm not religious, it is pretty cool to be named after this badass motherfucker.

Hate to burst your bubble but that 100% is Sanguinius… the Primarch of the IX legion!

Okay, how long would that take and what would something like that cost to buy?

There was a place next to me that used to sell similar things. Based on those id estimate the price between $600-$1,600

That seems cheap (price, not quality). That's a ton of work and wow is that talented.

I like how once he had a basic frame, the butt cheeks were the first feature to be added

I’m no Catholic, but I’m pretty sure you can’t be a saint and an angel at the same time.
Also: how dare you combine a lorica musculata with a fake 12th century kite shield. Have you no sense of historical accuracy?

So... a smith? We do remember that's a job that exists and has a name, right?
Also, Michael looking very Roman/Greek there, as always.
But still, great skills, damn!

But it’s not an instructional video missing out on steps, if he had started out on, “thanks for joining me , today we are going to learn how to craft a statue of Saint Michael the archangel, step 1…”

It’s not instructional but the video was clearly created to show his process. The sculpture goes from basic, metal calendars to completely formed limbs and body.

Not awful taste. This is dope

I mean I wouldn't want it in my house, and tbh I can't think where it would suit, but it still isn't bad taste.

It's gash.
Cleverly made, yes, but really tacky.

Gauche?
-4
u/-maffu- 1d ago
No - gash.
It means something that is a ghastly, gaudy, eyesore.

Sorry, not seeing that definition on Merriam Websters. Completely new to me!
