If you're trying to figure out where the incumbents stand before filling out your ballot, here's a quick breakdown on Mayor Yvonne Flores-Cale and Councilwoman Melisa Medina.
Mayor Flores-Cale has taken a few prominent conservative stances lately—Last summer she endorsed a Moms for Liberty candidate for the Hays school board (a conservative advocacy group designated as an extremist organization by the Southern Poverty Law Center due to their positions on LGBTQ+ students and book removals). She is also an outspoken supporter of the current Republican Sheriff (who favors ICE collaboration and Flock surveillance cameras). On council, she’s consistently pushed back against Kyle Pride events and favored maintaining Flock camera coverage in city limits until the election made her change her mind.
Meanwhile, Councilwoman Medina was a delegate at the Texas Republican State Convention this summer and is an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump. She and Flores-Cale have shared backing from the county Republican party in past races, and both are currently endorsing the republican candidates running for County Commissioners Court. Medina is also pro-Flock cameras and against city-funded Pride initiatives.
Just wanted to share these points for anyone looking to stay informed on local city council races

Looking For Recommendations…
Any haunted houses in the area or surrounding areas that are actually scary?

On paper and from their answers in this short article, all 3 candidates sound decent. Does anyone have any insight into any of them?

Hiya, as the title suggests, I'm looking for somewhere to work out. A little relevant context, I'm a trans man and I want to find a spot that's got a track record of being welcoming and conducive to self improvement. Anyone have any suggestions?

David Barr Kirtley, who is the driving force behind getting the council to continue with the Vybe trail, shared this today.
Here's a clip from FOX 7 Austin featuring me, Holly Wilson, and Jennell Rayos talking about how the new Bunton Creek Road improvements funded by the 2022 Road Bond will improve traffic flow and how the new 10' sidewalk and 12' Vybe Trail will make it much safer for kids to get to and from Lehman High School. Big thanks to reporter Dominique Leh for speaking with us and for helping to bring attention to this important issue. If you want to help make Kyle a safer place for bicyclists and pedestrians, please join us over at the Kyle Trail Coalition.

Did you know that there is a Kyle Trail Coalition? A group of people who talk about the trails in Kyle, people who organize bike rides along the trails, people who organize trail walks with toddlers, just people who want you to get outside and enjoy nature.
They are also working hard on getting the Vybe back on track and were the ones who fought hard to get the council to vote on approving the plan the trail coalition presented. That plan is to construct a 12' Vybe Trail along Center Street from Old Stagecoach Road to Veterans Drive, to pause construction along Center Street from Veterans Drive to Burleson, and to build a 10' sidewalk along Bunton Creek Road from Lehman to Porter Cove.
Check out the group! Get involved, head out for a hike or for a ride.

What a sad day for Kyle. I really hope November shakes up this council.

Hey all,
I'm buying my first house soon and I've been looking at Kyle, Buda, Manchaca, maybe S. Austin
How do y'all like living in Kyle? It seems pretty safe and quiet which are two of my main preferences in looking for a spot.
Anyone living in a new 2026 build?
Has the water quality been a problem for anyone?
Any insight and opinions are welcomed
Cheers
