Post-Botox Two weeks post Botox : feeling amazing!

Had Botox around 2 weeks ago (100 units ga). Was burping day of and have been since. Since as long as I can remember, I have gotten insanely bloated every single day. It’s made me insecure and stopped me from wearing clothes I love. However my bloat is almost completely gone. I cannot believe the feeling of ending a day with no bloat feeling comfortable.
With that being said, it was really hard to adjust to slow swallow. I also had issues drinking water as I would sometimes choke and regurgitate water/ food. However it’s already getting better. Also have been dealing with new acid reflux ( could have been disguised before) but started taking Pepcid and gaviscon.
I do wish my burps could be more silent though.. I often like to go out to eat with friends but haven’t been able to since I will be loudly burping during and after.
I was also able to get back to working out (running, lifting, pilates) 2-3 days after surgery which was great. Was scared of regurgitation with pilates but turned out fine just made sure to have some extra time after eating . However, I have recently noticed shortness of breath while running and definejtly have to take it really slow/ take breaks .
I feel great! I bit worried since a lot of my burps require head turning but have been having one sparkling bev a day to practice. Really hoping this sticks! Also 23F

Post-Botox GET THE SURGERY

I got the surgery (100 units Botox under GA) almost 4-5 months ago (idk lost count) IT WAS THE BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE. I’m still burping every day I occasionally get a burp that gets stuck but laying on my left side helps. I had my first beer today since the surgery and it is such a better experience than pre Botox. I don’t feel bloated or nauseous anymore. 10/10 would recommend DO IT.

Management Tips & Tricks Nausea so bad I can't sleep 😭

It's not regular nausea, it's just that tightness in my throat and difficulty to breathe. I have pain and gurgling in my stomach and my nausea is so bad I can't lay down without gagging... Is there any way to relieve the nausea and pain?? At least long enough for me to rest until tomorrow morning when I can buy some meds?

Symptoms Read, please help,

My symptoms are:

1.- Difficulty or an inability to belch; this can occur while fasting, but it is more noticeable after eating. When I do manage to belch, I feel some relief or a sense of pressure being released.

My belches often smell strongly of the food I last ate—sometimes for hours—and occasionally, when I force a belch, small bits of food or liquid come back up, which may or may not cause a burning sensation in my throat. In the last month, on two occasions, a small amount of acid has come all the way up to my mouth when belching, which has caused me a great deal of distress.

2.- Constant nausea—a persistent feeling of revulsion or disgust, though without actual vomiting.

3.- A sensation of regurgitation; I feel as though what I have eaten is coming back up, though without any burning sensation or actual food particles.

4.- A feeling of heaviness and mild discomfort or pain in the epigastric region or around the abdomen, accompanied by a sense of being overly full or bloated. When I try to induce or force a belch, the pressure actually increases, causing further discomfort and resulting in sounds from my throat that resemble belching. This almost always occurs after eating.

5.- A sensation that food gets somewhat stuck in my throat—particularly with more solid foods, or with pills if I don’t take them with enough water—though I do not actually choke or gag.

Constant bloating/gas, which is more pronounced at night; throughout the day, I also notice that I am continuously passing small amounts of gas.

When I feel unable to belch, it triggers significant anxiety, and the nausea intensifies.

6.- Episodes of hiccups are painful; I experience chest pain, and it becomes even more difficult and painful to belch.

7.- At times, I also feel as though I am swallowing a large amount of air. 8.- Although it is not very common, I have noticed that sometimes—after eating spicy foods, items with a lot of chocolate, or somewhat fatty meals—my throat begins to burn. The burning intensifies when I belch and can persist for one to two days before subsiding.

