Java runtime environment error

Hi, i am trying to open a program, however, a pop up with the message could not locate java runtime environment appears on the screen.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Java and copied the path for program files to the environment variables in the advanced settings to activate yet it is not working. Please help me.

What operating system?
What environment variables have you set?
Can you run Java from the command line?
