I’ve received my time table and there’s this class with no assigned professor. I’m not familiar with Malaysian unis cuz in my country this isn’t a thing in our universities. Am I expected to attend a class, or is it a free time for students. I feel like it’s too long to be free time bcuz there is a break after and b4.

Getting sick and tired of AI-dependent people.

Group project barely started and I'm already getting tired of these people.

A bit of a rant.

Our group was assigned last week, and midnight tonight is the due date for our project proposal. Our group only met up four days before submission cuz they all busy with this test la, that assignment la. I already proposed a few project ideas and then they can decide which one works best for them. We decided on one, then suddenly backtrack because not good enough according to the rubric so we decided on another idea.

So I suggest another idea, and they said ok, sounds good let's go with that. Then, they go do their other assignments as if they forget about this one so I have to research myself. THEN, someone chime in and say "I ask ChatGPT and Gemini for ideas to get A for this assignment" then suggested the AI-suggested topic. So everyone in dilemma again. ONE DAY BEFORE SUBMISSION BTW.

I ask them, do you guys understand that idea? Do you know how to research it? They say "no", but they still want to do it because AI says it got better chance to get A. Bro, how you gonna get that A if you don't even know how to do it?

If you have to rely on AI to do your whole assignments for you. Sorry bro, your degree doesnt belong to you.

Bachelor degree Is Taylor’s Law worth it? Any good alternatives around KL/Selangor?

I got rejected by UM and UKM for law a few months ago and i still haven’t found any suitable uni to pursue my law degree till now. my parents are urging me to decide asap because they said i’ve been taking too much time off to decide (which i agree).

I live around subang and rely heavily on public transport. my family has a car, but i share it with my mum, so i can’t always use it. So far, taylor’s seems like the most convenient option for me to commute to.

However, the fees are quite expensive, so i’m wondering if Taylors LLB programme is worth it or if there are better alternatives like MMU (i find their CLP exemption kinda cool being a private uni but requires me to move to Melaka so im kinda hesitant), BAC (need to commute by car) or other potential universities.

For those studying law, which uni would you recommend considering tuition fees, campus life, teaching quality, career prospects and transportation? Would appreciate any advice!

A bit more about my situation: i’m interested in learning about law because i feel that it would provide me valuable knowledge to have (also im bad at maths lol). i’m not necessarily aiming to become a lawyer, as i’ve heard that a law degree can open doors to various career paths with solid pay. i’m still exploring my options, so i’d appreciate advice from people with experience in this too.

Inti friendgroup drama in assignments

Pretty sure it's normal for usual friendship/friendgroup break ups in college esp somewhere like inti but has anyone experience one where a classmate just tweaks out and takes out the friendgroup drama on people who aren't even involved with it and barely knows them?

I mean I'm enrolled in a smaller classroom since I did my intake before the SPM students rolled in, but currently faced with a situation where there's like a girl friendgroup drama happening where both split up groups are just yapping their "side of the stories" like someone who has never faced those issues back in secondary school

(Like they would shit talk about the other person in normal speaking tone in class so that everyone hears it)

It's dumb since I had an original group for group assignments already, but like these groups of people started "recruiting" my friends (the more people pleasing ones) in for group assignments for some reason and threatening saying that "if you don't do this I'll hate you forever" smth like that so they're forced to join?? Idk

I'm currently in my first year so idk if it's gonna happen when I'm off to do my degree or naw

(Btw forgot to mention, both groups are like from privileged rich families that have nothing to do other than to find random drama to feed off)

Uni Project on Haze and corruption - thoughts?

Yesterday was a bit frustrated with this haze still going on so i put this together: https://tak-buat-tak-undi-tak-beli.breezyclove34.chatgpt.site/#problem

Putting this here because you guys are all much smarter than me and have much more passion. This is open to anyone to help take it forward if its of interest?

I'm not Malaysian btw so the title is what i wrote - 'Dont do?' fine we 'dont buy' and 'dont vote'.

The concept is - provide more awareness, provide information on all the parties involved, provide alternatives to buying products directly related to the event or the people of power supporting / not doing anything, and provide alternatives for the voting season.

How it works - all of the interested parties will have their social profiles under their names. Hit a button and the system will send out a message from our own social media channel (not yours) and then we track who replies, what these people do, and give everyone information or resources to make decisions that make more sense for them come grocery time or voting time.

Disclaimer - This site has bugs, this site is lacking information, this site is not done - if you have something you hate about it but you think there is value here, get involved and help improve it. And yes, if people see value in this thing i'll turn it into an actual website and get all the socials connected etc. Just an initial prototype for now. Let me know?

People who took:

Are you happy that you took mufy? Did it open a lot of gates for you? What subjects do you think it was worth it?

People who are taking:

What subjects and what are you planning to do atfer? What subjects you think are quite difficult? Are you happy with the subjects?

For both:

Did you apply for the scholarships? (Yk the awarding 1 -5 ish in SUNWAY) how did it went?