I have been experiencing this for four years. My diagnosis has almost always been functional dyspepsia or gastritis. I have taken various medications, such as levosulpiride, itopride, famotidine, and even sucralfate. While drugs like amitriptyline or mirtazapine help modulate my response to nausea or the inability to belch—making me feel less anxious, though no less uncomfortable—they do not eliminate the symptoms. This has significantly diminished my quality of life, as it prevents me from living normally. I have undergone an endoscopy, during which specialists ruled out any physical damage or hernias.

The last neurogastroenterologist I consulted advised against seeing an ENT specialist, maintaining that the issue is simply functional dyspepsia—a chronic, incurable condition that can only be managed. He described it as benign and suggested cognitive-behavioral therapy to help me cope with the persistent discomfort in my daily life. He noted that there could be other factors, likely involving the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) rather than the upper esophageal sphincter (UES), that make it difficult for me to belch and may also lead to increased gas production. To make matters worse, my family does not believe that I am truly unwell, which adds to the difficulty.

I have been taking mirtazapine for three weeks. I have noticed a significant reduction in the sensation of being unable to belch, though the problem has not disappeared entirely; after finishing a meal, I feel extremely bloated. When I try to belch, it feels as though I am completely filled with air—yet instead of belching, I experience increased nausea, abdominal distension, and excessive gas, and I still struggle to expel the air that I am unable to release through belching. Is it worth seeing an otolaryngologist?

Other Randomly gaining the ability to burp after not burping for 15+ years.

Hey guys. I used to never burp so I always believed I have RCPD. I’m talking I can eat or drink anything and still nothing. I now randomly am burping atleast 4-6 times a day now. I didn’t change anything or do anything and never forced it. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Post-Botox Specific Question About Slow Swallow

I'm several weeks away from my first Botox procedure and am starting to prepare. I'm getting really panicky about the (potential) slow swallow and worried I'll be really worried and preoccupied with it (and the fear that the sensation will last forever). I know the general recommendation is to take little sips of water and be ready to chase small bites with water. What I haven't seen specifically described is: If you're experiencing slow swallow and you're, say, eating a meal - when you take your sip of water to chase the bite of food, is the relief of the sensation immediate (that is, does the "slow/stuck" feeling pretty much disappear until your next bite?)? OR, is it more of general thing - like the sips of water improve the eating experience overall but the sensation lingers? I hope that makes sense. I'm just trying to mentally prepare. ;) Thanks!

Have never been able to burp and always had excessive flatulence. Lots of gurgling noise after meals that seems to have lessened over the last 10 years. But suddenly have great pain in upper abdomen and chest and back. 99.9 per cent sure it isn't my heart, but 'just' air that needs to get out. i have to try to force the air to move up and gurgle out to get any relief at all.

It seems that I only see younger people on here. Any other oldies?

Research & Studies Thank you: the noburp.info doctor directory has grown from 281 to 304 doctors in 40 countries

Thank you to everyone who responded to my last post. Patients and doctors have used the "Suggest a doctor" button, sent corrections, and emailed me directly, and the directory is better for it.

What's changed

  • 281 to 304 doctors, across 40 countries.
  • Your feedback led to new listings, updated locations, and one removal where a doctor's office said they don't treat RCPD.
  • I also searched published research, clinic pages and community resources and added about 30 doctors, with more in the UK, Denmark, Israel, Malaysia, Singapore, Colombia and Mexico.
  • I removed 13 listings where I couldn't find any evidence the doctor treats RCPD.

Keep it coming

  • Treated by a doctor who isn't listed? Please suggest them. A patient confirming they were treated is the most useful evidence.
  • Something wrong in a listing? (Moved, retired, wrong details, or doesn't treat RCPD.) Please tell me.
  • Doctors: you're welcome to ask for a listing or a correction, including extra clinic locations.

Use the "Suggest a doctor" button here: https://noburp.info/find-a-doctor.html

Listings are checked against public information, so treat them as a starting point and not a medical recommendation.

Thank you again. This is only useful because of people in this community sharing what they know.

New Member Did seltzer make me burp?

