Now this! If he can do this consistently as his go-to move, watch out.

A go-to move, that he can pull off late in the 4th of a close game, is the biggest thing he's missing. Once he finds one, and he will, it's curtains for the league.

An efficient move too - as in uses little energy which becomes a premium late in games

I don't think it's gonna be there before his 7th year or something like that, when he's going to be in his prime. He needs to learn every situation he can be in, with his tools he will be unstoppable. going for a go to move to spam rn isn't optimal to learn it imho

Watch out anyway imo. But yeah if he can consistently hit this it’s another infinity stone for sure.

Doesn't even need the fade. Just a set-shot near the free-throw line extended would be unguardable

I always think wemby’s shooting rhythm is always better whenever he comes off a slight foot movement. Even with his catch and shoot threes, you can see his foot still moving to set, then he fires. The fade gives him the movement rhythm he’s accustomed to.

I think the fade is to feel better balanced if a defender is still within touch of him. He doesn’t want to land on feet on jumpers nor does he want them to bump him off balance.

He’s been on “watch out” mode. This is supposed to happen. He’s gonna be an all timer

Wemby adding Dirk fadeaway to his arsenal would’ve been interesting to say.

He has Dirk's shooting coach, so...

This was unguardable even when Dirk was playing on two sets of rusted wheels disguised as his ankles

Welby learning it as a young man is fuckin unfair

Welby and Horper are going be a lethal duo this year

Would love Wemby to use the dirk fade all the time

This is the one he needs in the arsenal to be consistently unstoppable. Not convinced it’s real based on one preseason shot but glad he’s working on it 😊.

We also saw it in their scrimmage tapes over the summer. He's working on it

I love this but everyone has told me the preseason doesn’t mean shit so disregard everything.

He did this in the clutch against the Wolves on Gobert. Arguably his best playoff closing game game 3 against the Wolves offensively either that or game 1 one of the WCF.

Bro coming for blood this year

OG here. Wilt scored most of his points on the fade away. It can definitely be a go to move for a big man.

Is this even defendable? It didn’t even look new; like he’s been cooking with this for years.

I'd rather he do a skyhook or any variation of a hook shot. But this is good too if he can do it consistently.

Nah. I’d rather him do this. Sky hook requires immense base strength and balance. Plus, he’s not strong enough to seal inside position for skyhooks. And considering wemby’s skillset, dirk fade fits him WAY BETTER.

OOOOH I like that. It was already unblockable when Dirk was doing it. Idk what the hell you do to guard this

Does he even really need to fadeaway? His point of release is laughably high

Isn't that the elbow and not the post? I always thought of the lower blocks on the key as the post and upper corners as the elbow. However, I have just been saying shit for years without questioning myself.

You are correct. OP is also technically correct because Wemby took a step into the post and then stepped back and shot from the elbow. She he "went" to the post and then took a shot. But yeah, he didn't shoot from the post.
