These nails may have taken me over two hours to finish, but I'm so excited to have Warhammer themed nails for my next 40k tabletop session! I'm currently running a solo Deathwatch game with a Flesh Tearer Kill-marine, hence the symbol on my left ring finger. Shoutout to Goblin Hobbies for the awesome 40k-ish stamping plates!! The base color is ILNP's Eclipse, such a great color for gothic manis.

The glow-in-the-dark effect of Mooncat's Green-eyed Monster polish is so vibrant!

This is only my second time stamping so obviously still a newbie and didn’t pick up the whole image but I still dig it.

So I recently quit biting my nails and keeping them decorated helps me keep from biting them so I fallen down a deep well of nail stamping, magnetic polish, etc.

I’m having a great time! and I’ve started looking at other people’s nails all of a sudden and I’ve realized that I am the only one I know that stamps and very likely the only one I know that even paints their nails?!?

Everyone I know has natural unpolished nails or elaborate salon nails. I asked my teenage daughter about it and she said that the only person she knows that paints their nails is her 7 year old cousin.

I love the online community and decorate my nails for myself not others, but I wish I had someone to show my nails to in real life that “got it.” It seems diy nail art is not really appreciated near me. Is that normal in other places?

Had these stamping plates FOR AGES but never been able to get a good pickup. Watched a load of technique videos whilst being off work sick and managed to get it to work! Obviously tried every single pattern to see what it was like 🤣🤣🤣

Would love to know your fave colour combos and lmk and tips to improve!

Just started stamping this year; this is the most involved set I’ve done yet. Still need to work on getting the edges more clean…I used a clean up brush, but I think I’ll try a physical barrier next time. Overall I’m happy with the end result! 🙂

I got into stamping a few years ago & had some fun with it, but I CONSTANTLY struggled with getting the design to actually transfer onto the stamper for some reason (I cleaned it frequently, tried stamper-specific polishes, etc).

I watched so many tutorials & tried all of the hacks I could find, but I still couldn’t get the design to transfer consistently. I felt like I was wasting time & nail polish, so I just gave up.

I have some cute Halloween design plates I want to try again this year, so any tips/tutorial recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Who here has plates that you can’t pick up an image no matter how many times you try? I’m no expert on stamping but I consider myself fairly good at it. There are still plates that I can’t pick up images off of for the life of me. I have a stack from the pricey plates all the way down to temu garbage.

I just thought they were for more experienced stampers and maybe some day I’d get there as long as I didn’t rage trash them while trying to learn how to pick them up. So today I got out a stamper that I bought awhile back for whenever I have to throw out the one I was using. I picked up an image that I have tried and tried forever to get and never did!! I thought it was just a lucky try. I tried again… it picked up perfectly again (🤯)!!!! So then I started digging through my plates to try the ones I chalked up as lost causes. I tried several, all of them picked up even the tiniest, finest details. There were a few that didn’t pick up, but I don’t even care lol! Im so stoked, I can use the plates I thought I never would without a lot of frustration trying.

The one that works for me is UberChic XL clear short metal stamper. The only thing I can tell that’s different than any others I’ve tried is that it’s more firm. Idk if that’s all it is or what but I just wanted to share with yall in case you’re struggling. I’m not affiliated with UberChic in any way, I hope this isn’t against the rules. If so, sorry! 🥹

Chrome Powder - Artdone*)

Top coat: OPI Gel Plump Effect

I decided to experiment with rubbing chrome powder over each stamp to honor the shiftiness of the base polish attempting to color-match to each stamp polish color. This was an insane endeavor…

I can verify - this actually worked - BUT all this it took more hours than I care to admit and I was so tired I managed to accidentally whip up a small chrome powder mushroom cloud when I whacked my fluffy cleanup brush into the open chrome container….
the cleanup (from hell) became priority and I did not keep track of individual chrome color code after that, my apologies.

Vacuum cleaner: Miele Quartz 🥴👍

*) I like the colors I have tested, Was cool to get that look with regular polish, but when doing some swatch sticks I found that their color codes are useless. I bought two separate color collections from them, but found multiple different colored powders sharing same number so I wouldn’t have had great info to share on that anyways.