I'm just asking a ton of questions because I'm planning to take it soon! If you comment just noted that I'll be asking a few questions back... sry!!

Looking for new ppl to meet in sunway area !

Hey! I’m an international student new to the Sunway area, looking to meet new people and make some genuine friends anything that involves getting out there and trying something new. Always down for random side quests, exploring new places, spontaneous plans, or just chilling and grabbing food. I visit Malaysia pretty often, so I already know my way around quite a bit! I’m open minded and down for pretty much anything, so if you’re looking for someone to hang out with, explore KL, try new things, or just vibe with, hit me up !

tips A cautionary tale about renting in Malaysia as a foreigner (My experiences with Igloo Living/Southrop)

In 2025, I got accepted into one of the foundation programs in Sunway and was looking for a place to live. I had a foreign number which naturally deterred a lot of agents away. The only person to respond to me was a member of Southrop (Now Igloo Living). They showed me one of their rooms in A-marine Lakeside Condominium and not having any other options, I accepted.

The unit itself was not that bad, the cabinets to store food and the space in the fridge was small but nothing too bad. That was until I moved out. My family (Mum and 2 sisters) were helping me move my stuff out and the housing agent was super rude to us (my family didn't even enter the unit). The agent was also incredibly rude to me when I asked for further clarification on what date they would give me back my deposit. My deposit was long overdue and I kept texting them about it only to get ghosted.

Eventually, I had enough and emailed them which they also ignored. I started looking into my legal options and discovered I could take them to small claims court (for deposits less than 5000 with no lawyers needed) and so I drafted my letter of demand. All of a sudden, they were going through audit changes and could provide a million explanations about why I shouldn't take them to court. The tone in which they spoke to me completely shifted, from rude and arrogant to incredibly polite. Now they wanted to have a civil discussion.

To any international student thinking of renting from them at A'marine or Nautica. Please be incredibly careful. I was a dumb 17 year old with no prior renting experience, much less in Malaysia. I wish someone had been there to tell me what to look out for and guide me through the process.

-A lot of the listings on websites like iProperty and propertyguru tend to not be of the actual unit itself.

-Always ensure that you have a tenancy agreement that is legitimate, this will help you in the cases where you might want to take your housing agency/landlord to court

-Keep records of everything, from Tenancy Agreement, Deposit receipt, every payment made to the landlord, text conversations about any damages/them not responding to you, videos/images of before and after you left the apartment.

tips University life has not been what I’ve been expecting

My expectations for a uni life was probably too high, I’ve always anticipated having lots of friends, going out to study, clubs, or just hanging out in general. But so far I’ve literally only made 1 single friend. Everyday is basically the same routine, going to class then heading home with no meaningful connections and conversations. I don’t remember it being so hard to make friends in secondary school but everyone seem to only keep to themselves or their groups.

Anytime I see a group of friends walk by I just feel so down like I have nothing going on for myself. Comprison is the thief of joy but im just so jealous of people posting Instagram stories having lunch, skipping classes, going to genting late at night etc. I feel like I’m missing out on so much and it’s going to affect my social skills and mental development in the workplace. I’m also going to study abroad in a few years and was hoping to find trusted friends. Anyone else feeling like this or have any tips to fix it?

Pre-U/STPM/Foundation/Diploma Is it possible to go from doing foundation at ipts to doing degree at ipta (through direct intake/saluran inklusif)?

Hi people, so im currently abt to do foundation at a private uni. N tbh the course i want is vet so basically I only hv 3 choices. Msu, umk n upm. Problem is yes im doing foundation at msu but the tuition fee for degree later on is so expensive (rm 370k) n so now im thinking that I'd wanna try to apply for upm and umk's vet programme too but obviously through direct intake way. So just wanna ask if anyone's had an experience of studying foundation at a private uni but doing degree like vet/mbbs/law/pharmacy at a public uni through direct intake? However yes I do know upm is very hard to get into but I'd just want to try as I am planning to work at a vet clinic and volunteer at any animal shelter during my sem break so yeah if anyone knows anything about this, do let me know! Thank you guys!

Any ex stpm students currently retaking foundation or about to do so?

Hello everyone, im an ex stpm leaver that's gonna redo foundation at msu soon. I would just like to know how was the experience of redoing foundation as an ex stpm student? I heard some stories abt how we shouldn't reveal our actual age if we are 20 and abv bcz we would be outcasted and might even get bullied or disturbed.

Now I am contemplating whether I should actually reveal my actual age during the useless ice breaking sessions or just lie. And apparently if u are the oldest then the other students won't wanna be friends w u or smtg..? Idk man I have been hearing a lot of horror stories abt msu as well and I am honestly so scared n anxious coz I am risking and sacrificing a lot to redo foundation to do the course/degree i want later on.

So if any of yall could tell me how yall managed to survive as a stpm student redoing foundation, pls lmk! I just need to get that 4.0 and do my best, don't wanna be involved in unnecessary drama.
