PLAYER TALK Interesting take from Woike’s AMA regarding Ayton
Imagine you had a coworker who was decent at his job but not really what the team needs. Everybody knows he won’t be there long, but they wanna try to make the most of hi strengths while he’s there, encouraging him (crunk juice, etc).
Upper management realizes they have an (risky, but reasonable upside) opportunity to get off of him before he’s put into a situation that is objectively better for everyone involved but likely won’t go over well with him (becoming a 1st overall pick, who believes he’s a #1 overall pick but is now a backup center).
Worst case scenario you got 2 picks to try and fix some of your problems

[McMenamin] After getting out rebounded in three out of four preseason games, JJ Redick said the Lakers did “three different box-out drills” Thursday. How did they go? “They went.”

VIDEO Lakers New Offensive Entry: Flare Screens
We've seen some brand new offense from the Lakers!
Through 4 preseason games we've seen plenty of familiar entry concepts from LA (Away, Delay, etc.).
Flare entries have been the new addition, flowing to a variety of P&R/DHO attacks.
Here's all LA showed in the 19 plays this was used so far!

Did anyone record the halftime fan cam at tonight’s game?
This is for tonight’s Nuggets game. Bummed that I couldn’t get our moment recorded during the halftime fan cam segment … anyone know of a way to obtain the footage?

QUESTION Will Sexton and Kessler play in the last Pre Season?
Hope they do, it would be nice to see another dose of Kessler and checking out Sexton in the rotation. Sexton looked good in practice yesterday although did not see him in 5vs5.

PLAYER TALK One question for fellow Laker-heads like me who are into nostalgia. Why Rodman didn't get to be a proper reinforcement for Lakers like he was for the Bulls? Was LA too distracting for good ol' Worm? He was my fav player back then and as I kid I was over the moon when he signed for Lakers.

[Fischer] League sources say that the Lakers and Bucks have held exploratory trade discussions on a framework that would ship former first-round selection Dalton Knecht to Milwaukee (along with second-round draft capital) in exchange for big man Jericho Sims.
The Lakers, meanwhile, have been engaged in trade talks to try to get their roster down from 16 to 15 standard contracts and perhaps even acquire some additional frontcourt help in the process.
League sources say that the Lakers and Bucks have held exploratory trade discussions on a framework that would ship former first-round selection Dalton Knecht to Milwaukee (along with second-round draft capital) in exchange for big man Jericho Sims. Yet it must be said that I've also heard some pessimism from sources briefed on those talks that such a trade will actually go through.
The Lakers might be forced, if no deal materializes between now and Monday's deadline, to simply waive Knecht to get down to 15.
The above proposed Lakers/Bucks swap would have helped Milwaukee's own roster crunch. Sources say that the Bucks have weighed potential deals involving veterans Caris LeVert and Kevin Porter Jr., in addition to possible Sims trades, to avoid simply releasing players under contract.
The Bucks want to find a way to keep forward Pete Nance, sources say, but know they could lose him to another team if they decided to waive him in the hope of then signing him to a two-way contract.

The Los Angeles Lakers are still the most recent team to three-peat across all American professional sports leagues.
The Dodgers were swept 4-0 by the Brewers, meaning they can not three peat and that the Lakers will remain as the last team to do it. Hate that it had to be the fellow LA team but just shows how hard it is to three-peat in sports and that what the Lakers did from 2000-2002 was legendary and is not easily replicated.
