Brave knights, shrubbery enthusiasts, and lovers of independent local radio, rejoice! The Rock Community Radio invites the Central Coast to sound the trumpets—or bang your coconut halves together—for a night of medieval cinematic madness. On Monday, October 26, 2026, the historic Bay Theatre in Morro Bay will host a special benefit screening of the iconic comedy classic, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Doors open at 5:00 PM for pre-show festivities, with the feature presentation kicking off at 6:00 PM. 
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early in their finest medieval garb, brave knight armor, Killer Rabbit attire, or Tim the Enchanter robes for a high-stakes Grand Costume Contest featuring big prizes for the best dressed. To quench your questing thirst, a selection of refreshing beer and wine will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Moviegoers will also have the chance to mingle with their favorite volunteer radio hosts, celebrate local broadcasting, and enjoy one of the greatest comedy films of all time on the big screen.
All proceeds from the evening directly support The Rock Community Radio, helping keep independent, non-commercial programming, eclectic music, and local voices thriving across the Central Coast airwaves on 97.3 FM, 107.9 FM, and streaming online worldwide.

I'm looking for somewhere to have a relaxed dinner with my wife. We care about food and the atmosphere. I'd appreciate suggestions for places where you can speak at a normal volume. We are flexible on cuisine, we can spend around 60-70 per person before drink. Is there a particular seating area you'd suggest?

What’s going on with used dog-poop bags being tossed in various places? Do the owners pick up after their dogs when someone’s watching, then ditch the filled bags as soon as they know no one is watching?

Hi Morro Bay folks. I'm based in SoCal these days to take care of parents. I need to escape the city every other month or so, and find myself on the Central Coast / Morro Bay most often when I do.

I have a self contained teardrop camper (no hookup needed. I have solar as well, but if electricity backup was available, I would pay for it) and I would love to find somewhere to put it, and stay there every so often.

Again, more than willing to pay a monthly fee to host it, and come up with an agreement of frequency, access, etc.

I'm a quiet old tech dork in his mid 50s that just needs some quiet space on occasion.

My fiancé & I are planning to get married in Morro Bay next fall. I’m planning to get a permit & do our vow ceremony on the beach, since we’ll be a small group (30 or less) and I’m trying to plan on a budget. Was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for somewhere with an outdoor patio that could host our dinner/drinks afterwards? Just to give an idea, I’m currently looking into Rod & Hammer, so I’m thinking something similar to that. Ideally in the Morro Bay/ Los Osos/ SLO area

Why are there so many dead birds on the beach just north from the rock? On a dog walk and I saw at least 20 dead shore birds. Seems unnatural.

SLO County's 2026 High School Voter Registration Competition is on now, and campuses have until October 19 to pre-register/register as many eligible students as they can.

The school that registers the most students (by percentage of those eligible) will take the crown and the literal perpetual trophy -- and might get some top-secret additional recognition. (Morro Bay HS won last year... can they keep the crown?)
