Discussion shooters holding the ball more than 3 seconds before shooting
I just noticed that sometimes some shooters (especially holding shooters eg. Jhaniele Fowler, Romelda Aiken George) hold pretty long before actually shooting, and the umpire doesn't call it.
I tried counting, and sometimes it's definitely over 3 secs. wouldn't it be held ball?
edit: just saw another post mentioning this same issue in this sub about 4 months ago (go and take a look). I guess I'm not aloneš¤·š»āāļø

Advice / Question Where to buy custom mixed kit (UK)
I was wondering if anyone knows somewhere I can purchase custom mixed kit without the pesky minimum order of 10 per item? Weāre looking to get a uniform made up for my social league team as a team reward (weāre due to be promoted at the end of the current season) and Iām struggling to find somewhere to buy it from. My gut instinct was to go for flyhawk as I love the fit of their pro dresses and they do a good mix of vests and tops (for the ladies on my team who arenāt comfortable in a dress) but they have a minimum order of 10 per each item for anything custom. I could easily do 10+ dresses but I would only need about 3-4 tops and donāt want to waste everyoneās money on 7 tops that will never see outside the spare kit bag. Is there anywhere I can get a mix of dresses and tops with a custom design on or is this a case of us just picking a colour and getting a mix and match Gilbert kit? Any advice greatly appreciated š„°

Advice / Question Help please!!
My feet are messed up and do this to all my shoes and insoles. I constantly get blisters on the balls of my feet because they cause so much friction. Ive seen a podiatrist and they said its just the mechanics of my feet.
Does anyone else have this issue? Are there any solutions? Any shoe or insole recommendations? These gel ones for sport never last me very long.

SSN fixtures & tickets for international fans
Hi! Iāll be visiting Aus next year on holiday and Iām keen to watch an SSN match! But finding tickets and fixtures is proving to be a nightmare! Does anyone know how it works and when fixtures will be released and tickets go on sale? I know the NSL tickets are on sale next week I think, so I was wondering if it was a similar situation? Thank you so much!

Netball Rep Selectors
What are they actually looking for? If get coachability/fundamental skills etc but what happens in the lead up to the final trials?
Daughter did 11s development at one association and then trialled and was selected for a stronger association 12s squad (known for its loyalty to its players) 20 girls made it(NSW)
She has 6 squad trainings with her coaches, apparently the selectors are watching and then form there they do a final selection and 9-11 get picked.
How much of a say do the coaches get and what are the selectors looking for? How many of each position are they looking for? Knowing they stick with their OG girls what will my daughter need to do. She wants to make is ever so desperately

Goal Keeper (GK) help please!
Hiya!
I play for a āfunā league where itās not super serious, but I want to do well.
I play GK and I think Iām fairly decent as have gotten POTM a couple of times. But we always sub in for each other etc so itās a lovely vibe.
The team I am up against next week, their GS always goes really far out. How do I defend this? do I stick to her and stop her from coming into the D, but then she will just throw to GA who is closer to the goal. Or do I basically defend the edge of the D to stop her getting in that way? Take into consideration our GD has only played once and is very nervous so doesnāt really know what sheās doing and Iāve only met her once so I don't want to start giving orders! Should I tell her to stick like glue to GA?
Thank you! X

Advice / Question Sports club recommendations
Hi. Im 32 and im looking to join a sports team in auckland. Im interested in playing netball, squash, badminton or tennis. Im slowly getting into fitness and want to be able to have fun while losing weight and make friends along the way. Training alone at the gym is becoming a little boring and i find working out in a group is much more fun and effective. Any recommendations would be great.

Advice / Question Keeping your mentality
Looking for advice on keeping your focus and motivation.
Feeling like I am the sole limiting factor in the games (Attacking Position). I do note my other players are also equally struggling. Social anxiety also doesnt help this.
I am still focused on getting better, it is the reason why I returned to netball. But boy am I always anxious about what my teammates think. Just wanted to see if anybody has a tip to brush this off

Advice / Question Drills for a defender
Hi, Iāve always been a defender and absoulotlety love it. Iām ussaly GD but I sometimes play WD or GK. The one thing Iāve alwya struggled with is drills to do outise of traing since itās only me. I have a post but donāt really use it because Im not a shooter, so I need some defensive drills that can be for 1 person, a ball and a wall. Iām also not the greatest at jumping to block shots so anything to improve that would also be appreciated (my timing is really bad!). Thank you!!

Indoor netball shoe recs please!
As the title suggests! I play a mix of GK/WD as we sometimes sub in for other teams.
I am a UK size 7, slightly collapsed arches and generally just like a little bit of ankle support. For content I do a lot of jumping and generally flying through the air haha hence the support!
Thanks gang x

Discussion Shooting when tired
Iāve recently gone from GS to GA in a social netball league. I used to be quite good and consistent when shooting, but Iām finding that when it comes to the game and Iāve tired myself out a bit, Iām not so good when it comes to shooting. How do people remain consistent when shooting later in the game? I feel like the ball feels totally different by then!
TIA

Advice / Question Any tips on how to play GK against a GA way taller then you
hi everyone, I play in a social netball league and itās the first time Iāve played netball. Iām a guy and tallish (6ā0) so GK has become my position. I feel like Iāve been doing well, I get most rebounds, stop lots of passes and get intercepts itās so fun. Usually I verse girls shorter then me or guys about my height and can stop people taller then me fairly easily, but at our game tonight the other teams GA was at least 6ā5 with a wingspan that was probably longer. They would throw the ball up next to the hoop and heād catch it and literally jump and drop it in. It did make it harder having to rush from their GS to the GA as he ran into the circle, and I canāt swap with our GD as she is our best player. anyway, By the end of the game I resorted to playing dirty and got some stops but I was lucky not to get called for a few things. The rest of my team played great and we won, but I was definitely outplayed. Was curious as to whether their is any strategies or tips for versing someone with such a height advantage or if itās best to play dirty and pray. Thank you!

Discussion Super Shot
Since the Aussie netball league is still being described as the āSuper Netball Leagueā but no replacement for Suncorp has been announced, does anyone think that they will keep the Super Shot (it makes the game a lot more interesting) but without a partner?
It would be disappoiting without a partner, someone to support āThe Confident Girls Foundationā or another worthy netball organisation but I do hope they keep the super shot.
