Exclusive: Ukraine runs out of Patriot interceptor missiles as Zelensky and Trump clash over war

Ahead of the US midterm elections, Trump has increasingly blamed the rise in global diesel prices on the Ukraine-Russia war, despite the Iran war playing a more significant role in the fuel price spikes.
Trump is an enemy to the Western world.
763
u/yhwhx 1d ago
Trump is an enemy to the Western world.
...and an ally of Putin's Russia.
256
u/Tokey_Tokey 1d ago
It's just stupidity.
There has been more news about Ukraine hitting Russian fuels than whatever the fuck is going on with Hormuz.
Just the other day it was being downplayed. "Traffic in Hormuz is near pre war levels" then a few hours later you have a story about Iran sinking ships.
But Ukraine hammering Russia is a constant news cycle headline.
He's essentially throwing allies under the bus but not for Putin. He is trying to save the midterms(horrendously) because he knows his base eats that shit.
It's all just one giant pile of shit.
Go out and vote for the love of god.

Trump wants to win the midterms
He needs there to be reasons things aren't his fault

It's just stupidity.
No, that's a convenient and dismissive excuse. Of course Trump is getting more senile every day, of course many republican supporters are stupid/disinformed/victims of the propaganda machine. But this machine is led by people who know what they are doing and are actively evil, greedy and selfish rather than simply stupid.

Trump is an asset for Putin and Putin have so much dirt, photos and videos of that pedo.
36
u/RaelImperial31 1d ago
Trump’s an asset alright, but not in that way. The guy is so easy to use, just pay him lip service and he’ll eat out of the palm of your hand, look at Zohran Mamdani
25
u/SPzero65 1d ago
My hope is the Republicans get steamrolled in the midterms, Trump becomes useless to Putin as a lame duck, and it all comes out.
10
u/johnis12 1d ago
Hoping for that as well, also hoping what little Repub support he has just starts ignoring him... Though I do think he's gonna try and pull some bullshit, whether of his own accord or Putin's to try and stay in complete power.
2
u/TheCrazedTank 1d ago
Both can be true… the latter explains why there is so much material for the first.
1
u/HugeHans 1d ago
I mean sure, it feels that way. However blaming the victim for "causing problems" is so on brand for him that he does that for free.

Yeah, I don't think so. Trump's target demographic finds him beyond kompromat, evident by gestures broadly

Outside of the obvious buffoonery, Trump said he'd end the Ukraine war within 24 hours of taking office. Like how is switching from Iran to Ukraine better for this jackass
5
u/nigel_pow 1d ago
Le Pen and AfD also say they will cut support to Ukraine if they get the chance. And they are doing well in the polls.
2

This was inevitable. Putin knows orange shitler is about to be a much worse asset for him. They were always going to speed run the next 2 years.

"Zelensky and Trump clash" = Trump wants Ukraine to surrender to the Russian invaders and it turns out they would rather stay alive and free, thank you. Exclusive: This Headline Is Shameful
92
u/DrDragun 1d ago edited 1d ago
Trump tied Zelensky's hand behind his back the same night Russia launched an attack on power plants.
Trump is preparing to blame Ukraine and Democrats after they win the midterms for gas prices, when he has been running down the national reserves for the last 8 months and he's the one who caused the Iran War in the first place.
But of course MAGA mythology and disinformation will have Ukraine attacking first, Democrats blamed for gas prices and the continuation of a society of no personal accountability because "alternative facts" are always excusing themselves from legitimate blame for things.
Even now the paid bots swarm social media spreading the disease of misinformation.
9
u/Brave_Maybe_2891 1d ago
Its going to be worse than what most people are expecting. In late Nov the strategic reserve will be completely empty which will cause prices to go up again. Then on top of that the strategic reserve has not been selling oil for cash like they usually do, they have been lending it out at a 20% interest rate. So for every 5 barrels released refiners have to return 6 barrels back to the strategic reserve starting sonetime in 2027.
1
u/thisvideoiswrong 1d ago
I'll believe Trump cares at all about gas prices when I see him in Iranian handcuffs. That is the most obvious step one could take under these circumstances, is to hand over the criminal for prosecution. But he certainly won't.

I'm not convinced these latest actions taken by President Trump - with the GOP's blessing - will be viewed positively by an undecided midterm voter. Swapping a couple tankers of Russian diesel for Ukraine's suffering doesn't feel right.

