the more i find out about this midterm (unwillingly) the more angry i get. i didn't check my answers after the exam as i thought i did bad (despite days of practice and thinking i understood the exam), but everyone is talking about this exam and im genuinely so pissed. i think it's so unfair for all the previous exams dating 6+ years to be similar in questions even structure and also all the question banks (which is supposed to be the hardest questions btw) to be so different and 10x harder from our test. is there a way we can protest or something can be done against this. how can you tell us concepts and then expect us to know additionally things that were never talked about even in the textbook (which i read btw). i wouldn't be this sad and mad if i didnt study but i was able to explain concepts confidently to my friends and do past test in 40 minutes. this is so ridiculous and unfair.
p.s: if anyone who took the test and found it fair or easy, pls give me advice and pls dont js say do practice cause ofc that's not the key and pls be nice😠im rlly sensitive rn

hi my midterm for this is in a week and i need advice on how to study for it. I’ve been keeping up with the content on a weekly basis and am able to do the quizzes on my own except for a few of the modules on which I will catch up. But my question is how to study cuz there’s an overwhelming amount of content and I’m wondering what’s actually worth my time vs what’s unnecessary. Another question is, since it’s only 4-5 questions per module realistically how much detail can it possibly go into. Also I haven’t seen any practice midterms for it so far so like Idkk what to expect. Just need some general advice plz from anyone who wrote it in the past, how did you do, what worked/didn’t work, any tips for writing and prepping for it. would rlly appreciate any help!!!!! Im really scared for it

Hey everyone!
I'm a grad student at McMaster and have been thinking about moving into a studio or 1-bedroom apartment, so I wanted to get some advice.
I'm currently living in a 2b2b at 20 George, paying $1,200/month with everything included, which I think is a pretty good deal. But I recently got a girlfriend, and I'd really like to have a bit more privacy and a place of my own.
My girlfriend lives in another city and usually comes over on weekends. She might stay longer during holidays, but she won't be living with me full-time. I also don't really want her to help with rent, so I'll be paying for everything myself.
My budget is around $1,400/month, ideally including utilities, but I could stretch it a little if needed. I don't have a car, so I'd need somewhere with a reasonable bus commute to McMaster (~30mins). I'm pretty flexible about the location otherwise.
I've looked around a little, but most 1-bedroom apartments seem to be quite a bit more expensive than I expected. I'm wondering if $1,400 is even realistic these days, or if I should just stick with my current place.
Would love to hear if anyone has recommendations for buildings or neighborhoods to look into (or avoid!), or any tips on finding a decent place at this price.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I'm taking CHEM 1A03 as an elective, and I'm finding it very difficult to work with. Chemistry has always been my biggest weak spot throughout schooling, and I thought I could complete it this fall semester since my other courses are easier now than last year and this upcoming winter. But I'm still having a lot of trouble with it, like I was trying to study during reading week, and the knowledge just wasn't sticking in my head. My other courses are completely fine.
I want to go into med, so I need chem, and I think if I take it in spring/summer, it'll be a more optimal, focused learning experience. Because right now, I worry that if I continue, I will have a grade that is terribly low. However, I am worried about what med school admissions will see with a withdrawn course.
The withdrawal date is November 21, so I am going to try my absolute hardest until then. But if worst comes to worst, what consequences could this have for my future education?
Appreciate any thoughts and advice :(

I don’t know how to deal with seeing my ex, we’re in the same classes and I feel hurt whenever I see them. They’re also very aggressive because of how our relationship ended, I worry about what they can do. Anyone have advice on how to overcome this?

I commute to Mac and my tire blew out on the highway on my way to a midterm today, so I ended up missing it. It was worth 30%.
I fixed the tire myself so I don't have any receipts, but I do have photos of the tire on the side of the highway.
Would that be enough supporting documentation for an MSAF Type B? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

So I just got absolutely FUCKED by the Mathematical Reasoning midterm exam, like I’m 100% relying on the curve now. I am just posting to see if anyone else completely fucked themselves over and did horrible too.
Also, to anybody that has taken the course before, what are the curves typically like on the midterm exam? How much of a boost can I expect? ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

As the title states I failed the first 1LS3 test and I can’t move on cause it was so easy the anxiety got to me at the end and I erased all the right multiple choice questions and put the wrong ones. I started solving the range questions with domain… I promise I know how to do both. How do I even make a comeback from this.

If any male student is looking for a house near campus, I can sublet my room to you for the winter semester (and potentially into the next school year).
It’s an all guys house (3 other ppl), 5 min walk from campus. Room is huge and u share washroom with 1 of the guys.
Let me know and I can give more info!
