Day 17: Shani hallucinating her dead brother after his death
Day 18: my Eshe and Obasi designs

I think once you hear it … just thinking of alternative voice actors for adult Vitani is all…

Why didn’t Disney just sue Paramount if the found out?

I don't know why, but when I used to watch The Lion King 2 when I was younger, I honestly felt like that this scene felt like that Simba was ordering an air strike on Kovu in a way! XD I was a kid, so I know that might sound funny. XD

So normally I would keep my activities separated based on platform but, seeing how small the LionGuard community seems to be, i'll just share the fic, want to make sure it reaches as many people as possible

I tried to let the tags give as much context as needed but I can answer question if needed

I know is not visual art but that's the closest available

Don't know if it's just me, but everytime I see this frame of Zira, I can't help but think of the Joker sometimes!! XD

Meet Kanu, the son of Kion and Rani, their second-born and the leader of the Tree of Life's Lion Guard.

For those who have been touching grass out of the loop, Kanu is the prototype for Kion, shown in several concept art and early animations for The Lion Guard dating back to 2012. His design and personality was much different from what we'd eventually see in the 2016 series.

I initially wanted Kion and Rani to have only 3 cubs in my fanon. But upon discovering Kanu when the two concept videos were out on YouTube, I KNEW that I had to include him in my verse. So Kion and Rani will have four cubs at the end of my story, with Kanu as their second-born.

Since he's a KxR cub, I gave him some genes from his mom's end of the family. He has Rani's brown eyes, her back stripe, and a bi-colored mane of red and brown, the latter of which was inherited from his maternal grandfather Sãhasí. His paws are colorless, inherited from his paternal grandmother Nala.

My version of Kanu has the same personality he did in the concept content. Cocky, arrogant, wreckless, and resourceful. His parents and siblings have tried reigning him in but he's an absolute wildcard, and more often than not, leave him to his own devices. It's only when he forms his Lion Guard (made of different animals like his father's) that he starts to change his behavior when his teammates hold him accountable. As an adult he's still pretty self-centered and overconfident, but not to a point where it negatively affects his ability to do his job or his relationships with his family.

And just for fun, I headcanon that Simba and Nala considered the name "Kanu" for their son and went with Kion, and that Kion, knowing this, eventually recycled the name for his son, (again, he is the corniest motherfucker on the planet - he WOULD fucking do that).

I know this might sound funny, but when I was younger, I honestly used to think Zira would've been even MORE intimidating/scary if before she stepped out from the shadows, her eyes would be similar to the "pupil-less" ones similar to the other lions when they ambush Simba and Kovu, with her fully revealing herself when she steps out from the shadows too!! That's just what I think, though. :)

"Pasha's always been the sensitive one."

So I decided to give Pasha, Varya's cub, a larger role in FH. She's the youngest member of the night pride, being a similar age to Kion in season 1 when she joins. I've characterised her as hardworking and dedicated but paranoid and obsessive. While her siblings have managed to move on from their traumatic exile and journey to the tree of life, Pasha still has nightmares about being driven out, being on the run and being attacked by a certain snow leopard...

