POV: driving an ambulance through through the world's most chaotic traffic of Vietnam
•
•
u/pseudoportmanteau 3h ago
World's worst chaotic traffic..? Have you seen india? Lol
•
•
•
u/mencival 2h ago
Lol yeah, don’t even need India comparison, any big city in the world at rush hour is worse than this.
•
u/Chrono_Convoy 3h ago
Sped the camera up to make it look worse than it is huh?
•
u/Inn0cent_Jer 3h ago
Good call! Didn't notice at first but someone using their turn signal def gave it away, that thing was blinking way too fast
•
•
•
u/Dy3_1awn 3h ago
I’m glad there was a small ambulance at the bottom of the screen to show what was happening
•
u/ChemistVegetable7504 3h ago
Some people pulled over but i think the ambulance driver is very skilled at maneuvering through small crowds and traffic.
•
•
u/articland05_reddit 3h ago
ironically, the hospital barrier gate ends up being the one that stops the ambulance the longest
•
u/Lanky-Relationship77 2h ago
People are actually getting out of the way. In Manila they stubbornly block the streets and refuse to move for ambulances.
•
u/NaluknengBalong_0918 1h ago
I remember those days… usually the golden hours is important but unfortunately because of this (looks up)… most of the patients are in pretty bad shape once they get to the ER… metro manila traffic kills.
•
u/JediRhyno 57m ago
Why? Does the culture not care? Do people not know any better?
•
u/Lanky-Relationship77 55m ago
Honestly I don't know the motivation, as I'm an American expat living in China and the Philippines. That sort of thing would cause riots in the USA.
•
u/Previous_Hospital930 25m ago
Filipinos in general are toxic conservative narcissists. We Filipino furries have actual manners, unlike them, yet they still treat us like undesirable animals. They even use religion to excuse crimes.
Yes, that is Filipino CULTure.
•
u/talapantas 50m ago
refuse? lmao. worst traffic in the world even a pedestrian gets stuck in the traffic.
•
u/Lanky-Relationship77 49m ago
Yes, but even when traffic isn't super heavy, they still don't get out of the way. I don't know why, maybe you can explain?
•
u/pichael289 25m ago
In the US they will get out of the way (or else the fire truck will run their ass over, fuck em they got emergencies to deal with) and then the guy behind you will fucking floor it and nearly lose control to get ahead of you and save no time and waste a bunch of gas and likely damage their car or hit someone.
•

u/DaedraNoji 3h ago
This looks sped up... Just looking at the first bus, whose hazard lights blink up much faster than normal, not at normal speed. Also looking at the Motorcycle Dudes head, it moves way too fast for a normal speed of a video... Also at the end, how fast the people are walking....
This video is clearly sped up.

They have to drive into oncoming traffic sometimes in my city because people won't/can't move. Must be terrifying

u/Blautopf 3h ago
If you believe Vietnam has the worlds most Chaotic traffic, you have not been to Conakry, Lagos or better Douala.
•
•
u/Unfettered1977 3h ago
India, Bangladesh, Nigeria, and Colombia would like a word. Speaking for the world's most chaotic traffic.
•
•
u/FamiliarTaro7 2h ago
World's most chaotic traffic.....of Vietnam lol
I see worse EVERY day in Miami. Try again
•
u/solo_leveler_69420 2h ago
Bro I wish I could've have this type of traffic to call worst traffic.. cuz even yesterday when I was returning to home from office at 9 p.m, I saw an ambulance get blocked in the traffic and everyone are continuously honking for a minute or so.. it felt like hell since I had a headache too.. I don't even need to say where it was. It's India..
•

•
u/Square_Success3647 3h ago
sped up video ? why ?
•
•
u/TCRandom 3h ago
It’s common for driving videos like this so it isn’t 15 minutes long. Not all sped up videos are bad. I don’t think anyone is trying to be sneaky here.
•
•
u/Square_Success3647 3h ago
why not cut out the video that only shows the interesting part. i seem that the vid owner was just trying to dramatized it even more

As an American, and Californian, I find it quite refreshing to see so many people getting out of the was of that ambulance. We don't do that anymore, at least in my experience, but maybe it's just my local drivers.
•
•
u/peepdabidness 1h ago
I live in California, the Bay Area, and we get out of the way of ambulance drivers while they’re still hundreds of feet away. Most people get too far out of the way even. don’t know where you’re at but I feel bad for the ambulance drivers where you’re at if this really is the case.
•
u/Idk_wtf_cantviewcoms 3h ago
Ambulances charge thousands to not even drive faster than traffic in the US.
•
u/sonerec725 3h ago
. . . Look im not saying I could drive through it but like, outside the swarm of mopeds in a couple parts this look pretty navigateable and everyone was being pretty alert and getting out of the way which is something I cant say about my home in the US (Father was a paradise/ firefighter and would get into a rant about people just not moving when hes right behind them*

My controls weren’t responding very well, but I didn’t wreck. I’ll have to play again to decide if it was fun

•
u/Myanmar_on_my_Mind 2h ago
You haven’t seen anything if you think this is the worlds most chaotic traffic. This isn’t even Southeast Asias most chaotic traffic
•
•
u/Confident-Court2171 2h ago
After all that, I could almost hear the guy when he gets to the gate screaming “FUCK! WHO HAS THE CODE?!”
•
•
•
u/PlasticWrapOfDoom 2h ago
Are so many drivers really that freaking stupid? I mean man, so many drivers here could’ve easily just pulled to the side but didn’t. Ridiculous
•
•
u/Upbeat_Opportunity_8 2h ago
Would you believe if I told you even ambulance have yielded against government officials vehicle in indonesia.
•
u/everythingbeeps 2h ago
Like 98% of this video barely qualifies as light traffic and the other two percent is a couple bike intersections
•
•
•
u/Free_Comfortable109 2h ago
I can literally imagine the six packs of smokes in a single day and the constant DOOOH MAAAAAA.
•
•
•
•
•
•
u/eggfortman 1h ago
The pedestrians dont give a fuck either. I've seen people just cross packed 8 lane expressways at night.
And this is not a good video. The traffic there gets way nuttier than this
•
u/Brief-Witness-3878 1h ago
I worked for months at a time in Saigon (HCMC). This is by far the quietest I’ve seen traffic
•
u/a_passionate_man 1h ago
World‘s most chaotic traffic? Have you ever visited New Delhi or Mumbai? 🤔🤪
•
•
•
•
•
u/Drudgework 4m ago
You could have saved us all some time and cut the first two minutes off that clip. Also, this traffic is nowhere near the world’s most chaotic.
•
u/Adept_Milk_241 3h ago
Not that chaotic. The street is pretty empty, a lot of people also give the road to the ambulance.
•
u/serial_warmonger 3h ago
This... chaotic?
Go check any dashcam video of any indian ambulance.
U have no idea what chaotic traffic looks like
•
u/JustAvi2000 1h ago
This may actually be an argument for flying cars. Or flying ambulances, anyway.
•
•
u/LegitimateStudio3702 3h ago
Ok now show nyc
•
u/tooclosetocall82 3h ago
In nyc you don’t even need video because the ambulance isn’t going anywhere.
•
•

•
u/Plastichunter69 3h ago
This is literally the least chaotic i have ever seen the traffic in Vietnam 🤣🤣
