The Cursed Apple and the Ritual await you...
Continuing the theme of the spooky and supernatural October, we have Deadlock. A third-person shooter MOBA developed by Valve and despite being in a closed beta, it has already formed considerable following of players. Although I do not play the game much nowadays, it's always a blast to do so with close friends of mine!
Lore-wise, a what-if the supernatural was secretly always a part of our world, but a celestial event known as the Maelstrom at the end of the 19th century has brought a lot of spirits and supernatural outward, making the supernatural impossible to hide from the general public. Now, fifty years later a second Maelstrom is about to occur as two Eldritch Patrons oppose each other and promise to grant a wish of anyone who helps them to complete the Ritual.
Here is the link to the Deadlock's Wiki if you want to learn more about the setting, eligibility of certain perks (like Harem Rom-Com Genre Shift), more details on certain Waifus, etc.
This issue was completed at the end of May and I specifically wanted it to be a part of this October. As fate would have it, City Never Sleeps, a major update that gorgeously overhauled the Map in many ways while introducing new heroes is ongoing now since September 29, so it is a perfect time to release this week, all things considered.
Back in November 2025, when I released the Valve Pack, I've promised to eventually do Deadlock and Dota 2. Now, it is a promise half-fulfilled and I've made a great amount of progress on the Valve's other MOBA, but it's a low-priority at the moment.
As always, a shoutout to my fellow authors who have helped to make this issue the best it could have been and I humbly thank you, our dear readers, for the continued patronage of our Catalogue, please enjoy it and the Spooky October to your heart's content!
