I always wondered how majority of scholars are always stuck on simple and private things, mostly to do with women and prayers while the whole country's social fabric is disintegrating to nothingness. I admit not all, but majority.
Being a religious scholar has become a career path more than a lifelong cause for God and the right path. They carry out direction assigned to them by the Islamic ministry and then might talk about something that concerns the people once in a while.
But notice how few are consistently taking up positions and talking about the gangs, the drugs, the corruption, lawlessness, or even the reckless behaviors on the streets causing deaths and injuries...
Sometimes gang members will be selling drugs on Monday and be walking with some religious group on Tuesday and trafficking drugs on Wednesday... we can see a similar pattern with our corrupt politicians...
It is as if they a lot of them just regurgitate some talking points once in a while, but cannot really stand for something... we have seen braver people in western non-Muslim countries who took a stand against injustice, corruption and crime and spend their whole life for that cause... many such examples...
This country deserves a better class of scholars...
I was looking for a place that offers physiotherapy treatment and found this clinic. Apparently all the expenses (20 sessions of physio) are covered by Aasandha (which is quite suspicious, and I am quite skeptical) so I was wondering if anyone has gone to/has heard of this place.
i know this is going to be a very controversial post, but i just have to say it. i hate being tanned. my whole childhood and teenage years, i had pale skin. people always said i looked very "dhon," and then i started getting tanned in my late teenage years because i didn't use sunscreen. idk what sunscreen was or what it did at the time. my mom didn't allow me to use any products either. so, for the majority of my teenage years, i was dhon, but now i'm tanned. i always look better with my dhon skin. now i just have uneven skin tone and hyperpigmentation, and i hate it. i hate looking like this, and i hate the fact that i didn't start using sunscreen sooner. can anyone recommend products to get rid of my hyperpigmentation and return to my original skin tone?
Iâve been an MIB9 Club member for over a year, with my salary deposited into my MIB account. Through the club, I was getting the USD 250 benefit at MVR 15.42 per dollar.
On 8 September, MIB called and asked me to provide my salary slip and confirm that my salary was being deposited into my MIB account. My benefits were suspended pending the update, so I filled out the âAlready a MIB9 Member?â form that same day.
Itâs now 18 Octoberâ40 days laterâand the application is still processing.
What makes this even more frustrating is that during this period, I havenât been able to use my MIB card even for local transactions in MVR. I donât understand why local card payments are affected or why updating an existing membership is taking this long.
I understand that banks need updated documents, but being an existing member with salary deposits already going into the account, I expected this to be a straightforward process.
Has anyone else experienced this with MIB9? How long did yours take, and which contact or complaint channel actually helped get it resolved?
Hi, college student here. Im looking for ways to earn money while also studying, how do u guys do it? I dont wanna stay dependent on my parents to pay for my stuff. And most job openings are full time and i cannot dedicate that much time for work because studying is my top priority as of now. so if u guys have any advice lmk.
What we saw from the video was not "bully". That was 1000% Maraamaaree. And from what we saw in the video, those boys were about 15 16 years old. So stop calling them kids. In islam once u hit puberty, u are no longer a kid. And we should not be treating them as kids. Authorities will issue a statement saying that the boys were under 18, so there's no legal action that they can take. Hell with Maldivian law. We should be following Sharia. And as long as these so called kids go unpunished every single time, these things will be more normalized..
This is my first time ordering from temu and im pretty nervous. No one in my family has ever ordered online, its always a mom's friend or a friend of a friend that always orders for us. I wanted to orderin temu I put my name, Phone number, Atoll and island in the options but the next required option is Street, Building name, etc. idk what to fill in that slot, Because usually when people only order online they usually write an street name, Apartment, house number and some zibcode or something. all I know is my House name. I put my house name there and it told me my House name didn't have a number. i don't want my packages to go to another place so thats why I wanted to seek support from the maldives reddit community.
its honestly so disappointing how normalised bullying is here in maldives. i saw the video on mv crisis and it was hard to watch. the language they were using, how highly they thought of themselves and the bossy attitude.
knowing maldivians, everyone will blame the parents, teachers and every adult surrounded by these kids. im not saying their parents dont have a fault in this but we need to start holding these kids more accountable than their parents and teachers. there are so many kids who show a sweet angelic side to their parents and are such mean, terrible people towards others. half of the time, they dont even know their kids are behaving this way.
anyone who watched the clip of the kid getting beaten would know that the kids in the clip isnt acting or using a language any âkidâ would use. if they arent acting like kids then we need to stop treating them like kids too.
so many teenagers get involved in stuff like this and get away with it because yeah we protect kuda kudhinge haggu right? but what about the other kuhjaa in the scenario whos dealing with all the harm physically and mentally? where is his justice? its not fair a bunch of teenagers get to corner a kid, beat him up and get away with it because theyâre kids. theyâre acting like grown men so can we please start calling them out.
if we dont take actions against this group of teens then unfortunately, cases like this will keep on happening
