I was digging around in a ~1940s dump site in central New Hampshire. This beautiful little marble is the first I’ve found! Does anyone know about the big rough looking one? Is it a marble too?

I know nothing about marble collecting but found you guys here and wanted to share! There were some old earthenware marbles that I thought were so, so pretty-- and also, weirdly, four civil war era bullets (one little musket ball and three minie balls.)

As the title says. My grandfather passed away and one of the things I inherited were his marbles. I don't know much about them, just that I used to play with them as a kid. Any information about them would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

My great uncle gave me these marbles. He and his brother used to play marbles after school with another boy. That boy passed when he was around 20 years old, and his mother gave them to my uncle because those memories meant so much to her son (supposedly, that’s what the note discusses in the jar). These marbles are probably around 80 years old. Not sure if he added any to the jar since he received them. I would never want to get rid of them but just curious if it looks like there is anything worthwhile in there. Sorry for the pictures. I haven’t even taken them out of the jar or read the letter. I’m sure I will at some point, but it’s all pretty heavy to me right now. My uncle is the closest thing I ever had to a grandfather, and he’s not doing so well right now.

I got these at an antique store in NJ, I don’t know anything about marbles, if anyone could help identify please, the pinkish marbles are smaller than normal ones, that’s why I put a regular one next to it for comparison.

Hello fine people of r/marbles! I am a budding kaleidoscope artist and this is my drawer of marbles. The vast majority were given to me by my mom, who found them at an antique store. The red and beige and blue and red ones on the left (top of left column and the one two down from that) are recent acquisitions from an artist, but the others were all in a grab bag. From browsing this sub I'm thinking that the ones that are really worn and have the fine stripes (bottom two cubes in the left column) are probably German? Would really appreciate any info! Thank you! Also, happy to post photos of individuals if anyone wants to see them in more detail.

Currently visiting Taketomi Island in Okinawa, Japan, and found these two glass marbles in about 15 minutes of beachcombing!
Both were partially buried in little rocky pockets along the shoreline, with just a tiny bit of glass visible. They’re perfectly spherical and look like actual marbles.
I couldn’t find much online about people finding sea marbles on Taketomi, so I thought I’d share!
Anyone know how to tell whether these are old Japanese toy marbles or something else?

Any info would be much appreciated! Just got these from an inherited storage unit and might start collecting now that I have a head start!
I’d like to find these a new home! Inherited all of these. No idea what they are or how much I should ask for them. Any help would be appreciated 😊
