Flux 2.5: a libre desktop download manager with MIT-licensed source
galleryI’m the maintainer of Flux, an open-source download manager. Its own code is under the MIT license; the repository contains the Rust core/native browser host, React/Tauri desktop interface and browser companion. Dependencies retain their respective licenses.
Flux manages ordinary file transfers, accessible video/audio and torrents in a local desktop queue. It has scheduling, speed limits, source-supported resume, light/dark appearance and 20 interface languages. The published packages are Windows x64 installer/portable ZIP and a Linux x86_64 RPM tested on Fedora 43.
The Chrome/Firefox companion sends selected links and detected media to the desktop app through Native Messaging. It requires the separate desktop application and local bridge. Firefox GitHub packages currently use temporary/developer loading. The Chrome companion is available in the Web Store.

There is no Flux account, subscription or paid tier. These are current 2.5 interface previews, with sample media in the extension image. Sharing as the developer for people looking for a free-software download manager.
