I plan on finding a full slide of panels from the book I've only found some online fragments which don't seem complete. Hopefully this will do anyways.

Discussion 💬 Colorism in Burmese society

Growing up as tanned guy, I felt a bit insecure about my skin color as some people would regard me as ugly just based on my skin color especially in govermemt school. However it has become easier for me as I barely noticed any setbacks or judgment because of my skin now. But I still noticed some girls still do carry this insecurity about their skin tone.
So if you’re a tanned girl, do you still experience judgment or experience setbacks in the dating pool for something you can’t really change?

Discussion 💬 Law, art, culture, history

Hey guys, I’m wanting to learn more about Myanmar as a whole. I’d like to ask you all for any recommendations in literature or media regarding what makes this country the way it is.
I’m interested in history: laws and regulations (including but not limited to real estate, commercial, environmental, constitutional), how they came to be and why.
I’m interested in culture: religion, art, and any softer aspects of our society that may have shaped or influenced our ways of life.
I’m interested in geography: hard scientific background on land, geographical positioning, and climate resonance.

These are just a few vague topics to give you some ideas about what I’d love to learn about.

I have a loose grasp of what this subreddit is like as I’m a long time lurker. Which means I know a lot of you are knowledgeable (and a few objective lol oops) and can help me on my journey of understanding my heritage better.

I would deeply appreciate sources in Burmese by Burmese (not the ethnicity, just anyone from the country who would better understand the context and nuances). But if you have anything insightful, I am open to the piece regardless of language.

Anything helps! Thank you in advance, please dm as well if you want as I’m always happy to have a chat.

Unfortunate times to have to preface, but not AI. From brain to thumbs to screen. 👍

I noticed that Alex sometimes used to cover/copy famous English songs into Burmese ones. I really love this song "တွေးမိတယ်" but like I'm wondering if there is original one lying around and want to compare it.