I had never burped before (I’m in my 20s), and had dealt with a lot of stomach pain/ cramps after eating. When I started dating my partner, I started burping! I’m pretty sure the only thing that could have facilitated this change was the fact that his family is constantly offering me seltzer and I became a seltzer drinker. Now it doesn’t take seltzer to burp, but maybe that was the catalyst.

Just found this community. Wish I’d found it before my burping issue was resolved. Now I feel like I burp too much, which is a weird thing to complain about after not having burped before. Has that happened to anyone else here? Now it feels like I can’t get through a meal/ snack/ drink without a bunch of burps.

Post-Botox 7 Month Update

Before treatment: On a daily basis I had severe stomach swelling (9 out of 10), massive saliva production, a constant need to air vomit, and severe acid reflux. At social events I had to leave to air vomit, and it was very loud. It altered my life very negatively. I've been on Pepcid daily most of my life. I kept a daily notes app diary logging my symptoms/progress.

Procedure: In-office Botox injection with Dr. Bastian about 7 months ago. At my follow-up 7 days later there were no concerns, and I was getting burps out by turning my head.

First week

  • Day 0: Procedure.
  • Day 1: First involuntary burps. Slow swallow began that night, and I needed water to get food down.
  • Day 3: Two laryngospasm episodes: one while climbing several flights of stairs, and one after food went down the wrong way. Slow nasal or straw breathing resolved them quickly.
  • Days 5–7: A near-spasm moment, followed by a cough I could feel in my vocal cords. It was gone by day 8.

On laryngospasm: Read and follow Dr. Bastian's guidance on it before your procedure, just in case. Because I had watched his video, I knew exactly what was happening. Everything he describes was true, and I was completely fine, but in the moment it's still terrifying. I had also warned the person I was with ahead of time that it could happen and not to panic, which helped.

Weeks 1–8

  • Starting around day 6: I practiced burping with carbonated drinks, about 3 times a day. Turning or tilting my head made burping reliable, and by day 8 I was burping easily with a flat belly in the morning.
  • Slow swallow gradually eased. On day 19 I had one more aspiration and cough episode, with brief throat tightening that I calmed with slow breathing.
  • Other issues: Intermittent sour stomach and reflux (managed with my reflux medication) and mild constipation.
  • Day 38: My first beer produced lots of easy burping. It was fun drinking in public! Alcohol used to make my symptoms 10 times worse. Not this time!

Wearing off (around day 58, about 8 weeks)

The slow swallow was nearly gone, and some burps began going back inward, though plenty still came out. The quality of the burps began to change when the Botox wore off.

At 6 months after, I had the most drinks i've had in years and was able to burp it all out no problem, felt great and was the best experience i've had drinking.

Today (about 7 months out, with no Botox left in my system)

  • I haven't experienced anything like my pre-treatment symptoms since the procedure. My symptoms are reduced by roughly 90%, and what remains is much milder, manageable, and acceptable. I'm doing much better and am very pleased overall.
  • I still sometimes get the urge to air vomit, and occasionally I do. Usually I can just burp when I need to, and sometimes it's a lot! I also have occasional minor swelling, such as after a big social event, but burping relieves it, and it's about 10% of what it was before.
  • My burps range from decent, quiet releases to very big and loud if I need them to be. They're smaller than at peak Botox, which is expected and good, haha. When your full Botox sets in, they can be big and frequent!
  • I've taken acid reflux medication the whole time and still do, but I've cut my dose in half, and that's great. I've also learned to drink coffee with food instead of on an empty stomach, and to cut back on caffeine.

Overall, after 7 months: super happy, no regrets! And I'm saying that as someone who got the rarer, worse side effect: laryngospasms.

In honor of this post, I just burped.

