Mod Weekly thread where you can call the music recognition bots without posting

To use the bots put u/RecognizeSong u/find-song with the link in your comment, like:

u/RecognizeSong u/find-song https://youtu.be/12345abcde

Notes:

  • The bots only work with a recording of the actual song, not a humming/recreation.
  • The sites that find-song works with: Reddit video posts (with a link or when summoned on the original post), YouTube, Vocaroo, Streamable, Twitch Clips (not VODs)
  • Some of the sites that RecognizeSong works with: Reddit video posts (when summoned on the original post or with an audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4), YouTube (though sometimes it doesn't work), Vocaroo, Streamable, Imgur, Twitch Clips (not VODs), Facebook, Twitter, Coub, Dropbox, Snapchat
  • For Reddit video posts there's also u/songfinderbot which only works if you summon it in a top-level comment on the original post
  • Some sites that RecognizeSong doesn't work with: Instagram, Twitch VODs, SoundCloud, Google Drive, Reddit text posts with embedded videos (though it does work with the audio link if you're able to get it, like https://v.redd.it/12345/DASH_audio.mp4)
  • When needed, mention a timestamp or use a timestamped link if possible (the bots scan about 24-30 seconds of audio, starting at the timestamp)
  • If the song is from a meme or from TikTok then it might be listed in the FAQ
  • Note that you can also DM find-song a link (but not through chat)

Good luck with your search, and if you find the bots useful please consider supporting them: RecognizeSong through Patreon, find-song through Ko-fi

Meme/TikTok/YouTube Short What is this foghorn / siren soundtrack?

It is killing me..

Im almost certain it's from a film. It sounds a bit like the lighthouse but isn't. It also could be from 1917 or Dunkirk, but I've tried listening to those and I don't think that's it.

Please ignore AI slop video.

Not sure if it is an actual song or an improvisation. Tried Shazam, nothing. No lyrics so far.

Background Music/Royalty Free Can anyone identify the Royalty Free / Background Music in the beginning of a Minecraft video from Eight Years Ago?

So there is this video from eight years ago by SB737 (I don't know if it's safe to put links so I will just put the title of the video)

YouTube Video source:

DEFEATING AN OP PLAYER! | Minecraft Xbox Bed Wars

With 291K Views & 1.5K likes.

He is using a royalty free background music, and I've been thinking it was Kevin Macleod, Green Orbs, or Silent Partner. One of these three, or maybe other royalty free artists.

Timestamp: 0:00 - 14:25

I want to know the first song at the beginning of the video, so I could maybe use it in my videos as well. I tried doing some reverse searches with the song, including asking AI to help me narrow it down but because SB737 is a very talkative person, it sort of just blocks that out.

Things to help narrow down:

Song is 8+ years ago
I'm guessing it might be Kevin Macleod, Silent Partner, or Green Orbs.

That's mostly everything. I'll try to add more if I can.

Meme/TikTok/YouTube Short TikTok audio from 2023

I’m looking for a TikTok sound popular around 2023–2024 I believe. It features a repetitive melody sung by a heavily processed, robotic, somewhat feminine voice with no actual lyrics, possibly over deep bass. I’ve attached my closest recreation of the melody, though the original vocals sound different. I tried everything but nothing comes up, I can’t even point out a genre or a better description but I’m sure the recording will be very distinctive. I appreciate any help.

J-Pop/J-Rock Looking for this japanese song

I think it was from an anime opening or ending

It's a female voice, very falsetto, almost crying/voice cracking, i think that part of the song doesnt have instrumentals?

The intro of the line is the only thing I remember but i'm pretty sure it's a japanese song

Sample/Similar Year: around 2016 | Older song with the same melody as Magic Pill by Waterbury Mesivta Unplugged

I already know this version — "Magic Pill" by Waterbury Mesivta Unplugged (Pesach '25 album, 2025):

I'm looking for a different, older song with the same tune. I'm pretty sure I heard it around 2016. Not sure of the genre and it is an English song. Any ideas?

Answered! Interesting song from FM4 Worldwide Show

I'm an avid listener of the FM4 (Austrian "youth" state radio) weekend night programs and I stumbled on this song today while catching up on the past programs.

Sadly I can't find a tracklist for the program, most others on the weekend do, but not this one. Shazam also found nothing.

The clip is from the FM4 Worldwide Show on Oct. 10th, 1:09h in (at 5:09 AM CEST)

Link to the online player: https://fm4.orf.at/sendung/1032727/worldwide-show

I don't really know what genre to put this under, so sorry for not adding a flair :P

Answered! Cant remember a Norwegian/ Finnish song that starts like "Vaar den ti se sakkeen" from 2008-2013 period

I'm confused about the language, but I think it's most likely Norwegian. It's an intense song sung by a blonde woman. In the music video, several men fight each other, and a shirtless man wearing a fedora digs a grave. The lyrics also has something sounding similar to "aayo kotoma".

Meme/TikTok/YouTube Short autumn / melancholic / lana del rey -esque 2020s song with vocalizing

https://www.instagram.com/reel/Dehl9FPvzYO/

I am 80% sure this is Lana del Rey's song, but I know only her major hits and it's not of of them. I asked the author of reel, but got no reply and instagram music credits only her unfortunately. I'm sure it's not from Taylor Swift albums, which are in the reel (folkmore, Midnights and TTPD), but if it is, I will happily wear Swifty shame shirt.

Shazam says Vintage Heartbreak by Perry Lindsay, which is on Spotify, but it's blocked? I can't play it to confirm.

Indie Song from a music video with a kid with tentacles

I'm looking for a song for which music video had some pretty characteristic details. It was featuring a group of three kids, but one of them had a covered face with a white (?) cloth. The other two were dragging him around the woods and other places, just hanging out. The one with a covered head was somewhat passive and unresponsive. Towards the end some disturbing things start to happen: under the cloth we can see tentacles or something similar, and the other two kids kill the covered one. The music is pretty unassuming and didn't fit the visuals. I think it was some indie band from 2005-2010. Does it ring the bell for you?

Indie Help finding an indie song, male singer, lead guitar (2016-2022)

I need help finding this one song. What I played may actually be an octave or two lower than what I did. I found the song around 2016-2022 in Spotify. Went back to see my Top Played for those years and couldn't see it. All I remember it was a slow, kinda melancholic song, a man with a calm and mellow voice. The guitar is the most relevant part, it has some reverb and maybe some chorus pedal effect. The drums were pretty slow and tame. The cover art seemed to be a guy, facing the camera, with the background of what looks like a balcony and a clear daytime sky behind him. Some words that MAY be in the song are "What's your name?", "Pretty face", "In this world", and "We'll always be". Not really sure if that is what he says, but something along those lines. Thank you for your time!
