This just reminded me of a neutron bomb level of cringe I once saw
Probably 4chan or somewhere like that I saw this sort of comic strip a guy made of himself transforming into a horse with a gem. I think it used real images of himself
That was without a doubt the most weird fucking thing I have ever seen created online
Edit: wow I found it fast. Don't click unless you want to say what fuck out loud also it's NSFW. I saw a naked butt and I could not will myself to look further
This is something that should have been burned. Sorry https://www.reddit.com/r/tipofmytongue/comments/15mp6gn/tomt_weird_internet_comic_of_photoshopped_images/

Funny enough, scent is still a commonly used identifying characteristic. Look at any chemical data sheet and it will list how it smells.
e.g. https://pubchem.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/compound/Isoamyl-Acetate
Also I guess worth noting if it isn't obvious, adding two reagents at once is also a common technique, at least she is using a funnel.

I don't get why that would be remotely surprising. One is evolved to be streamlined in something a lot more resistant than air and the other is designed with very little effort to streamline it, even in air.

u/FrostyD7 13h ago
It's not surprising because one of these was designed by Chrysler/Jeep. Were comparing the engineering of a dogshit automaker to the pinnacle of evolution.

Oh hang on, I know this one!
So basically there's three general groupings of animal mortality, called Survivorship Curves. Humans fall into the first; fairly low infant mortality rate, then most individuals die around ~75 or so. A lot of marine animals are the opposite, they have a very low chance of survival at birth, but the few that make it past will probably live until their average life expectancy. Birds and small mammals fall into the third category, they pretty much just die randomly.

English is not my native, and i never understand word "text book". aren't all books have text in it?
162
u/KGEOFF89 16h ago
Textbook colloquially means a book in an educational setting

u/totaly-Normal-person 15h ago
thanks! so, the text is so good that they actually had to specify it?

"Earlier (1730) it meant "book printed with wide spaces between the lines" for notes or translation (such as would have been wanted by students)"
38
u/Low-Sell-6943 15h ago
"Text" used to mean "an authoritative piece of writing" as opposed to the modern meaning of "written or printed words in a book". They put these texts in a book with huge margins between each line so people could take notes between the lines and called them textbooks. With a huge push for education in the late 1700s the textbooks became standardized and evolved with the times to focus more on learning material.
