Hey jumper friends! We've seen a large uptick in volume of posts asking for name suggestions, most of them having the "Advice" flair. Even though it is a request for advice of sorts, name requests don't need the same disclaimers as comments on care/husbandry and we would like to encourage everyone to use simply the "Media" flair on those types of posts. (This will also prevent the automod filter from flagging comments without disclaimer tags as that is only a feature of the "Advice" threads) <3

Meet our little Hyllus diardi. They have four pairs of eyes, a poppy-seed brain, and more curiosity than most creatures ten times their size!
How cool is that? 😲

This was Eclipse's first time out since getting him Monday. He crawled onto my hand curiously. I'm used to handling a crazy lady who tries to climb to my face, but he spent a lot more time just observing and getting cozy.
Then this happened, and now I'm crying over how cute he is.

so obviously it was out of ignorance by mistake. whilst doing research i misread and thought it said to feed twice. thankfully my mum caught me, but only after the fact. i’m quite scared he’s hurting or something. he has been stumbling about since they got him for me. so i’m just really worried
also please ignore the dry skin, i have clinical eczema 😭

We have a feeling this one is a little girl 🥹 She's one of the friendly jumping spiders we've ever had the pleasure to own 💛

My baby passed this morning. Just wanted to share some pictures of her and ask what would be the best way to preserve her beauty?

I am a happy owner of a tarantula, and I want to get a jumping spider as well. I find them quite fascinating. My one concern is the really aren't many bugs around where I am so I'd probably have to buy food for it.
The tarantula is easy as Pets at Home stocks locusts, but are there any pet shops in South Wales that would stock things the jumping spider could eat?

i found a jumping spider and set him up a cute home he’s brown with striped legs, it’s late so i’ll get a flick of him tomorrow to post. but i want a really silly name for him.

I swear that little booty was working overtime! She isn’t mature yet, and I wonder if this could be for her final molt. But this was fascinating to watch.

Some people are scared of spiders, but this little one just wants to say hello, one tiny leap at a time. They're growing so fast, and honestly? I'm just the landing pad 💛

as some of you may know, I recently captured a wild P. arizonensis outside of my home. I kept him in a fairly sizable enclosure for a few days, where I took note of his behaviors. I noticed as soon as I captured him that he was quite sluggish and reluctant to move most days, and I hardly saw him being active let alone jumping. he was showing all the signs of old age, and being a male, I’m sure he was never long for this world anyway. whether it was the cold weather or just running out of time, I noticed yesterday that he’d started death curling. I wanted him to be comfortable in his final hours, so I gently took him from his enclosure and placed him outside on my porch where I’d found him days prior. as of a few hours ago, he’d passed away. I only hope he felt comfortable and safe in his last days, and I am so grateful I got to meet him. rest in peace friend, I hope you got the chance to meet a mate and live well before we met.
