Well it's been a week of this little gremlin eating everything he can get his little snout on and making me slightly worry about what he's grabbing. Whenever he's outside he loves to chew on bark and tries to chew on rocks but those get taken away from him.
He also loves chewing on grass. Dry grass, wet grass or clumps of grass he finds near the lawnmower. I wonder what he'll do when that gets sold and moved on shortly? Probably just eat more dry grass.
He already knows to look at me when I'm eating like he's expecting to get some, even though I do not do the same for him! The audacity.
He has his first outside toys which he loves to wrestle around with. He is getting used to his bed more and more. The pink towel is an old one that's been in the house for unknown centuries now. For some reason he loves to play with that more than some of his actual toys?
The giant cage was purchased without realising how big it was and has since been replaced with a much smaller and easier to manage fence from Amazon.
He received a snuggle puppy which is supposed to calm him down with the heartbeat inside of it. He attacked it before the heart could be put inside. He's getting some other teddies this week so maybe I'll try to put the heart in the original and see how he goes.
And if he's snoozing on the floor, he will at some point roll over and just stay on his back. Sometimes it's a few minutes, other times it's about an hour or so. He's a weird little thing.
My sleep cycle hasn't been great this last week but I love this little gremlin. However I already know I am looking forward to him settling down so some sleep can happen again š one day!

I enjoyed painting this one. Black fur is always tricky to get right, even after painting hundreds of pets. I kept the background the same as the photo. I spent the most time on his eyes. This was a commission, and I'd love to hear what you think.

Hello there (General Kenobi)
Yesterday was a great day for me as for the first time in nearly 4 years, a Black Lab walked around my house!
His name is Booker and he's settling in pretty well. Well apart from completely ignoring his pee pads that is. He's already been outside several times and done his business there so I think he's catching on where to go. Grass is good, carpet is not.
He also loves to ignore some of his toys and instead bite my feet/legs. Hopefully that habit won't last too long.
He goes to the vet for his latest round of jabs on Friday and I'm hoping they'll have some information on puppy school there.
Ever since losing my previous black Lab Jethro, and then shortly afterwards losing my mum's two black Labs Banjo and Leah, I've enjoyed seeing posts in here of these wonderfully weird dogs being themselves, and I hope Booker can add to that enjoyment for others š

Pupās 5 months old and I spend a lot of time flying to DC from Miami as my girlfriend and J are long distance. I do love DC and am up there at least once every other month.
Iād like to take my girl with me, as Iām sure sheāll love the northern Virginia area. Wanted to know if anyone has good tips for flying with their cuties.

I had 3275 amazing days with you buddy, and it ended with one horrible day for us and a great day for you.
You had a proper prime grade rib eye steak, doggy Ben and Jerryās ice cream, a great car ride to the vet, and your vet friends you met on your first day home that came in on their day off to see you off.
One quick prick, the room got spinny and you went to sleep being loved, full of kisses and wagged your tail until the end.
I love you buddy. In spite of all the pain today, I wouldnāt change a thing.

Context: I bought/he was sold as an english lab (akc registered breeder/dogs) , but based on his proportions, im not so sure now. He is 5 and a half months old and weighs about 40 to 45 ish pounds. His dad was definitely english (i have his a picture of his pedigree and have seen him in person), but his mom looked more american ( i did not see her in person, only pics or her pedigree). His dad weighed 80-85 lbs and his mom weighed 75 pounds. I love him regardless, and I know it can take time for him to develop and fill out (the vet said i wasnt feeding hin enough, and recomended i feed more because hes growing). I just want to know because I specifically sought out and paid for an english lab. Thank you and any help is appreciated! ( pardon the lipstick š)

Iām looking for a decent ramp or set of steps for my arthritic baby (10 year old) black lab. What I see on Amazon seems to be suited to little dogs and sometimes not so well made.
Has anyone got any recommendations for something sturdy but also relatively unobtrusive in whichever room itās in?

Iāve had dogs my entire 30 yrs of being alive and not once has any of them gotten kennel cough. Unfortunately we snagged it from daycare and woke up on 9/12 to the saddest boy imaginable. Itās been such a tough 9 days of honking/gagging/wheezing - I donāt wish this on anyone!
I just wanted to share my sweet boy - sick in one slide and totally torqued in the next lol - while also sharing this as a PSA to keep an eye out for your furry buddies š„²

āHotRodā here has a dedication for a ball that surpasses anything Iāve ever witnessed. Heās my 4th lab which we know they all are unique in their own ways. Just seeing the level at which he goes to when it comes to a ball leaves me in awe. Gives me a complex in regard to my own life and Iāve not done horrible but had I invested a fraction of the dedication he has god only knows. Then again I donāt think itās possible. Pics a result from a little miscommunication on my part. Didnāt phase him and of course he got the ball. Haha. Love this handsome boyā¦

He's just too polite to flip your hand with his nose.
