Jurassic Park /// Why is the JP III Spinosaurus design so memorable?

Post image

As a fan of crocodiles, I say it was an impressive and intimidating design. What makes this creature a step up to the T-Rex is its massive arms that as shown in the film, throws around the plane like a rag doll.

The red and white coloring gives the Spinosaurus almost a tribal look to it.

Our cowboy hat wearing hero springs into action. He sparks a road flare and exits the car with a booming, "HEY!"

Ballpoint pen, colored pencil and a touch of sharpie on a 3x5" post-it note. Thanks for looking.

Jurassic World: Rebirth I'd be more willing to forgive Rebirth's plot if Koepp wasn't so lazy about it

So, a common gripe I and many people have with this movie's plot is that it's a cliche plotline straight from a video game (Hell, it's literally the plot of a childrens PC game they made for JP3).

The thing is, I absolutely wouldn't have minded that kind of plotline on its own. Jurassic Park/World has always been an adventure movie. What I find harder to forgive is David Koepp being utterly lazy and uncreative about it. He admitted that the whole reason we had this plot point of dinosaurs back on islands again and dying off on the mainland is because he genuinely couldn't think of a plot to make use of that.

That's a bullshit excuse and incredibly lazy. I know I'm beating a bit of a dead horse, but this horse deserves the beating.

The red one was featured predominantly on materials related to the movie. The yellow one was featured predominantly on merchandise. And the 3D "rock" logo was featured predominantly on posters and home media covers.

TLW red & yellow logos scanned from the brand guide, 3D logo scanned from the Laserdisc cover.

Got myself these three JP3 figures today for very cheap. My second Stalking Raptor now that also makes me wish I had never bought my first one because this one works just as well whilst also having been substantially cheaper than its predecessor. Very happy!

I'm not sure if this has been noticed before but I wonder if the trexes on Mantah Corp island were named in reference to these women in this documentary. Stumbled across it when looking at trivia for The Addams Family movie and made me wonder

I was wondering around the bookshelves of Value City (a second hand store brand in Fiji) and found this behind a bunch of extra books, I noticed it was Michael Crichton and I thought it would be one of his other books, I didn’t think I would get this lucky, and it was only $2.80 (in Fiji).

Misc Does anyone know the history of the original JP logo that’s not used anymore

All the vintage Jurassic Park toys I’ve bought have the old logo that combines J and P into one symbol. It’s not used anymore in new merchandise obviously. Right now, I’m sitting in front of a Chevron gas station with the same logo. I know companies retire logos all the time, but I have a hard time imagining a scenario where Universal would ever let go of the copyright to an old Jurassic Park logo, even if they don’t plan to use it anymore, and one that’s not that old all things considered. Does anyone have any insight? Regardless, it’s very interesting to me, little nooks and crannies of pop culture history that can easily be forgotten.

Toys Toy Experts Pls help

I just got Kenner Thresher and Bull rexes and I have two questions

I really like them, but they stink terribly. It’s a very aggressive rubber smell. I once had a rubber crocodile that smelled the same way, and the only way to get rid of the stench was to keep it on the balcony for two years. I don’t think the rexes would survive that, so maybe one of you knows how to get rid of this smell? Pls help it's smells horrific and it's all over my room

What paint should I use? They have some minor scuffs and I would like to fix them. Is it possible to fix this with a brush or does it have to be airbrushed?

P.S. Sorry for posting it's here but toys subreddit is dead

Books Could JP one and two get a Harry Potter treatment?

An HBO show with 2 seasons. Is there enough content to make 2 full 6-8 episode seasons?

I have no idea why every post body needs to be at least 200 characters. Must I ramble to be able to ask this question?
