I normally avoid unofficial releases, but the artwork alone sold me. Plus this show is so hard to find on physical media this seemed like the only way to watch it offline. I like print media.

Idk if anyone else has noticed this cuz I tried looking it up and found nothing but I think this dude has been wearing the same pair of ripped jeans for the past 13 years at least. Matt in the dirties wears them and then Matt in nirvana the band the show wears them (I’m only 3 episodes in) and then in the movie he’s wearing them as well. I’m new to this whole community so if this is like an inside joke mb ✌️✌️

This listing for the webseries came up on eBay a few days ago, at first I was quite tempted to get it, the price was a little high but I’ve been looking for a real webseries DVD for a while.
I go into the description and see this.
Now I feel this is a little deceptive, I understand some would be completely alright paying this to get a replica, however I think many people may get misled at how genuine this initially appears, only to find out it’s a reproduction.

What do you guys think?

I love the poster for the film being a parody of Back to the Future’s mainly with Matt’s pose, however what I couldn’t work out is if Jay is meant to be parodying something else, or he’s just making that pose alongside Matt.

Why is he covering his ears? Also what is Matt holding, is it the device that shows the signal from the CN Tower?

Hello! I just wanted to share this new upload. @iambirthdaydad on Twitter recently shared that he owns this old NTBTS Web Series Screener. Check out the post here. Anyways, I offered to send him my disc drive so that he could make a backup to share, and he agreed! Now, @CarsonKompon (the admin of NTBTS fan-page) will be hosting a copy for fans to enjoy, as well as the linked backup on the Internet Archive.

Does anyone have an extra ticket or 2?

I've been recently checking out some extra content available about the band and I was wondering, did the other Piano Sessions for the rest of the episodes in season 1 actually exist? Like is there any evidence they were a thing before they were removed entirely? Just want to see if anyone from this sub that was around the vice era has any anecdote wether there were 4 more Piano Session episodes for the reason of season 1.

For my birthday, my wife always makes me a custom Oreo, and turning 40 is a big one, she had a hard time trying to find me an appropriate theme.

Since I just found Nirvanna the band the show the movie on my (the) Delta flight, then finished the band the show on Hulu in just a month, she knew exactly what this year's theme would be! And just in time

Hi :) one of the things I love about nirvanna the band is how many jokes, easter eggs, and symbolism they can cram into the scene. I always get super excited when I spot something! But obviously I must miss a ton of stuff too, so I'm curious: what are your favourite little details in the show?

Here are some of my favourites that I don't see brought up too often:

- In The Banned List 2, When Flashback Jay re-inserts his quarter to call the jingle writing business, the Zoltar theme from Big is playing in the background (Zoltar is the carnival machine that grants the main character's wish to be Big— Jay wants to grow up 🥲)

- In The Bank, when Jay remembers watching the fireworks on Canada Day, Matt is smiling in his memory ;u;

- In The Buffet, the rendition of Gymnopédie No.1 is a pre-existing recording (by phillipe entremont)— but the version that plays at the end of the Banned List 2 is a rendition by Jay! And the piece ends early mid phrase once Jay leaves the rooftop 🥹 (I'll probably make a larger poster further talking about gymnopédie at some point because it makes me go a little crazy I love it's inclusion so much)

I'm not particularly sure how to word this, or if it's something people will agree with, because admittedly I haven't watched a whole lot of comedies so I could be speaking from a place of ignorance. I'm wanting to write my final essay for one of my units about the show as I really do think it's unique and has something a lot of other shows lack. I know genre wise its more mockumentary, but just for the sake of generalising I'll call it a comedy, since comedies tend to be blended with other genres anyways.

I feel like NTBTS particular style of comedy is really contemporary in it's various intertextual references and it's mockumentary style which I can really only compare to something like Nathan For You or more recently, Cunk on Earth, but I feel like it really differs from those in the sense that it follows a narrative and (from memory) doesn't feature conventions such as talking heads or voiceovers. I'd love to get people's thoughts on this, and what they find particularly unique about the the show :)