Post-Botox 10 days post Botox

I had the injection 10 days ago with Dr Hicklin, started to have some small burps from day 2 onwards. Really struggling with slow swallow, felt like it was getting better a couple of days ago and then worse again today. My main worry is that I feel exactly the same symptom wise (worse, if anything), even though I am burping (main symptom is bloating and generally just feeling full of air). They’re not the most relieving and I can only get them out about 60% of the time if I’m in a certain position, but it’s most than I’ve ever been able to do I hoped I’d feel a bit different. I also think I could be taking in air as whenever I use my neck muscles in a certain way (like shaker exercises) I feel air go into my throat. Is this all normal? Does anyone have any advice? Thank you :)

Symptoms RCPD + IEM

I've not read many reports here of Insufficient Esophogeal Motility (IEM), so I thought it prudent to add my experience with RCPD and IEM.

TL;DR: I have IEM, and on second round of botox. Botox is still worth it, even with IEM complications.

I have RCPD. First botox treatment confirmed this, as burps began to escape on day 1 after treatment until about day 60. Then it regressed again. During that treatment window, I had some significant 'regurgitation'. We couldn't explain it. I would just have food and/or stomach contents in my mouth with no effort, sometimes an hour after eating. Usually when bending over. The theory was insufficient LES. I eventually decided that I shouldn't force any burps, since they usually would be accompanied by regurgitation. And thus, I don't think I exercised the burping enough, and lost it within 3 months of treatment.

Before my 2nd botox, we did an Esophageal Manometry study and found I also have IEM (Insufficient Esophogeal Motility). Of those recorded, I had 10/10 Ineffective swallows -- 4/10 were Weak, and 6/10 were Failed. There's very low amplitude to my peristaltic wave, the constriction of the esophagus from UES to LES. This was disappointing, but not surprising. It explained my occasional (and worsening) dysphagia that I experienced prior to botox (though, less on botox).

We did the 2nd botox, knowing this, and also ordered a Barium Swallow with esophageal sweep to track the bolus through the entire esophagus. It's pretty obvious now, with that data, that food stops mid-way down my esophagus and just chills there... for a long time. I timed it and for about 45 minutes after eating, the bolus freely moves back up into my mouth. Sometimes also stomach contents. It's worse when reclined.

All that to say, at least the botox makes the IEM more manageable. When dysphagia hits, and food backs up to the UES, it's incredibly uncomfortable, and (pre-botox) I would feel like I'm choking, but also able to breathe. Just standing (or leaning) over a sink) hyper salivating and waiting not-so-patiently for the bolus to clear. Which takes 5-10 minutes.

Dysphagia still happens on botox, but at least I can apply diaphragmatic pressure and force the regurgitation upward and back out. It's not pleasant, but I'm also not waiting up to 10 minutes for the bolus to clear. I generally just cough it back up, and wait a few minutes and can go back to eating. I think dysphagia is less frequent, though, since I can clear pressure (burp) before and during eating, instead of the food/bolus fighting rising air continuously!

I'm at ~day 60 in my second Botox journey, and so far, I have no regrets. I've learned a lot about how my esophagus works... or doesn't... and learning the importance of clearing the esophagus after eating. Once it's clear, burps can happen. More fluids, smaller and more thoroughly chewed bites help me get there.

Post-Botox 9 days post botox - little success

Hi all

Had my botox treatment with Lucy 13/10. Experienced a handful of microburps from days 3-7 but as of the last days no success at all.

Feel like i’ve tried all the positions i’ve read and still getting no success. Starting to think i will need another injection but any success stories for a bit of positivity would be great.

Thanks!

New Member How do I find help

Sorry for the future spelling mistakes, writing this with a lot of emotion

Ive never been able to burp, and can recall several times where i was so suprised i dint vomit anything but air. I dint try to force them either, they just came with a bunch of nausea and bloatedness. There was once, i was laying on the floor nauseated and bloated for the entire night while my parents couldnt help me at all. The doctors that I visited all told me something about acid reflux, GERD, lactose intolerance, IBS or asked if i was stressed or anxious.

