Purpose: Family portraits, my toddler kids, close-ups, and group photos at family birthday parties and gatherings, both indoors and outdoors. I want creamy background bokeh and sharp, crisp photos indoors, even in moderately dim lighting.
Experience: Tech-savvy, but new to dedicated cameras. I’m willing to learn through tutorials and hands-on practice, including editing.
Why these two? The Sony A6700 appeals to me because of its price, lens costs, AF and excellent reviews. The Nikon Z6 III appeals to me because of its full-frame sensor, impressive specs, and low-light performance and future proofing for years to come.
I don’t plan to use the camera for travel, street photography, or nighttime photography anytime soon. My main use will be family photography, including indoor birthday parties and gatherings that might happen during the day or in the evening/night.
I plan to buy just two lenses, (prime, everyday) and keep the setup for many years without upgrading, assuming everything works as expected.
Which would you recommend for my needs, and why? Very less review videos on Z6iii compared to 6700. Is Z6 III underrated?
