Haven’t posted anything for a while, so here’s some more USUM info and an update about the Tier List Testing. I’ve tested pretty much every encounter so far with the exception of a few legendaries from the Ultra Space Wilds. The Tier List itself is almost finished, but I still need to write analyses on several of the encounters and would like to post a full google doc alongside the final list once it’s done. Since this game has so many relevant fights to consider, individual analyses are significantly longer than the ones I did in Platinum, with several of them (such as Hawlucha, Infernape, Steelix, Lopunny, Primarina, and more) exceeding a full page length.

Since I’m balancing this passion project alongside my personal life, I wouldn’t expect a full post with the tier list and google doc to be posted until after December. I’ll post other bits of information periodically until then, so stay tuned!

So, on the nuzlocke tracker site, it has the fossil encounters listed in Eterna City, even though you revive them in Oreburgh. Do people count them as Eterna encounters because it's where you get the fossils?

Acerola’s Ghost trial got me investigating an Abandoned Shopping Mart full of ghost types, Fitting since it’s the Halloween month.

While I’m dealing with the Haunted Objects, The totem was pulling a John Cena on me by being invisible. By the time I made it to the end, the totem drops the Pikachu facade and it reveals to be a Creepy Pikachu.

So I’m currently just before flannery on the third leg of my genlocke and I’m wondering how people work the ‘champion’ pokemon. Do you put a limit on how many games a single pokemon can play or add rules like max IVs or becoming shiny. I just don’t want to go through the franchise and by gen 7 I’ve got a team full of starters and the same pokemon from gen one - three.

After failing at a few fire red and emerald nuzlocke’s, I’ve managed to get Leaf green nuzlocke finished! Here is my hall of fame. Now to figure out how to get more emulators on my steam deck so I can try other pokemon games other than fire red/leaf green and emerald

Holy crap on a cracker! This...was...an ordeal.

Honestly, I was seriously sweating Erika (and keep in mind the Erika split is when the negative voices usually start). But I had a plan and was willing to see it through.

First off, in terms of the Fire Red Omega split of the Drayano Gauntlet, I need all the help I can get. So, I split Celadon City into two parts; Celadon City proper and the Game Corner (Honestly, if anyone has a problem with that, that's fine. But this is my run. I know "Your run, your rules" has become a trigger in this community, but this discourse is taking the fun out of something that should be fun for everyone. And I know I'm going to get downvoted for this by people who don't want to hear the truth, but it's something that had to be said). Either way, Scyther and Espeon may be pivotal members in the near future; just hope I don't have to use Espeon in the Elite Four, since Storm Silver and Ren Plat have their own Eeveelutions that are very prevalent for those that are in the know (namely Glaceon and Umbreon).

Thankfully, I had Revali, who came in clutch with Guts and did serious damage to Erika's team. Unfortunately, that meant he fell short to Erika's Windblight Ganon of a Vileplume and paid the ultimate price (and even I realized I wasted Return on Swellow, so that was dumb). However, Magda the Flowerblight Venusaur she was born to be and Richard the Arcanine clutched up and withered the Vileplume instantly, gaining the badge.

On an unrelated note, we lost our industrious Pickup caddy Bena the Meowth, who lost her life to a Zubat, a PP Up clutched in her lifeless paws as she dropped to the cave floor, never to set up shop again.

Anyway, onward to Koga!

The nuzlocke doesn't start until I reach viridian forest. I will be restricting myself to only catching pikachu unless I need to register other pokemon (koga's gym and such), and immediately releasing. I can catch as many pikachu as I want (then release) with a level cap of 5 levels over the next gym. I cannot evolve it. I cannot battle with the starter eevee outside of the beginning of the game, and 5 items in battle. What do yall think? I'm going for a casual playthrough.

Hell of a scare to start off with, taking an Ice Beam metronome from the her Clefairy! Such a terrifying move. I lost my starter in a FireRed run once to Metronome using Sheer Cold.

Infernape and samurott carried the entire game. sammorot on 6 hp soloed half of ghetsis team by itself. and the monkey still lives!!!

Yes I did it with only 5 total Pokemon. This includes HMs. Pokemon are sorted in order of usefulness. Sing with a bulky pokemon is op, especially with Generation 1 sleep mechanics. Beedrill underrated in Gen 1, cleans out Ericka, Sabrina, Koga, Lorelei, and most of the team rocket encounters. Literally the only issue is that sometimes he crits, which undoes your +6 attack. Charizard is lowkey cheeks, but dig being 100 bp is really broken. Seaking is there because I needed to surf, and a water type makes fire old dude, Giovani, Bruno and Lance free. Pidgeot is theoretically not needed, but I like being able to fly and it helps get rid of trash encounters for the rest of this series. I think I only used her to cheese with Sand-Attack.

And no, beating Red with only 5 Pokemon ever used with Hardcore Nuzlocke rules is not hard. I think you could theoretically get down to 3, which someone has probably done before. Generation 1 is buns easy. I have way too many rules, but more or less standard hardcore nuzlocke (first pokemon encountered on every route unless a repeat, level caps, no items, set mode, can only use same amount of pokemon as gym leader, etc.). In order to help my sanity, when i catch a pokemon, even if I never use it, it'll count for dupe clause on that specific game. Oh yeah, and no double team unless a Pokemon naturally learns it.

If it wasn't clear, every Pokemon that I use (i define 'use' as a) sent out in battle b) taught any move at all c) given/taken an item from) in one game, i can not use ever again. The only exceptions are that previously used pokemon can be hm slaves (they cannot under any circumstance be sent out in battle or given items like xp share to prevent other pokemon from over leveling), and I'm allowed to catch any pokemon i want for specific items, i just have to release them immediately after (like catching magnemite for magnets).

I'm not expecting Blue to really be any more difficult, I either get to start with a Bulbasaur or a Squirtle, which are both 1000x better than Charizard.

Ok there's a specific type of randomizer run that I want to do but I don't know if it's possible. I wanted to do a run where types and abilities are randomized, but only for my Pokemon while the opposing Pokemon stay the same. Is this possible for me to do?