I came across r-cpd when i was looking for causes for my acid reflux, and i told my chatgpt about my inability to burp. Then, the realisation hit me hard. I had almost all of the symptoms it mentioned like hypersalivating, vomitting air, painful hiccups.

I dint seek treatment for this though once i found out the condition is rare, and i think that was my first mistake. The past month, the symptoms have been getting worse, i was air vomitting 3 times a day with nausea and salivating so hard i was drooling in the gym. I dint tell my doctors about my inability to burp and that made them give me medicines that were useless to me. I can barely keep down food and liquids and i air vomit almost every time i open my mouth.

I have seen a GP and gotten my referral to the ENT. yay!

But its almost 2 weeks from now. I simply cannot live with this for this long, especially with 6 hours of school every day. Also, how would i be able to know if my ENT will be able to treat me? Sorry if the answer seems obvious but im very inexperienced with medical practises and this is my first time being desperate enough to ask for help

Post-Botox Swallow therapy - does it help?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice please! Have been dealing with RCPD basically my whole life, finally got Botox injections in July. I just had my post-op appointment where I had to tell my doctor that sadly it didn’t work, since it’s been 3 months and I’m still not burping and still experiencing my typical symptoms. I knew that injections only work about 85% of the time (confirmed by both my doctor and what I read online), and I’ve read stories on Reddit of people needing to get the injections two or three times before it works.

However, my doctor will not repeat the procedure and instead referred me to a speech therapist for “swallow therapy”. I’ve tried researching but have found literally nothing online of swallow therapy helping with RCPD (outside of meeting with a therapist a week or two after the procedure).

I’m skeptical to spend my time and money on something that’s not effective. Does anyone have experience with this they can share? Or should I find another ENT for a second opinion? Thank you!

Edit: I have been asked to update this post with the name of the doctor so others can avoid (I’ve since realized she was very misinformed about how much Botox to use, common side effects of the procedure, etc.). While I don’t want to give her name, I will say this was at New England Ear Nose and Throat at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, MA.

Symptoms Advise please

Female, 30's, UK.

I've only just come across this sub and I've been suffering from what I've diagnosed myself with "something along the lines of acid reflux" for 15 years now.

I've had multiple trips to the doctor's, suggestions of a food intolerance, IBS, acid reflux and so on, however I have always mentioned I haven't been able to burp.

A number of years ago I had an endoscopy along with a few other tests but the doctors essentially told me I had to live with it.

My main symptoms are similar to what I'm reading here... bloating, feeling like food is stuck in my throat, feeling full quickly and like everyone else it's had and continues to have a major impact on my life.

But my main and biggest symptom is SICKNESS, this ALWAYS gets worse when I have a cough / cold / flu like symptoms.

Does anyone here suffer with throwing up?

Who has had Botox and has it really made your life better? Also is this something that you have to keep getting done every few years?

I have a referral onto Gastroenterology and would like to suggest this as a procedure if this is definitely something that is going to make a difference.

Post-Botox Possibly need a second round?

So, I’m approaching 6 months post-botox with 100 units under general anesthesia. Around the first month I had micro burps and then at the second month the burps started to get a little stronger, at times they even occurred without utilizing the BERP procedure or drinking fizzy drinks. However I still followed the procedure to train myself and drank at least two cans of fizzy drinks a day.

But, after the third month post-botox, it seemed that burps were struggling to come out. At the time I thought it was fine and that I needed to just refine how to physically position myself in order to get the gas out, so for next two months I focused on that with only a few micro burps but the rest felt like gas coming up, stopping, and then going back down no matter how much I twisted around.

Now I’m approaching 6 months post botox and the bloating has returned, lesser than before but still enough to be disruptive. If I’m lucky I’ll have a decent burp, like for example if I am reclined, maybe once a week but even the micro burps barely come out anymore.

