Wife’s 7 months pregnant. Instead of canning peppers, we want to freeze prep meals

Does anyone have recipes they recommend? All we’ve come up with is stuffed bell peppers with a mix of meat/rice/sauce and Breaded poppers stuffed with cream cheese and seasoning.

7 months ago I planned on learning how to ferment peppers. Now I’m planning on becoming a dad.

question Best ways to meal prep potatoes?

I am trying to lose some weight and am thinking of adding lots of potatoes to my diet, since they are filling complex carbs, unlike all the pasta and bread I usually eat. Mostly thinking of having them for breakfast but dont have time to cook a baked potato, or really make any sort of breakfast in the mornings. What are the best ways to meal prep potatoes so I can have them throught the week? Thanks in advance! (Also, I hate sweet potatoes with a passion so please no recipes with sweet potatoes, only regular ones)

Freezer Meals for Old Man

My grandpa is really old and has 3 teeth, so he can't chew a lot. I live far away from him and want to make sure he has things to eat so he doesn't have to cook. He only really likes Chinese food and some Italian food. Any freezer meal suggestions that he could eat? So far I have:

  1. Bolognese sauce
  2. Chicken or fish congee
  3. Beef stew (or other stews)
  4. Various curries
  5. Lasagna
  6. Chicken soup
  7. Fried rice
  8. Lentil soup
  9. Dumplings or wontons (maybe from freezer section at grocery store)
  10. Meat and vegetable stir fry
  11. Breakfast egg casserole (or other casseroles)
  12. Minestrone
  13. Baked ziti

advice If you could buy all your dried goods for the year at the beginning of the year, would you?

I don’t like grocery shopping, but out of necessity, I’m starting to learn more about nutrition, food, and meal prep in general. In the future, I’d like to learn things like dehydrating, canning and bulk freezing. For now I was thinking of buying all my dry goods (rice, pasta, nuts, etc.) in bulk at the beginning of the year, so I can cross them off my list. Is that something you would do/do/have done? Does it sound like a good idea? Thank you for taking the time to read this

Frozen Meal Prep for Work

Hi everyone, I have been trying to meal prep for some time but I feel like I can’t find any recipes that tick all my requirements:

  1. Can be frozen and defrosted in the microwave without losing all flavor/tasting bad/drying out
  2. Can be reheated not at home. I have to take my lunch to work so I can’t use things like an air fryer or oven.
  3. Have a good amount of protein and carbs

Open to any suggestions and willing to bring extra containers/separate things out but the main issue for me is all the meal prep tips I see about improving/preserving taste is to reheat with special methods and that’s not an option for me. It’s microwave or nothing

advice Looking for ideas for my dinner meal prep

To preface: I'm not a hardcore dieter or anything, I'm just making an effort to eat a bit better. I want to have something ready for me when I get home from work that is ideally decently healthier than microwave burritos.

Right now I've just thrown some broccoli, black beans, ground beef, and green onions in a pot and cooked it up, to eat over rice. I thought I would pop over here and ask for ideas on spices or other things to add that would work well with it. I was thinking about tomato paste to bring the consistency together a bit better, and I already know I like it with these flavors. (Hopefully I don't wind up reinventing chili).

Ive never even heard of canned salmon before, it makes sense that it exist but ive never ran into it. Anyways my onigiri recipe is drained canned tuna, mayo, siracha mixed together and used as a filling in a triangle rice mold. I imagine i can just do the same thing but once again I'm unsure. Any wisdom in this would help

meal prep advice for a 19 yr old

I'm starting off very simple. My goal is for the next month, prep and make my own breakfast everyday (or atleast on the weekdays). I live with my mom who cooks dinner and we don't have much storage for me to meal prep breakfast lunch and dinner, plus im very ADHD so I doubt id be able to do all that by myself at the moment anyway. I decided that since im not very good at cooking and i struggle alot with feeding myself and cleaning up after myself this could be like me doing a free trial to living on my own.

Cooking my own meal everyday and not wasting money on fast food anymore is my main goal. Rn I'm starting off extremely simple, breakfast sandwich with bagels, eggs and probably spinach because i desperately need more fiber lol. We also keep potatos pretty regularly at the house so ill use those for hashbrowns on the days i have time to or feel like it.

How does this sound though? I went over the meal prep beginner post thats pinned in the sub and i think this is pretty solid, does this feel like its missing something?

And most importantly if you have any breakfast food suggestions id love to hear them. My budget is 15 dollars for each grocery run. I get a small 6 pack of eggs that are about 88¢ to 1$, bagels are about 3-4$ and spinach is 2-3$. That leaves me about 5-7ish$ dollars left to spend. I'm trying to stay away from deli meats and heavy meats like sausage and bacon because they aren't really the best for you and im also dealing with stomach issues so light, easy to digest foods are best for my breakfast.

Any tips for meal prepping fish or seafood for work lunches?

I meal prep five lunches for the workweek, and my doctor has recommended cutting back on red meat and eating more chicken and fish.

Chicken is easy enough, but I'd like to have fish or seafood a couple of days a week for some variety. My main concern is the smell. I don't want to bring something to the office that smells strongly of fish and bothers my coworkers.

I'm happy to eat it cold, so I wouldn't need to microwave it at work. Are there any types of fish or seafood that work particularly well for meal prep and don't have much of a smell? Any recipes or cooking tips would be appreciated!

breakfast Ideas for handheld breakfast?

My partner drives about an hour to work and usually eats breakfast on the way. We’ve done breakfast burritos and English muffin sandwiches, but I’d love some ideas to change things up for him.

He leaves very early in the morning, so there’s not much time for breakfast prep. Ideally I’m looking for make-ahead, microwaveable breakfasts that are easy to eat one-handed while driving.

What are your favourite grab and go breakfast ideas?

Trying to get back in the habit of meal prepping & not eating out.

This week has been already exhausting but I still did it! 4 meals.

4 sweet potatoes, 1 lb ground beef with taco seasoning, roasted veggies, pico de gallo, guac and Greek yogurt I use like sour cream. My favorite meal prep 😋

advice Air fryer oven or Air Fryer

Hello everybody, I can’t seem to make up my mind about this, so I wanted to ask you all about your experience/opinion
I’ve been interested in buying a new air fryer for a while now, but I couldn’t decide which brand I should go for, then I learned about airfryer oven combos and now I’m questioning if I should go for that instead
I make pretty big meal preps, which is the big con against a standalone airfryer, but everywhere I read everyone says that air fryer ovens are not as good as normal air-fryers when it comes to efficiency and texture, i would be ok with that if the airfryer oven is as good on the other departments such as baking
I have a gas oven, which is pretty old, and while it helps me tremendously when making sweet potatoes (I go trough 13lbs of sweet potatoes a week) it’s a pretty clunky experience
So I want to ask you all your experience and advice on whether an air fryer oven is worth it or I should get a normal airfryer and stick with my old oven
The thing is that air fryer ovens are not that big to make that huge of a difference in meal prepping, I think? correct me if I’m wrong
If it is worth getting one, which one is the best? Or if it’s better to get a normal air fryer which one should I go for? Right now my focus is more on meal prepping but individual meal on meal experience is also appreciated
Thank you for your time, have a nice day
