Large group of crabs confuses "robo spy crab" for one of their own and protect it from Manta ray.

Sigh… that is not a manta ray. Mantas have to be like the most misidentified giant sea creature.

They are really distinct from other rays. It's the Whale Shark in the Ray division.

It's clearly a death ray.

It’s a ray gun. Did you not see the mystery box at the beginning of the video?

The average person doesn't know manta rays are a specific type of ray. Most people think manta ray is the group name.

The amount of times I see people call manta rays “sting rays” and vice versa drives me nuts. Manta rays cannot sting and sting rays are not manta rays

OP did you even watch the video you posted? Because based on your post title it seems like you didn't.
•

…did you not watch it? It’s at the very end of the video, but they all climb on top to protect the “spy”

I'm also guilty of getting bored before the end. Always disappointing when I unmute and it's not David Attenborough. I know he can't do everything ..but nature docs should be narrated by David Attenborough

First of all, it's a stingray, and with all the real crabs to chow down on, the robo crab wasn't really in danger
•
u/HoldEm__FoldEm 7h ago
Isn’t the interesting part that the crabs thought it was one of them & protected it?
No one claimed the robot was in danger 🤷🏻♂️ I think all of us realize that lol

Actually, the silly title makes it sound like the "Manta" was out to get the robo crab...and crabs don't "protect" each other, it's simply a case of safety in numbers...and I think we all realize that lol

I wonder if it's ego that makes you go to the top. Yeah, I'm rock hard. Then get sucked off and realise you weren't as hard as you thought anymore

took me a while (like actually to the end of video) to realize the "spy crab" is a freaking remote controlled robot... amazing!

Ever pick up a spider crab with your bare hand? It feels really freaking weird. Especially if you were expecting a rock.

I like that the sound effects for robo crab make it sound like an imperial probe droid

I didn’t know they eat crabs, always thought the are to soft to eat them.