Has anyone else had something similar happen? Is the problem my positioning for the burps or does it sound like I’m going to need a second round of botox? Can they confirm anything by using a tiny camera down my throat?

TLDR: I’m 6 months in post-botox procedure with 100 units under general anesthesia and I’m barely burping anymore. I’m wondering whether if it’s my positioning or an indication that I need a second round.

Venting Diagnosed with IBS, feeling confused and frustrated just need to vent.

This might be a long one but I just don’t know what else to do.
I’m 20F, never really been able to burp, associated it with vomiting as I burped before throwing up once when I was like 4. Haven’t vomited since and have a huge fear of it. never had persistent, life altering symptoms growing up, just got nausea maybe a bit more than the average person but I pinned it to anxiety, and would sometimes get very bloated and would have to lie down from the pain, but only after like idk drinking fizzy or eating a lot so nothing very abnormal.

Then in April last year, after a long stretch of stress I started getting bloated much more often but not with a clear cause, and only farting would help (of course) I started to get very health anxious and my emetophobia was at a all time high. Then I started getting loose stools. So I went to the doctor, got bloods and stool checked, all normal. Went back again, was prescribed mebeverine and told to use simithicone

Started uni and was kinda managing it, it would really flare up sometimes and other weeks it would be more manageable. Fast forward to second year now, my symptoms are all over the place. So much random intense nausea, a lot of pain in the evenings, randomly swinging from loose stool to complete normal stool. I don’t go out in the evenings in fear of having gas cramps and not being able to relieve it. I’m seriously trying everything I can. Low FODMAP where I can, yoga poses help shift the gas but unfortunately can’t exactly hit the puppy pose in the middle of the pub, simithicone sometimes helps but not reliably, tea sometimes helps but again not reliably. Trying meditation and gut therapy to see if I can calm the visceral hypersensitivity going on down there. Walking after dinner etc etc etc
Nothings really helping.

I went to the doctor despite being pretty terrified I was gonna be just fobbed off, and it’s a new gp for me so was even more anxious. But I thought maybe they’d offer idk amytriptiline to help with the pain and in the meantime I could save up for the Botox. I went in, she asked me some questions (which I already put in the form but I guess they don’t see that? Idk) and then started talking to me about the gut brain connection, basically telling me I need to chill out, recommend me some books, told me I need to do another fecal sample thing so we can be sure it’s not IBD, told me IBS is a lifelong condition that I have to manage and now she’s prescribed me peppermint oil capsules (which I have tried before with no relief and also can cause loose stools which is counter productive) I left that appointment and immediately started crying. I tried to explain that I get gas pain and that’s why I don’t leave the house in the evenings, but she looked confused and asked me if I was incontinent. Maybe I’m being dramatic and I should just try the peppermint capsules again but I just wish there was an easier way for this.

I guess my main fear is that the RCPD isn’t the only problem and even if I do get it fixed, I’m still gonna have this visceral hypersensitivity thing. Obviously the gas pain and nausea is very much to do with the rcpd but I don’t know about the bowel issue. I’m a very anxious person and having all these different symptoms, it’s kinda hard to not worry. I know it’s a loop but it’s exhausting trying to live normally and just “accept” the symptoms when they are causing ALOT of pain and discomfort, to the point I’m unable to focus on things that are important to me
I’ve also seen a lot of posts about how the Botox doesn’t seem to work for some people, and although I’m still determined to save up and try it, it seems utterly devastating especially when it’s so much money.
Has anyone else had a similar issue with “ibs” and rcpd? Did the Botox help those symptoms too?

Post-Botox Choking risk after botox

I forgot to include this in my other post, but the first week of the procedure I could not cough effecetively. You're advised to eat soft things like pasta, soup and rice. Anyways, I guess since the musce is "open", the coughs are faint? I nearly choked on a single grain of rice and no matter how much I coughed the thing would not move for some time. So I looked it up and had to swallow with my head bowed down so as to minimize risk and drink liquids that are not so runny like juice. Just something to keep in mind.

