This went way beyond what I originally was going to build.. but, I couldn’t help myself. Plus I had a blast doing it and discovered some gems I either forgot about or didn’t know were ever in any episode.
You can sort or search and toggle views between episodes, artists or fan favorites (complete with voting, that’s stored in firebase db).
I also went through and hand selected the best video available for each song, and you can listen or watch instantly inside the episode or artist cards. I tried to use the original artists YT account where possible, and also the vids with fewest ads.
I added a reporting function too that opens a form to address issues.
The heart on each song is for voting and there’s a leaderboard as well to track them forever.
Let me know what you think! And if you get any errors or funkiness, comment and I’ll investigate.
Enjoy!

Hey, so one of the problems when watching Miami Vice is the order of the episodes, the biggest problem being the finale of the show placed so that there are 4, so called, "Lost Episodes" after it. I'm just going to copy paste the correct episode order from another site so that you guys have it all in one place and most importantly, the way the text was written on that site spoils some of the most important events in the show, including the end, so to avoid any and all spoilers you can use this post!
Also, there is a scene in Season 4 episode "Deliver Us From Evil" which was added by NBC later on which WASN'T ORIGINALLY PLANNED, and the scene is VERY crucial to the show and the characters of the show. With that being said, it's "recommended" that you don't even acknowledge that scene because it ruins the point of the episode.
"When Miami Vice was originally broadcast by NBC, the order in which the episodes were shown was ultimately chosen by the network. In several instances, this involved moving episodes earlier or later in the season, which in turn introduced continuity goofs that are obvious to anyone watching the show in the supposedly "correct" broadcast order. The purpose of this article is to propose an alternate "chronological" order in which to view the episodes, so that any goofs brought about by the reordering of episodes are undone."

SEASON 1

Season 1 is not affected by any obvious continuity goofs as a result of reordering.
“Dutch Oven”, an episode from S2, was filmed as a S1 episode, and there is a small goof where Tubbs still has a silver badge, and Zito’s beard disappears for one episode. It should be watched -technically- after Lombard.” - thanks to u/jaap_null for pointing this out!

SEASON 2

SEASON 3

SEASON 4

As with season 1, season 4 is not affected by any obvious continuity goofs as a result of reordering.

SEASON 5

Another major continuity issue in the season concerns the placement of the "lost" episodes -- these were not originally broadcast as part of thew show's network run, but were instead shown later. This is typically reflected in lists of the show's episodes

I remember not realizing how stylistic it would be. The shots of the car during the "In the Air Tonight" scene seemed ahead of its time. I also remember watching that on Youtube and thinking it was from the finale of the show or something because it seemed so momentous and serious.

Had watched through the whole series about a month ago but was putting off the finale. Warning, spoilers below.
Part 1 was pretty decent, lots of action that was fun to watch but it didn't have too much that really stood out to me.
Part 2 I really liked, it felt good to have the crew back in Miami. The conspiracy stuff was intriguing, and I loved that the finale showdown was a (albeit obvious) parallel to the In the Air Tonight scene, with the driving sequence and the seaplane leaving last minute. And even with Tubbs getting shot in the shoulder.
I also liked Castillo showing up at the end and telling them they didn't have to turn in their badges, and that he would have their back. I do wish he and the rest of the vice crew made more of an appearance (Oh, I guess Switek had some good moments redeeming himself). A heartfelt moment with Gina and Crockett could've been nice.
The final goodbye to each other, then them driving off into the sunset and repeating the "Southern Law Enforcement" line, implying that nothing can stop their powerful bromance, was great. And I liked the little flashback montage for the credits.
All in all, a good watch! I'm sad it's over but I'm glad the show is so rewatchable. Also I have to admit I am happy that the new movie is coming out. Feels like there's something to look forward to and that my time with Miami Vice isn't over (even if nobody can ever replace Don Johnson and PMT, not to mention Olmos).

We'll have a Trailer 1 for the next Miami Vice movie here in a bit.
In the meantime, what did you guys think of the first trailer for 2006 Miami Vice movie? Not the final released movie, just the trailer.
Does this give you Miami Vice vibes or nah?
Personally, I've seen this movie about 100 times, it's one of my go-to movies to have on along with a few others from Michael Mann... particularly Heat and Manhunter. I absolutely loved it, 10 /10 and I'm always seeing new references that come from the show.

With all the excitement surrounding MV ’85, it’s been really lovely seeing so many people discovering Miami Vice for the very first time, revisiting episodes, diving deep into the characters, discussing the music and fashion, and finding their way into this subreddit.
Whether you’ve been watching since the original 1980s run or you’ve only just met Crockett and Tubbs, welcome! ❤️
One of the best things about a show like Miami Vice is that there’s always something new to appreciate, whether it’s a brilliant performance, a hidden detail, an incredible soundtrack, the cinematography, or a deeper meaning behind an episode.
And if you’re new here, don’t be afraid to ask questions, share your theories, or talk about what you’re discovering. That’s what makes a community like this so enjoyable.
It’s fantastic to see the show finding new fans all these years later. Here’s to keeping the spirit of Miami Vice alive, sharing our love for the series, and welcoming everyone who’s just getting started.
New fans, old fans, and everyone in between, you’re all welcome here. 😎🌴🚤

I know the pilot will be very influential. However, they really dont interact until the end of episode 1 & arent a team until he 2nd episode.
I sort of assumed it was going to be like the 2006 movie, but once we saw NY outfit Tubbs its got me wondering.

This is pure speculation, but apparently he's been doing pretty much everything in Hollywood these days. He did the Mandalorian soundtrack, Oppenheimer, Odyssey, and a bunch of other stuff. I could see him being a worthy candidate for replicating a Jan Hammer-esque soundtrack for the modern era.

After Crockett and Tubbs, this is the next most important casting imho

Personally, I’m worried that they might just do a retread of the pilot episode, but that being said I really want a remake of the “in the air tonight” scene.

Sonny played at UF. Everyone associates Sonny as a scuffed up & scrappy character. If he was a WR in the modern NFL you'd think a Julian Edleman or Cooper Kupp type. Tough, takes dangerous shots but still gets it done and a winner. Don sold that and you can see the footballer in his identity.
Austin Butler seems like a different kind of WR. More finesse, but capable of big plays. Just not always as consistent. You wonder if he could make the dirty plays. In modern NFL thats a Alec Pierce type. You cant ask Alec Pierce to play like Julian Edleman. Thats a different skillset. However, I think with Kosinski (the right coach) he's going to elevate to a Jordy Nelson.

This is a still photo from an episode of the series. Note the bright finish on the set details and lighting that creates contrast and moody shadows, aka, "pastel noir." This is an essential component of the show. If you haven't already studied this, consider doing so immediately haha