My updated Lion King timeline & character ages (including Mufasa, Lion Guard and Lion King II)
Years ago, I made a post discussing the characters’ ages before Mufasa: The Lion King came out. Based on the timeline, Simba spends roughly 6 years with Timon and Pumbaa, suggesting the films aren’t simply using human years or treating the characters’ ages as completely arbitrary (e.g. Simba being the equivalent of 30 at the end of the original film).
My interpretation is that the characters generally follow real animal lifespans, with some exceptions due to royal protection, plentiful food and Rafiki’s magical knowledge potentially helping with illness. Timon and Pumbaa especially benefit from protection by the royal family, so I place them towards the upper end of their possible lifespans.
🦁 The Mufasa movie
Start:
Mufasa: 3
Scar: 2
Rafiki: 5
Zazu: not born yet
End:
Mufasa: 5 (becomes king)
Scar: 4
Rafiki: 7
Zazu: 2
🦁 The Lion King (1994)
Start:
Mufasa: 10
Scar: 9
Rafiki: 12
Zazu: 7
Simba: 0.5
Timon: 2
Pumbaa: 2
Sarabi: 8
Mufasa has been king for around 5 years, giving him time to establish himself as a wise and respected ruler.
End:
Mufasa: dies at 10
Scar: 15
Rafiki: 18
Zazu: 13
Simba: 6.5
Timon: 8
Pumbaa: 8
Sarabi: 14
Zira: 8
Scar is an exception to the usual male lion lifespan because he avoids much of the physical work, has the lionesses hunt for him and has the hyenas protecting him.
🦁 The Lion Guard
Start:
Simba: 8.5
Rafiki: 20
Zazu: 15
Timon: 10
Pumbaa: 10
Kiara: 1.5
Kion: 0.5
End:
Simba: 11.5
Rafiki: 23
Zazu: 18
Timon: 13
Pumbaa: 13
Kiara: 4.5
Kion: 3.5
🦁 The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride
Start:
Simba: 7.5
Rafiki: 19
Zazu: 14
Timon: 9
Pumbaa: 9
Kiara: 0.5
Kovu: 1
Zira: 9
Nuka: 3
Vitani: 2
End (same point as the end of The Lion Guard):
Simba: 11.5
Rafiki: 23
Zazu: 18
Timon: 13
Pumbaa: 13
Kiara: 4.5
Kion: 3.5
Kovu: 5
Zira: 13
Nuka: 7
Vitani: 6
Lifespan assumptions
Female lions: 10–14 years.
Male lions: 8–12 years.
Scar: 15 years as an exception due to his unusually protected lifestyle.
Rafiki: Using a roughly 20–30-year lifespan for his primate reference, 23 is reasonable.
Zazu: Using a roughly 10–20-year lifespan for his hornbill reference, 18 is possible.
Timon and Pumbaa: Both reach 13 thanks to unusually favourable conditions, royal protection and access to plentiful food. Their ages are plausible, especially given documented long-lived individuals.
My overall theory is that the characters age according to their species’ natural lifespans, rather than simply following human ageing. Royal protection and Rafiki’s magical abilities may help certain characters live towards the upper end of those ranges, but Scar, Timon and Pumbaa are the three exceptions I specifically account for in my timeline.
These ages are my own timeline interpretation rather than official Disney-confirmed ages. What do you think?

Two Kings fighting

I have been searching all morning for the stick figure drawing of Rafiki from the original lion king but can’t seem to find an image of it? Did I just dream of this or can anyone help me find it

I was wondering what the next Lion King Film would be about, and when it’ll release. Anyone have any idea?

Don't worry guys, I'm not going to be only focused on model sheets.

I just thought, that it is a great way to show what the character is, their personality, and what they are supposed to look like.

Chaka, I believe, is a shy and quiet lion.

But he has dreams, to be somewhat useful to the pride.

I think, had he not been deleted from the movie (simba's pride), he would sort of be like a Timon and pumbaa role.

But in the second half of the film. Like, Simba requests Chaka to see if there is any sort of ulterior motive, you know, with kovu around.

I also feel that Kiara is practically alone in this movie.

None of her family members hang out with her.

And especially the exile of kovu.

I feel Chaka would be the supportive little brother.

Compared to the likes of Kiara and Kion, he stands out a little, as I said before, he's not next in line, and he doesn't have the roar. He is just a lion.

After drawing Chaka for the past year, he sort of resonates with me. Even though he's a deleted character, I was sort of able to bring life to him.

Well, I hope you enjoy my artwork.

Peace and love your friendly neighbour cooler glove 🙏🦁

My favourite moment is where Timon and Pumbaa help simba and nala during the battle with scar and the hyenas the hula dance is funny and completely out the blue as well

Started watching The Lion King earlier and this scene came on. It looked gnu to me.

This year, the theme for the McDonald’s Halloween buckets is Disney Villains, and there will be a Scar one!