Post-Botox 4 month fade - anything I can do?

Just what the title says. I'm a little past 4 months with the botox (under anesthesia with Dr. Villari), and the burping is starting to get much more difficult. I really can't afford to have the procedure done again, but now that I know what it feels like to not be painfully bloated all the time, I really can't go back!

During our follow up, I asked him what i should do to better my chances of it taking, and he said 1 fizzy drink a day, which I have been doing. I also did the BERP protocol with every gurgle and it worked great. But now, it only works about half of the time and I feel like I really have to force it out with my abs.

For those of you who've had waning success, were you able to save it? Just more fizz? I've had soooo much relief from this (including dropping a jean size because the bloat was gone!) that the thought of going back makes me want to cry!

Post-Botox 2 weeks post Botox - NO CHANGES?

I am 2 weeks post-op and literally nothing has changed?

I was under general anesthesia, and my provider did 50 units of Botox. My throat was sore for a few days after the procedure. But that’s it. No micro-burps, no slow swallow, no nothing so far.

Is this normal? Or will I need another try?

My doctor did said that micro-burps and swallow changes would be present after 5-7 days. And she said that for 80% of her patients the 50 units of Botox is enough to achieve results, but the other 20% need a second procedure with 100 units instead of 50 units. Am I part of that 20%? I’m really hoping not… but the longer I am post-op with literally no symptom relief, the more I feel like this procedure didn’t work for me.

I have a post-op appointment coming up on Monday 10/26 so I’ll be talking to her about options.

But in the mean time I am curious if anyone else has advice?

Management Tips & Tricks Botox for R-CPD in Bogotá & Medellín, Colombia – ask us anything

Hey everyone 👋

I’m posting on behalf of Centro Eleva, a clinic in Colombia that treats Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction (R-CPD), aka “no burp” syndrome. We see patients in Bogotá and Medellín.

We’ve been lurking here for a while and honestly, this sub is the reason so many people finally found out they’re not crazy. The gurgles, the bloating, the chest pressure, the painful “air sloshing around” feeling after a soda, the awkward hiccup-croak noises... we hear all of it every day, and yes, it’s real.

What we do:

  • Botox injection into the cricopharyngeus muscle (the standard treatment described by Dr. Bastian)
  • All procedures are done in an operating room, never in-office. We know some of you have been anxious about getting it done awake, so this might be good news 😅
  • Follow-up and guidance through the “learning to burp” phase after the procedure

Why us:
We have extensive experience treating R-CPD specifically, not just as a side thing. We’ve treated lot of patients since 2021. A lot of our patients come from abroad because costs in Colombia are often lower than in the US/Europe while keeping specialist-level care.

Locations: Bogotá and Medellín
Cost: Varies per case. Book a virtual consultation with us and we’ll give you all the details on pricing, the procedure and what to expect.
Languages: Spanish and English
Contact: www.centroeleva.com

Happy to answer questions in the comments about the procedure, recovery, side effects (temporary swallowing difficulty is common the first couple of weeks), or traveling to Colombia for treatment.

Wishing you all burp freedom 🫡

Symptoms Symptoms get worse with stress

Hey everyone, this is my first post on this subreddit!

I usually have less of a problem dealing with my RCPD symptoms, but in periods of life where i get more stressed, RCPD feels like it rules my life.

Recently i started seeing a new partner and I have been getting these pseudo panic attacks, where anytime im nervous with them or anything i get these uncontrollable gurgles or bubbling up my throat and it gives me very intense nausea, to the point where I think i might be sick any second. It feel s like some air is able to slip out, maybe because there is just so much pressure in my throat, and it feels horrible. It doesnt help that I have emetophobia so I start to freak out anytime it starts.

Does anybody else have this happen to them? I have had these flare ups in my symptoms all my life but none as much as recently.