Most Americans arent plugged into politics or whats happening around the world.
Id be surprised if their even aware of local elections or who their rep is.
Most undecided voters are very apathetic and dont really care about politics unless it affects them. Very myopic views and they can get most of their information from 30 second sound bits or fox news recaps.
Outrage is alot more effective in getting people to the polls, the threat of loss or harm to yourself is great. The GOP is a win at any cost and Russia/China and America adversaries have been using that to their advantage.
The current GOP has adopted an extremist view to cater to the evangelical Christians, the white supremacists, blue collar voter and rural farmer. All hyper partisan by main stream media.
3
u/Maro1947 1d ago
I genuinely never understand the amount of apathy it takes to invoke that narrow-mindedness

They're determined to no longer need the voters, and they're banking that there won't be any pushback if/when they finally decide to just take it all. The Republicans (at least those in districts/states which are questionably "in play") are acting like they've been told to not worry about the midterms at all.

u/datterdude 1d ago
If it is not already obvious, Trump does not side with Ukraine. He wants Russia to win because <insert your reason here>, but it should be plain to see that either he wants to be like Putin, or Putin has something on him, or he wants something from Russia. Trump conducts himself EXACTLY the way a <bad> Russian plant or compromised politician would.
I repeat:
Ukraine must win as China is awaiting to see this outcome to plan it's own interests in taking other lands across the seas. How the US respond and the United Nations will inform them of how they should move. Anyone who does not understand this has no business speaking one way or another about the conflict. It is the core concept of why Ukraine must succeed.

Is US officially a terrorist state?
They attacked Venezuela and kidnapped their President (he was a massive POS), then attacked Iran, launched a trade war against various countries, are supporting Russia, are working to dismantle NATO, amd threatened to invade Canada, Mexico, and Iceland
As for Ukraine, they're right now fighting against US, Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran. And let's not even talk about the thousands of people that were recruited from the African continent, and they're holding their own.

Including china among the countries ukraine is fighting against is quite inaccurate, as china hasnt directly contributed militarily to russias invasion like the other countries you listed. Like sure, theyre selling dual use material to russia, but thats it and theyre quite happy to continue trading with ukraine as well.
1
u/Tommyblockhead20 18h ago
By definition, not really. They aren’t doing it to strike terror into the citizens of where they go after, they are doing it to extract more money from the local government/companies. So if anything, it fits more into the organized crime bucket.

Trump is a Russian asset . Period. So is Musk. Trump is also the reason why Ukraine lost access to Starlink. SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on Wednesday said decisions to restrict the speed or usage of Starlink’s Starshield are made by the U.S. military and, ultimately, the president, as confusion swirls over Ukraine’s loss of military access to the systems.
“Any limits on speed or usage are decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS,” Musk wrote in a comment on the social platform X, which Musk owns.
4
u/pragmatic84 1d ago
So basically, Trump backs Ukraine to show the world he's a legendary peacekeeper, invades Iran and Venezuela to get control of their oil, then cuts funding to Ukraine so Russia can finally take it over after milking Ukraine for all they're worth in arms deals, and then he can strike a sweet trade deal with Putin on Russian gas that he was always hoping for.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear the US is going after Canada next year.
Fuck this timeline

The fascists are making it personal and this newsoutlet helps them greatly because the header attracts more clicks.
2
u/Eltharion-the-Grim 19h ago
They were out of patriots long ago. The US can’t produce enough of them fast enough and still have inventory to protect the middle east assets.
Orange man is still prosecuting Iran war and missiles are needed there as well as to protect Israel.
USA can really only realistically produce about 600 patriot missiles PER YEAR. Israel and the prolonged Russia/Ukraine war have drained reserve inventories. Middle east is likely also near empty, if not already completely empty.
They have already pulled inventory from Asia to help with middle east. This leaves Asia entirely to China. It’s a no contest now in Asia.
This is the problem with having/supporting so many battle theatres.

u/TheWastelandWizard 13h ago

It is not just the Trump. USA is itself very low on interceptors.
This is why Europe was pushing more own interceptors to Ukraine.
9
u/yhwhx 1d ago
The US is low on interceptors almost exclusively due to Trump's idiotic actions against Iran, correct?
6
u/grafknives 1d ago
Absolutely. That war was a absolute strategic defeat and disaster for US.
And countries that rely on their military support.
1
u/Tetter 1d ago
Agreed yes, it is also on the policies that inhibited patriot production. That goes back before trump unfortunately, and the iran war just blew up the problem completely unnecessary and imo with intent to cause chaos.

Saudis are rationing interceptors. I think the correct answer is Israel.
Saudis pay a high premium be it for Patriots or for F-35s so they should have precedence over Ukraine.
2
u/SherluckHoImes 23h ago
Ultimately, it is a good thing. US air defense systems are overpriced and the US administration is not reliable. Ukraine should know by now that US is not a reliable ally.
As for the US? They are weeak! they can't even use their bases in the middle east as a lot were destroyed by iranians!
To add insult to injury, Saudi Arabia (who is supposed to have patriot systems if I'm not wrong) just had their airport bombed by houthis.
Do the US play chess or checkers?

