Is it a high crime to give aid and comfort to an enemy?
917
u/KathyJaneway 1d ago
Is it a high enough crime for 67 Senators is the question.
293
u/techgrey 1d ago edited 15h ago
The constitution says that all 67 of those senators should be hung for treason. Anything less than that is unconstitutional.

Hanged. Meat is hung. Men are hanged. A man can also be hung but, that is a different subject.

Normally I'd agree, but meat hooks would not be entirely out of place, considering the country is run by an organized crime gang, not men.

Iranian diesel. Russia doesn't produce enough, so they buy from Iran.
Trump negotiated a deal with Ukraine's greatest enemy, to buy diesel from a nation Trump started a war with.
Trump is helping Iran finance its war with America.
This is what am amazing strategist and negotiator Trump is.

It's a lot of serious crimes but not specifically treason. Espionage, and conspiracy against the United States for starters. Treason requires either levying war against the US or giving aid and comfort to a nation with whom we are engaged in armed conflict.

Yeah... I don't think the situation will ever improve.

Confederate statues and memorials didn’t start popping up until Jim Crow 25 years after. It was a propaganda campaign by revisionist groups like the Daughters of the Confederacy. A more apt example is how Confederate leaders were pardoned and many allowed to stay in government positions to keep the cycle going

There was a lot done in those four years, too. Unfortunately it was undone immediately and we went back in time a few decades because people couldnt stand the idea of having a black woman as president.
22
u/Canadatron 21h ago
It's been happening since the Confederacy. It's not stopping here. Americans have a real problem actually holding those responsible, responsible.
12
u/Kahgar 19h ago
Because that requires a form of introspection. Something Americans are deeply uncomfortable with because the truth is it’s not a vocal minority who supports these things. It’s a very large part of the population.
And that’s an ugly realisation to have, America has always been a warlike-nation. Everything from daily life to their History has been about putting groups against eachother. War on drugs, war on terror, Middle-East, their sports-mentality, believes and non-believers, every single aspect of American life is created to believe it’s us (whatever group) vs them (another group).
It requires a lot more than a change of a few key figures in a government to change that mentality, and if a civil war wasn’t enough I doubt Donald Trump will be.

Everyone helping Trump abandon Ukraine appears to be a traitor to the United States.
If we get through this and still have a country, and the true facts are what they look like to us now, those people should be prosecuted for treason.
We are in an undeclared war. The only reason it’s not declared is that traitors are in charge and the thought of nuclear war is scary.
The fact that the war has not been declared should not protect traitors from prosecution for treason.

u/Quiet_Durian69 18h ago

u/Xyrus2000 18h ago
They can't. That's the irreparable damage this administration has done. The global landscape has changed. We break treaties. We break trade agreements. We openly and brazenly threaten and insult allies and trading partners.
Even if democrats sweep everything, including the presidency, we are never regaining our position on the international stage. The American people have proven incapable of consistently electing sane leaders, and the rest of the world has taken note. Countries are making separate trade deals. China is filling in every hole we left. We've abandoned our soft power and basically handed it over to China on a silver platter.
None of this will change because of an election, especially since the world now knows it's always just four years away from Americans voting in someone worse.
We will be dealing with the fallout from this administration for decades.

New Zealand hasn’t trusted you since the 80s when the US Navy refused to confirm or deny that vessels completely incapable of handling nuclear weapons did not, in fact, have nuclear weapons.
It really revealed how much you thought of your allies, that complying with the law was too hard. Even lying would have been better, but no, the USA had to be asinine.
Now that it’s UST, your agreements are not worth the dust that falls on them.
25
u/Many_Psychology_3336 21h ago
Oh it's okay, we won't. Even if/when you guys vote in somebody sane, the world will know that it's only a matter of time before you vote a fascist maniac back into office and undo whatever good has been done within months with nationwide shrugging of American shoulders in response.

Let me see who else did Manafort work for...former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych...why does that name ring a bell.
Oh....Viktor Yanukovych was the asshat that fled to Russia in 2014 in fear of his life because he tried to sell out Ukraine to Russia.
Viktor Yanukovych withdrew Ukraine's EU association agreement which pissed off the Ukrainians.

Two KGB colonels said they recruited Trump in college because he was insecure, vulnerable to flattery. The whole Epstein thing was their operation - to get dirt on many major or upcoming politicians and rich dudes. You'd wonder why Trump would care at this point if they were to publish photos and video of him doing antibiblical stuff with underage girls (or boys)? I'd guess the problem is so many other major figures in power now were also there. They are fearful they'll be exposed and they yank on Trump to protect them. So he goes and licks Putin's shoes.
