Been a while

It's been a long time since I've done any animation and I'm trying to refresh myself.

The proportions in this are shaky at best, BUT I can correct those through the process.

Was going to ask though is there any better/quicker way of doing this other than drawing every single new frame?

I'm using pencil2d right now (forgot my clip art account log in).

Even just typing this out, I figured I can copy past different limb parts and have them more uniform and in proportion.

Also - any free and trustworthy 2d animation software a guy could use?

Edit - figured out my old clip art account. Illustration and animation are gonna be easier than with Pencil2D.

Great books to learn from

I’ve been on and off on animation. I know some of the basics, but I want to learn more in depth. I used to animate on clip studio, but later on I moved to procreate dreams. I’d like to know what kind of tips helped y‘all create great scenes.

also another question. I understand most of the fundamentals of drawing but I haven’t fully mastered painting and perspectives yet, so should I try to master them first THEN start animating or should I just start?

anyways, thank you for reading and I will try my best to keep y’all updated during my journey.

Hey All, Amateur Game Dev here and I want to make a fangame for a game I enjoy.

The game is called 'Poppy Playtime' and in it, the player is constantly chased around by monstrous, larger-than-life toys. The game focuses heavily on the animation of said toys, and I am really struggling to make the animations i've got feel smooth while also getting like, the 'floppiness' that this monster is meant to entail. If anyone with 3d animation experience could give me some pointers I'd really appreciate it.

I'm also open to new softwares, as long as there's a way to access it for free. Currently in College, so don't really have cash to throw around at fancy software. Currently using Blender.

Starting my 2D animation journey with fundamental drills (Rotation & Hammer Impact). Would love some brutal critique!

Practicing the core 12 principles frame-by-frame. Focused on arcs, spacing, and anticipation for the hammer. Still getting used to timing and volume consistency. Any feedback or tips to make the hammer impact feel heavier would be super appreciated!

Today I created this 2D animation using flipaclip and I am consistently practicing to improve myself in 2D animation...

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm a beginner learning 2D animation, and this is something I worked on today using FlipaClip.

I'm still learning the basics and trying to understand timing, spacing, and how to make movement feel natural. I know there's a lot of room for improvement, but I'm trying to practice consistently.

I'd love to hear your honest feedback!

Spaceship vs. Spacesheep: A Typo That Became an Animation!

It all started when I tried to write Spaceship. Since English isn't my native language, I thought Spacesheep was how you spelled it. 😂 That little discovery made me smile, and then an idea hit me that completely changed the direction of the short film I had in mind.

And that's how this little sheep was born… along with its rather controversial destiny! A real plot twist. Here's the result: a short 2D cartoon animation, entirely drawn and animated in Arttista, my indie drawing and animation software.

One thing I'm still not entirely sure about: maybe there are a few too many pauses between the characters' reactions at the beginning. Or maybe that's just my perception after animating and watching the same scenes over and over again!

I hope you enjoy it!

I currently use Candlestick, which is a Wick Editor mod. I am wondering what animation apps/sites you guys use, specifically free ones, to see if i can make better animation. This is a non OSC animation I made, do you guys know any tips?

I love Marvin The Martian if you can tell lol