It's almost like without the US funding it, the war wouldn't have escalated or gone on this long.
But I'm sure the US is doing the right thing and it's a righteous war of good and evil, and not just regular human beings like you and me who are being killed by one another.
1
u/Sjoerdiestriker 21h ago
It's almost like without the US funding it
This is a bit disingenuous. Cumulative US aid to Ukraine totals less than half the combined cumulative aid of the European Union and its member states.
1
u/crymachine 13h ago
Ukraine's defense and security budget for 2026 is approximately $66-98 billion, compared to roughly $9-10 billion in 2021 which is a 921% increase for war.
European union gives more money at large to keep the government solvant and functional, the United States aid is directly for war.
It is entirely disingenuous to look at money for killing and money for economics on the topic of killing and war and say the one side who dedicates billions to killing isn't spending as much as someone else who's spending more on the economic side.
1
u/Sjoerdiestriker 13h ago
I imagine a large fraction of that 66-98 billion the European Union (+member states) pay for is directly spent on military equipment, so I don't see much issue with comparing the two.
Besides, the word you used was "funding", which seems much more associated with giving money than giving weapnry.
1
u/crymachine 13h ago edited 8h ago
There needs to be a distinction made here. Up until June 2026, the EU's financial contribution has primarily been towards macro-financial assistance, budget support, paying pensions, and rebuilding. So no imagining needed, those are the facts.
The last five years? Of the war the united states has directly contributed specifically towards lethal aid. Drones, guns, bombs, etc.
Without the financial aid of the United States, this war wouldn't have continued or dragged out this long. Ukraine is far smaller, has less soldiers, and will lose to time. It's been senseless, it's been endless casualties on both sides, and it's primarily all due to US Funding supporting a non netrual Ukraine towards Russia which has historically nearly always since 1991, been netrual towards Russia.
This is the same united states funding Israel's genocide, not to be a tin foil hat or anything but I really can't imagine the US funding two separate wars for two separate goals. Aka being the good guys for one and the bad guys for the other.
Funding, financing. My bad I'll talk more like a text book vs like we're both humans so there's less room for confusion.
1
u/anonymousopsec1337 1d ago
Ukraine would have gotten steamrolled without the US early help. Now it’s at an unfundable level but Ukraine won’t back down and either will Russia. Both these countries will be bankrupt and the EU will be stuck funding them.
1
u/crymachine 13h ago
People don't really like it when I bring up history, but I'm pretty sure Russia only wanted what it always wanted, a neutral Ukraine and not to face existential crisis as Nato sets up right on its border with weapons it couldn't defend against.
Much like the Cuban missile crisis of 61? I believe, where Cuba was armed and could basically annihilate the United States without the US being able to intercept, stop, or prevent its annihilation of Cuba decided to attack.
As the soviet union fell in 91 and Russia went the route of a capitalist nation, their only real hard line was Nato not expand up to its border.
Yadda yadda. Trumps first presidency letting missile treaties expire, Zelensky only being popular on the far right extremists side of Ukraine before he was propped up and became one of the few if not first leaders who did not want a neutral stance with Russia and took all the Nato funding.
Etc etc. You probably don't care, or believe it, and I did write it a little lazily, but. My big bad communist bastard stance is 1. People shouldn't die in war, war is bad. And 2. Russia probably just didn't want Ukraine to become hostile against it and be armed with advanced weapons, as witnessed with the US and Cuba already.

1
u/Aikuma- 1d ago
But the interceptors are both expensive and in short supply globally, as other countries have burned through their stockpiles or sought to shore up their own defense systems amid the war in Iran
What's the word on Russian missile stock?
I vaguely recall something about Russian strategy is to just keep sending soldiers forward.
Are they doing the same thing for missiles, hoping to deplete Ukrainian defences faster than it can be restocked?

Not just stupidity I'm afraid. Remember all those riots in Albania over Jared and Ivanka’s proposed luxury resort on public lands? Well...
The “energy ceasefire” Kushner has been negotiating on behalf of the Trump administration (reminder: Kushner is not employed by the U.S. government) includes a multibillion-dollar deal to purchase the international assets of Russian energy giant Lukoil through a consortium of buyers. The consortium includes the billionaire Qatari brothers Ramez and Moutaz Al-Khayyat.
The Al-Khayyat brothers are Kushner’s primary financial co-investors and development partners in Jared and Ivanka’s controversial, multibillion-dollar luxury Mediterranean coast resort project in Zvërnec, Albania, which people have been protesting there for months.
What Kushner and the Al-Khayyat brothers are going to do is buy Lukoil so the company can be excused from Russian global sanctions. They’ll then funnel all the Lukoil revenue back to Russia while pocketing a considerable under-the-table “service fee” for themselves.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: we are not outraged enough by Jared Kushner. This is wholesale corruption in service to a compromised president, blatantly operating in service to a foreign adversary.u
